Eileen Lawson
February 20, 2009
Eileen Lawson, age 70 of Somerset, discarded her physical body with all of it's limitations on Friday.
Born Eileen Noggle in Hazleton, PA, she grew up in Drums, PA before marrying Thomas Lawson 52 years ago and moving to New Jersey. They resided mostly in Edison and Metuchen.
She worked outside of the home most of her life, most recently at IEEE, member services in Piscataway in addition to raising a family and being an active member of the Reformed Church of Metuchen for many years, teaching Sunday school and working on many committees.
She constantly gave of herself in every way possible, whether helping someone who was going through emotional difficulties, financial hardship, or someone simply left alone. She was seen daily at the Veteran's Home at Menlo Park talking to and joking with residents, hugging those whose families weren't around, and making many very special friends. She gave without ever needing to be asked.
Some of her fondest times were growing up with all of her cousins around her. Whether they were telling ghost stories, hiding under the bed to jump out and scare one another, singing songs, or joking and reminiscing. There was never a dull moment. She shared a very special relationship with her cousins, Hon & Gail even though they was a 12+ year age difference between them.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Frank & Erma Noggle of Drums, PA, her brother, Frank and sister, Joyce Walp also of Drums, and her brother, Jim of Geddo, PA.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Thomas of Edison who she took care of at home for many years, her daughter, Lynn of Somerset who she helped to empower to become a strong capable person, her brother, Glen and his wife, Sue of Hazleton, PA, her brother, Gail "Duke" of Sybertsville, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
