John Erdek

John Erdek, age 98 of Millstone, died on Thursday at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was born and raised in Perth Amboy, moving to Millstone in 1941.
Mr. Erdek worked for Somerset County Roads Department as a Mechanic for 16 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Ramblers Rod and Gun Club of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna E. Hoyberg Erdek, his parents, Michael and Anna Rimko Erdek, his brothers, Michael and Joseph Erdek and his sisters, Ana Nemyo, Mary Garsick, Elizabeth Hayko and Veronica Gerba.
Surviving are his son, John H.“ Jack” Erdek and his wife, Mary Ann Ryan-Erdek of South Bound Brook, his granddaughter, Theresa S. Erdek and many nieces and nephews.

William Csaszar
March 29, 2009
William Csaszar, age 92 of Perth Amboy, died on Sunday at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Edison. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy.
Bill was an Electrician with I.B.E.W. Local 456 in North Brunswick where he was a member for over 55 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and receiving the Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Perth Amboy and a member of the church choir. Bill enjoyed playing the violin, fishing, and cooking.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Anderko Csaszar who died in 1968 and his sister, Priscilla Zivkovich.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Martha Mary and Bill Kravit of Metuchen, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law, William Paul and Margaret Csaszar of Somerset, NJ and his two grandchildren, Kristine Marie Kravit and William Joseph Csaszar.

Ciro Salvatore Ciccarelli

Ciro Salvatore Ciccarelli, born August 6, 1924, in Newark NJ, passed away on Sunday at Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX, with his family by his side.
Ciro was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His energetic approach to life's duties and pleasures was infectious to those to all those around him. Those who knew him will never forget his generosity of time and talent. He graduated from Central High where he played Saxophone in the band.
Ciro was honorably discharged from the US Armed Services in 1943. He worked forty four years as a Mechanical Engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ida Ciccarelli, his brother, Gene and his daughter, Ida Ann.
He is survived by Grace, his wife of sixty four years, his daughter and son- in-law, Grace and Kip Harris, and granddaughters, Christine and Nicole, as well as his siblings, Madeline Fugere-Ostrowski, Theresa Murante, Eraldo Ciccarelli, and Thomas Ciccarelli.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 11, 2009 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Sadie F. Bruno

Sadie F. Bruno, age 94 and formerly of Perth Amboy, died on Saturday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was born in Perth Amboy where she lived most of her life before moving to Spotswood 3 years ago.
Mrs. Bruno was a Seamstress for many years with Abraham & Strauss Department Store in Woodbridge Center before retiring at the age of 80 when the store closed. She was a member of the Italian Tripoli Club Ladies Auxiliary in Perth Amboy, a member of Perth Amboy Senior Citizens Club and a former member of Most Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Bruno who died in 1983, her brother, Rocco Bagala and her sister, Helen Zehrer.
Surviving are her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas D. and Martha Bruno of Lecanto, FL, Eugene J. and Patricia Bruno, of New Bern, NC and Robert and Diane Bruno of Hillsborough, NJ, her seven grandchildren, Tom, Craig, Lee, Jared, Colby, Lisa and Cara Bruno and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Frances Eden of Spotswood and Nancy Neary of Fords and her brother, Adolph Bagala of South Brunswick.

Anne E. Bojar, age 84, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, died on Tuesday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
Mrs. Bojar was a member of St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church in Perth Amboy and a member of the St. Stephen’s Rosary Society, the Nocturnal Adoration and Eucharistic Prayer Group at the church. She was also a member of the St. Stephen’s Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Bojar who died in 1990.
Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Diane and Keith Protonentis of Clearwater, FL and Debra Saunders of North Carolina, her son, Dennis W. Bojar of Elizabeth, NJ and her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William H. Balog

William H. Balog, age 80 of Englishtown, died on Thursday at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. He was born in Carteret and had resided in Perth Amboy from 1970-1991 and the last 7 years in Englishtown.
Mr. Balog was a Civil Service Computer Systems Analyst for the US Government at Fort Monmouth for 40 years, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict from 1949-1954. He was Past President of the Board of Trustees and a former Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy and a member of the Elks and Masons of Woodbridge.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Lillian Lelewski Balog, his daughters, Patricia Hill and her husband, Ret. Lt. Col. Jeff Hill of Centreville, VA, Louise Johnson and her husband, Richard of South Amboy, NJ and Lisa Lippay and her husband, Louis of Titusville, NJ, his seven grandchildren, Laura, Michelle, Sean, Vaughn, Tasha, Ashley and Deidre and his three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Helen Mate and Margaret Blackburne, his brother, Charles and many nephews and nieces.

Alfred Baker, Jr.
March 31, 2009
Alfred Baker, Jr., age 82 of Woodbridge, died on Tuesday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. He was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Woodbridge for the past 51 years.
Alfred was an Electrician for 45 years with PSE&G; in Elizabeth and Sewaren, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict from 1943-1955.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge, a 32nd Degree Mason with the Americus Lodge # 83 in Woodbridge and a member of Colonia VFW Post 6061. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 5 Rahway, a Middlesex County Boy Scout Commissioner from 1960-1965 and a fomer Scoutmaster in Woodbridge.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Abrams Baker who died in 2003.
Surviving are his son, Alfred E. Baker, III and his wife, Carollee of Aberdeen, MD, his daughter, Bettie Providenti of Hopelawn, NJ anh his four grandchildren, Damian, Lindsy, Julie and Kaitlin.
