Olive K. Seaman, 96
Olive Kathryn Manns Seaman, 96, of Monroe Village died on Saturday, April 29, 2000 at home.
Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, she had been a longtime resident of Westfield before moving to Monroe Township in 1975.
Mrs. Seaman graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore in 1926 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and from Simmons College in Boston in 1927 with a master’s degree in retailing.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield and the College Club of Westfield.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Clinton D. Seaman.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara S. Rochat of Chelsea, Vt.; a son, Ronald M. Seaman of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at the Monroe Village Auditorium.

Margaret Chilstrom, 82
Margaret Chilstrom, 82, of Westfield died on Tuesday, May 9, 2000 at the Westfield Center, Genesis ElderCare Network in Westfield.
Born in Shreveport, La., she had lived in Paoli, Pa., before moving to Westfield three years ago.
Mrs. Chilstrom had been a registered nurse for the United States Navy during World War II.
She was a graduate of the Presbyterian Hospital Nursing School in Philadelphia.
Surviving are a son, Robert M. Chilstrom; a daughter, Marne Chilstrom; a sister, Lynn Kippax, and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church in Swarthmore, Pa., on a date to be announced.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home in Millburn.
Frank Beacher
Frank Beacher of Margate, Fla. died on Saturday, May 6, 2000 in N.W. Regional Hospital in Margate.
Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Margate three years ago.
Mr. Beacher had been a route salesman for Pechter’s Bakery and Posnock Foods before retiring in 1982.
He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1949 and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, David Blick Post in Elizabeth.
Surviving are his wife, Estelle Beacher; two sons, Craig Beacher and Farrel Beacher; a daughter, Elise Kohen; a sister, Marion Green, and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 10, in Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.
Arrangements were handled by the Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union.
William Hart, 88
Retired Salesman; Past Commander of Local VFW Post
William L. Hart, 88, of Scotch Plains died on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at home.
Born in Staten Island, he had lived in Kearny before relocating to Scotch Plains 40 years ago.
Mr. Hart had been employed as a salesman with Clinton Square Auto Parts in Newark and New Brunswick for many years before retiring.
A Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II, he was a member and Past Commander of Scotch Plains-Fanwood Memorial Post No. 10122 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He attended New York University.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Klizas Hart; two daughters, Linda A. Horvath of Rahway and Jayne H. Danco of Bridgewater, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 15, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.
Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.

Russell Kratzke, 74
Was Underwriter; Active in Two Lutheran Churches
Russell H. Kratzke, 74, of Fanwood died on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at home.
Born in New Britain, Conn., he had lived in Connecticut before moving to Fanwood 40 years ago.
Mr. Kratzke had been a commercial underwriter with the Royal Globe Insurance Company before retiring in 1988. He was previously employed with Aetna Insurance in Hartford.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Scotch Plains.
He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Westfield and a former member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Plainfield, where he had served as an Elder and President of the Congregation.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Hilton Kratzke; five daughters, Sharon Deal, Vivian Rotondo, Helen Diana, Sandra DiBella and Alison Arias; two brothers, Norman Kratzke and Alan Kratzke; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 12, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.

Angela Sampson, 68
Angela Del Duca Sampson, 68, of Berkeley Heights died on Thursday, May 11, 2000 in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Summit, she lived in Berkeley Heights for most of her life.
She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Del Duca.
Surviving are her husband, Allan Sampson; two sons, Allan Sampson of Far Hills and Scott Sampson of Berkeley Heights; a daughter, Janice Sampson of Westfield, and four grandchildren.
The funeral took place on Monday, May 15, from the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial in Berkeley Heights, followed by a Mass at the Little Flower Church, also in Berkeley Heights.
Interment was held at St. Mary Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung.

Edward Yarusi, 64
Edward Yarusi, 64, of Seaside Park died on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 in the Paul Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.
Born in Plainfield, he had lived in Westfield and Bridgewater before moving to Seaside Park in 1978.
Mr. Yarusi was a self-employed dry wall contractor for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce C. Stevens-Yarusi; a son, Edward Yarusi of Toms River; five daughters, Wendy Bojok and Stephanie Peterson of Bayville, Katie Kucharski of Toms River and Joya Yarusi and Laurie Mauro of Seaside Park; six brothers, Albert Yarusi of Parlin, Frederick Yarusi of Warren, Daniel Yarusi Westminster, Calif., Raymond Yarusi of Garwood, Ernest Yarusi of Westfield and Leon Yarusi of Allenhurst; three sisters, Alice Caruso of Martinsville and Elizabeth Almonti and Rosie Gullinelo of Germantown, N.Y., and 12 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, May 16, in St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church in Seaside Park, following the funeral held from the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, also in Seaside Park.
Interment took place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River.
John McCormack, 3rd
John J. McCormack 3rd, 72, of Westfield died on Saturday, May 6, 2000 at home.
Born in New York City, he had lived in Saddle Brook and Fanwood before moving to Westfield 35 years ago.
Mr. McCormack had been the owner of Accurate Bushing in Garwood for five years before retiring in 1992.
He was active with the Westfield Symphony Orchestra and a communicant of St.Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Surviving are his father, Richard Gee of Peachtree City, Ga., and a sister, Marjorie Napoli, also of Peachtree City.
Services were held on Saturday, May 13, at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street in Westfield.
