John G. Honymar, 82
Former Chemist With Millmaster Onyx Corp., Newark
John G. Honymar, 82, of Westfield died on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Newark, he lived in Westfield for 48 years.
Mr. Honymar had been a chemist with the Millmaster Onyx Corporation, the former A. Gross and Company in Newark, for more than 40 years before retiring.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Pratt Institute in New York City. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Honymar of Westfield; a son, John R. Honymar of Randolph, Vermont; three sisters, Mary Koroluk of Union, Kate Todd of Rahway and Ann Bahler of Hatsboro, Pennsylvania; a brother, Michael Honymar of Kearny, and a grandchild.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Friday, June 11, in the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.
Arrangements were handled by the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.
Susan Slahor, 52
Susan Slahor, 52, of Linden died on Monday, June 7, 1999 in Rahway Hospital.
Born in Hillside, she had lived in Westfield and Rahway before moving to Linden six years ago.
Mrs. Slahor was a billing clerk for Associates In Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery, a cosmetic surgery practice in Westfield, for seven years.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are three daughters, Alisa D. Slahor, Jennifer L. Howard and Megan R. Slahor, and a sister, Maryl L. Bannatyne.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 11, in the Werson Funeral Home in Linden.
Florence Kleiman
Was Teacher; Volunteer in Area Organizations
Florence Kleiman of Seattle, Washington, formerly of Westfield, died on Monday, June 14, 1999 at the home of her daughter, Carol Mayes, in Seattle.
Born in Brooklyn, she had lived in Elizabeth and Westfield before moving to Seattle several months ago.
Mrs. Kleiman taught English and art for the New York City school system on Staten Island for 25 years before retiring in 1988.
She was a volunteer at Overlook Hospital in Summit and the Crisis Line in Scotch Plains.
She had earned a bachelor’s degree in art from Hunter College and a master’s degree from Columbia University, both in New York City.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Kleiman.
Also surviving are her daughters, Amy Kleiman Tapley of Belvedere, California; and Greta Kleiman of Sunnyvale, California; a brother, Robert Gluck of Riverside, New York, and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 16, at B’nai Abraham Memorial Park in Union.
Arrangements were handled by Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Miriam Blonsky, 74
Former Secretary; Active in Westfield Chapter of Hadassah
Miriam Blonsky, 74, of Westfield died on Sunday, June 13, 1999 at home.
Born in Elizabeth, she had moved to Westfield 42 years ago.
Mrs. Blonsky was a legal secretary for 10 years at Lipstein & Lipstein in Newark before retiring many years ago.
She had been president of the Westfield Parent-Teacher Association at the Jefferson Elementary School and Edison Junior High School. She had been a president, co-president and board member of the Westfield Chapter of Hadassah, where she was named 1989-1990 “Woman of the Year” and the 1992 “Hadassah Leadership Award” recipient.
She volunteered at the Workmen’s Circle in Elizabeth for more than 21 years, and was a member of the Organization of Rehabilitation Through Training, the Dysautonomia Association of New Jersey, and the Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-El.
Surviving are her husband, Milford Blonsky; a son, Dr. Stephen Blonsky of Watertown, New York; a daughter, Barbara S. Blonsky of Mt. Laurel; a brother, Jack Landerman of Monmouth Beach; a sister, Jean Chodosh of Monroe Township, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 16, at Temple Emanu-El.
Arrangements were handled by the Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union.
Memorial donations may be made to the Westfield Chapter of Hadassah.
Raymond Krebs, 66
Was Army Veteran; Service Technician at Sears Roebuck
Raymond Charles Krebs, 66, of Scotch Plains died on Monday, June 14, 1999 at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in Scotch Plains for the last 39 years.
Mr. Krebs was a service technician with Sears Roebuck Company in Watchung before retiring in 1994. Previously, he had worked for American Airlines for 12 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield and for many years was a volunteer working with the Senior Citizens of Westfield for the food cupboard at the First United Methodist Church. He also was an active member of the Fanwood/Scotch Plains YMCA.
He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in Okinawa.
Surviving, is his wife, Jean Doris Krebs.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Pauline Mount, 93
Active in Girl Scouts; Board of Adjustment Member for 10 Years
Pauline Mount, 93, of Westfield died on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at home.
Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, she had moved to Westfield in 1936.
Mrs. Mount also a longtime member of the Washington Rock Girl Scout Council and Girl Scouts of America.
She was a member of the Westfield Republican Committee and served on the Westfield Board of Adjustment from 1975 to 1985.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield.
She was a 1927 graduate of John Marshall Law School.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mark L. Mount, in 1994.
Surviving is a daughter, Ethel Anne Roeske of Michigan.
Burial was held on Monday, June 14, at the Crownland Cemetery in Nobelsville, Indiana. A memorial service will be held in Westfield at a later date.
Arrangements were handled by the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield.

Frank Saluk, 96
Frank Saluk, 96, of Mountainside died on Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at home.
Born in Ukraine, he had lived in Newark, Irvington, Whippany and Brick before moving to Mountainside two years ago.
Mr. Saluk had been a factory supervisor with Glengyle Manufacturing in Newark for 30 years before retiring 30 years ago.
He was an elder and trustee of the Men’s Organization at the First Ukrainian Presbyterian Church in Irvington.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan Modrowsky; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 12, in the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn and Lytwyn in Union.
Olga Lubischer, 77
Olga Lubischer, 77, of Brick died on Saturday, June 12, 1999 in Brick Hospital in Brick.
Born in Salerno, Italy, she had lived in Fanwood before moving to Brick 17 years ago.
She was predeceased by a son, Anthony, in 1998.
Surviving are her husband, John Lubischer; a son, Ricky Lubischer of New Providence; a daughter, Donna Papariello of Lakehurst, and four grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, June 15, in St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant.
Arrangements were handled by the Colonial Funeral Home in Brick.
