Life Dates: May 21, 1924 - October 22, 2005
Francis M. Cupo, age 81 of Perth Amboy, died on Saturday at Fox Chase Cancer Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was born in Jersey City and had resided in Perth Amboy for 47 years.
Mr. Cupo was a Manager of Shipping and Receiving with Maxwell Coffee in Hoboken for 41 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII from 1943-1945.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jean Fahrion Cupo, his sons and daughters-in-law, Francis Michael Jr. and Cheryl of Yardley, PA, Wayne William and Beth Ann of Parlin, NJ, Donald Patrick of Kissimmee, FL, and David of Kissimmee, FL and his grandchildren, Andrew, Christian, Brittany and Ryan. Also surviving are his brothers, Vincent, Anthony and Daniel, his sisters, Joan and Anne and many nieces and nephews.

Marie E. Flynn
Life Dates: January 27, 1917 - October 4, 2005
Marie E.Tkacs Flynn, age 88 of Monroe, died on Tuesday at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was born in Perth Amboy and graduated from Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1934.
She moved Hollywood, Florida and resided there for 34 years before moving to Monroe. She was a former communicant of Holy Trinity Church and member of the First Catholic Slovak Union # 58 Jednota.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband of 62 years, John R. Flynn, a retired City Fireman, her sisters, Anne Bayer of Trenton, Elizabeth Seeman of Edison, Catherine Youngberg of Edison and Terry Dickson of Metuchen, her brothers, George Tkacs of Red Bank and Henry Tkacs of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, October 7, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Elizabeth “Betty” Fugel
Life Dates: November 25, 1915 - September 19, 2005
Elizabeth “Betty” Fugel, age 89 of Edison, died on Monday in JFK Hartwyck at Oak Tree in Edison. She was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Edison 65 years ago.
Elizabeth was a totally dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Edison. She attended church on a regular basis and also sang in the choir. Elizabeth was also a volunteer at American Heart Association.
She was predeceased by her husband, George B. Fugel who died in 1995.
Survived by: Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Carol L. and William Arenson of Edison, her granddaughters, Jennifer Stemming of Manalapan, NJ and Allison Arenson, Esq. of New York City and her grandson-in-law, Jennifer’s husband, Richard. Also surviving are her great-granddaughters, Alexis and Mackenzie Stemming, her brother-in-law, Wilbur Fugel of Florida and her closest friends, Razzle and Lacey.

Barbara Ann Gnapp
Life Dates: June 19, 1941 - October 25, 2005
Barbara Ann Gnapp, age 64, died on Tuesday at her home in Fords. She was born in Jersey City, NJ and had been a resident of Fords for 30 years.
Mrs. Gnapp was a supervisor for United Parcel Service in Edison for 25 years and retired in 2003. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Michael G. Gnapp, her daughter, Cheryl Kiraly of Fords, NJ, her sons, John M. Gnapp of Matawan, NJ, Michael A. Gnapp of Fords, NJ and Christopher R. Gnapp of Fords, NJ and ten grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Doris Malkowski of Kenilworth, NJ and her brother, Robert Altz of Brick, NJ.

John P. Gomola
Life Dates: January 21, 1923 - October 11, 2005
John P. Gomola, age 82 of Edison, died on Tuesday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in German, PA and had resided in Edison since 1953.
Mr. Gomola was a driver for Raritan Valley Bus Service.
He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Demesa k Gomola, his parents, John Gomola and Mary Tompose Gomola, his brother, Joseph Gomola and his sister, Margaret Collins.
Survived by: Surviving are his daughters and son-in-law, Jo Ann Gomola of Edison and Donna and Thomas Spernal of Metuchen and his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Julia Gomola of East Brunswick. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brittany and Ashley, his brother, Stephen Gomola of Ocean and many nieces and nephews.

Ethel Harding
Life Dates: January 25, 1914 - October 4, 2005
Ethel Harding, age 91 of Fords, died on Tuesday at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home in Sayreville. She was born in Carteret and resided in Fords for most of her life.
Mrs. Harding was a waitress for 40 years at the Howard Johnson/ Marriott and Bobs Big Boy on the Turnpike in Sewaren. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert who died in 1978, her sisters, Irene Grobizna and Elizabeth Devone and her brother, Victor Hogya Sr.
Survived by: Surviving are her nieces, Joanie Lu Cante of Sewaren, Nancy Ventre of Edison, Deborah Devone of Edison and Lillian Miller of Clark and her nephews, Ronald Grobizna of Lakeworth FL and Victor Hogya Jr of Carteret.

Gertrude E. Hummel
Life Dates: December 12, 1913 - September 19, 2005
Gertrude E. Hummel, age 91 Colonia, died on Monday JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was born in Berkenfield, Germany and resided in Cedar Grove for 50 years before moving to Colonia 5 years ago.
Mrs. Hummel was a retired Supervisor for Annin Flag Company in Verona where she worked for 35 years.
She was the beloved wife of Carl Hummel who predeceased her.
Survived by: She was the devoted mother of Carol Ann Schneider and her husband John and Paul Hummel and his wife Pauline, the cherished grandmother of Donna Schneider of Leicester, NC, Paul Hummel Jr. and Angie of Grover, MO, Diane Cassin and Scott of Pensecola, FL, David Schneider and Christine of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Carl Hummel and Stacey of Indianapolis, IN and Craig Hummel and Mindy of St. Charles, IL. She was also the loving great-grandmother of Paul III, Emile, Abigail, Riley, Willem, Amanda and Josh.
