Angelo Perrucci, 72
Army Veteran; Was Co-Owner of Paving Company
Angelo Perrucci, 72, of Mansfield Township, died on Monday, October 11, 1999 at Hackettstown Community Hospital in Hackettstown.
Born in Scotch Plains, he moved to Mansfield Township 36 years ago.
Mr. Perrucci was the former co-owner, with his brother, of the Warren Limestone Paving Company in Phillipsburg and worked for Penn Jersey Paving Company in Bangor, Pa.
He was a United States Army veteran and served during World War II.
Mr. Perrucci was a member of the Independence Lodge No. 42 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Independence Township.
He was a communicant of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hackettstown.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Lightcap Perrucci; a son, Angelo A. Perrucci of Hackettstown; a daughter, Donna Marie Jensen of Mansfield Township; two brothers, John Perrucci of Phillipsburg and Ernesto Perrucci of Florida; two sisters, Gloria Burke of Green Brook and Millie Revillini of Toms River, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 16, at the Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown. Interment was held at the Hackettstown Union Cemetery.
Elizabeth T. Fogerty, 82
Elizabeth T. Fogerty, 82, of Holland, Pa., died on Thursday, October 14, 1999 at home.
Born in Woodbridge, she had lived in Elizabeth and Westfield before moving to Holland three years ago.
Mrs. Fogerty had been a secretary with the Singer Manufacturing Company in Elizabeth for 10 years before retiring many years ago.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Gilbert; a daughter, Jill Murphy; a sister, Evelyn Comby and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 18, at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.
John S. De Noia, 88
Was Sales Manager For Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick
John S. De Noia, 88, of Scotch Plains, died on Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at the McCarrick Center in Somerset.
Born in Italy, he came to the United States in 1917 and lived in New York before moving to Scotch Plains in 1954.
Mr. De Noia was an Eastern Regional Sales Manager for Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick for 30 years, prior to retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Nelligan Council No. 5730 of Scotch Plains.
Mr. De Noia was a communicant of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains and was the church’s head usher.
He was predeceased by his wife, Veronica Curti De Noia, in 1993, and his brother, James De Noia, in 1986.
Surviving are two sons, John De Noia and Michael De Noia; a daughter, Ronnie De Noia; a brother, Frank De Noia; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Bartholomew Church on Thursday, October 14. Interment was at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.

Ethel W. Withey, 92
Ethel W. Withey, 92, of Westfield died on Saturday, October 9, 1999 in the Harrogate Health Care Center in Lakewood.
Born in Trenton, she had lived in Westfield for 33 years before moving to Lakewood seven years ago.
Mrs. Withey was a member of the Woman’s Club of Westfield.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara W. McIntyre; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Private services were arranged by the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street in Westfield.
James Martin, 92
Purple Heart Recipient; Was Truck Loader for Amione Company
James Martin, 92, of Scotch Plains, died on Monday, October 11, 1999 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a resident of the Plainfield area for more than 60 years.
Mr. Martin was a truck loader for Amione Company in Newark for 40 years before retiring.
He was a United States Army veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 7474 in Plainfield.
Mr. Martin was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church in Scotch Plains and a member of the Cafeteria Committee and the Men’s Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife, Louvinia Martin; a daughter, Vivian Lloyd of Stroudsburg, Pa.; a stepson, Robert Martin of Asbury Park; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 16, in St. John’s Baptist Church in Scotch Plains. Interment was held at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Arrangements were handled by the Brown’s Funeral Home in Plainfield.
Cora C. Lyons, 93
Cora C. Lyons, 93, of Somerset died on Monday, October 18, 1999 at home.
Born in The Bronx, she had lived in Springfield and Westfield before moving to Somerset six months ago.
Mrs. Lyons had worked for the Springfield Board of Education for 20 years before retiring in 1969.
During the 1930s and 1940s, she had been a clerical worker with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Elizabeth.
Surviving is a daughter, Gail L. Stock.
Private services were arranged by Smith and Smith (Suburban) in Springfield.
Eugene A. Woods
Eugene A. Woods of York, Pa., died on Monday, October 11, 1999 in the Manor Care Health Services in South York, Pa.
Born in New York City, he had lived in Westfield and Cranford before moving to York in 1977.
Mr. Woods had been an inspector and office manager with Conrail in New York and New Jersey for 32 years, retiring in 1977.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Woods was a member of the Old Guard in Westfield and the Elks Lodge in Cranford.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Woods, and a sister, Kaye Poirier.
A memorial service was pending.
Peter H. Hydock, 74
Army Veteran; Sales Director with Givaudan Corp.
Peter H. Hydock, 74, of Manahawkin died on Monday, October 11, 1999 in the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice in Edison.
Born in Newark, he lived in Westfield and Union before moving to Manahawkin 11 years ago.
Mr. Hydock was the director of sales for 15 years with the Givaudan Corporation in Clifton, prior to retiring 20 years ago.
He was a 1950 graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Hydock; two sons, James M. Hydock and Gerald J. Hydock, and three grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass was held on Friday, October 15, in St. Mary’s Church in Barnegat.
Arrangements were handled by the McCracken Funeral Home in Union.
