Edward I. Sheridan
Life Dates: January 6, 1925 - August 18, 2005
Edward Ignatius Sheridan, age 80, passed into eternal rest at his home on Thursday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late John Sheridan and Delia Boyle Sheridan.
Edward was a former Merchant Marine serving aboard transfer carriers, ferrying troops and supplies to various ports during WWII and the Korean War. On land he worked as a stationary engineer, retiring at age 75 from Runnels Hospital, Berkeley Heights, in January 2000. Edward was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, with the St. Cecelia’s Council #3639, Iselin, NJ. He was also a member of Dennis H. Roland Chapter of the American Merchant Marines, Port Newark, NJ and AMVETS – Post #3, Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home, NJ.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers John, Eugene, Harold, William and his sister, Eleanor.
Survived by: He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former MaryAnn Shannon, his five children, Susan and her husband Ron Critelli of Whitehouse Station, NJ; , Edward and his wife Crisell of East Brunswick, NJ; Sharon and her husband Ray Smith of Tannersville, Pa.; Mary and her husband, Matt Crane of Raleigh, NC; and Peggy Sheridan of Lake Mohawk, NJ and his grandsons, Marc and Matt Critelli, Edward C. Sheridan and Finnian Sheridan-Crane. He is also survived by his sisters Isabelle Murtha and Theresa Weber of Fedhaven, Florida; and his nieces Barbara Jean Pulice and her husband Frank and their children Tony and Jeannie; Andrea Henry and her husband Joe and their children Alicia, Jacqueline and Joey; Ilene LaLand and her children Kelly and Sean Allen and nephew John Walsh and his family, as well as numerous cousins. He will be especially missed by his life long friends Peggy and Tommy Burke of Toms River, NJ and Shirley and Walter Koscienski of Monticello, KY.
Visitation: Sunday August 21, 2005 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Monday August 22, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords.
Cremation will be private.

Margaret Olsen
Life Dates: July 20, 1925 - August 28, 2005
Margaret Olsen, age 80 of Woodbridge, died on Sunday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was born in Perth Amboy and had resided most of her life in Perth Amboy moving to Woodbridge 15 years ago.
Mrs. Olsen was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Christopher who died in 1950, her daughters, Mary and Shirley, her brother, Julius and her sisters, Mary and Helen.
Survived by: Surviving are her sons, John of Fords, Richard of New Brunswick and Michael of Colonia, her daughter, Elaine, her grandchildren, Kenneth, Carolyn, Edward, Steven, Jeanette, Lorie, Nicholas and Erica and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her niece, Maryann Peaney, with whom she resided, several other nieces and nephews, her brothers, Peter, Steve and Joseph and her sister, Elizabeth.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 31, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ
Funeral Service: Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Cremation will be private.

Harold T. Martensen
Life Dates: October 13, 1912 - August 29, 2005
Harold T. Martensen, age 92 of Edison, died on Monday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Perth Amboy and resided in Fords moving to Edison 57 years ago.
Mr. Martensen was a Supervisor for 30 years with E. I. Dupont in Perth Amboy and Linden retiring in 1975. He was a former Elder and Trustee at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a member of Clara Barton Senior Club. He was also a member of VFW Post 6090 Fords and the Danish Brotherhood Thor Lodge 46.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during WWII.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Grace Noack Martensen, his sons, Kenneth Martensen of Edison and Kevin Martensen of Plainsboro, his daughter, Karen Martensen of Gallaway Township and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Thursday, September 1, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Friday, September 2, 2005 at 9:45 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral service at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fords.
Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.

Stella F. Levendoske
Life Dates: July 9, 1917 - August 14, 2005
Stella F. Levendoske, age 88 of Reston, VA, died on Sunday under the care of Capital Hospice. She was born in Matawan and resided in Fords for 50 years before moving to Reston.
Mrs. Levendoske was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords and a former Woodbridge Township Committeewoman.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chief Robert Levendoske who passed away in January 2005.
Survived by: Surviving are her daughters, Jean Sleater of Tampa, FL, Gail Schlett of Reston, VA and Roberta Vansco of Fords, NJ, her grandchildren, Thomas Sleater, Donna Lawler and Susan Halligan and her great-grandchildren, Donna, Ryan, Reilly and Reece. Alsos surviving are six nieces and three nephews.
Visitation: Thursday, August 18, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Joseph Kukura Jr.
Life Dates: December 22, 1933 - August 18, 2005
Joseph Kukura Jr., age 71 died on Thursday at his home in Elizabeth. He had resided in Elizabeth for 33 years before moving to Fords 38 years ago.
Mr. Kukura was a Truck Mechanic with PSE&G; for 42 years retiring in 1997. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords, a member of IEW Local in Elizabeth and a member of the American Legion Post 471 in Iselin.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Joan De Stephen Kukura, his sons, Frank Berndt of Florida and Joseph Berndt of Middletown, his daughters, Joanne Forte of Florida, Linda Scoda of Edison, NJ and Mary Ellen Hobler of Edison, NJ. eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert and Richard Kukura, his sister, Mary Ellen Laveglio and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, August 21, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Francis X. Kish
Life Dates: October 18, 1927 - August 7, 2005
Francis X. Kish, age 77 of Metuchen, died on Sunday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Metuchen since 1959.
Mr. Kish was an electrical engineer at Westinghouse in Edison. He was a graduate of Drexel University with a BA in Electrical Engineering and a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marianne La Bance Kish who recently passed away on June 15, 2005.
Survived by: Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lynda Kish of Metuchen, NJ, his daughter, Susan Kish of Metuchen, NJ and his grandchildren, Chris and Alex. Also surviving are his sister, Dorothy Bukofsky of Woodbridge, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 10, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Mary Ann Kantra
Life Dates: August 1, 1916 - August 21, 2005
Mary Ann Kantra, age 89 of Perth Amboy, died on Sunday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was born and resided her entire life in Perth Amboy.
Mrs. Kantra was an assembler for Sobel Brothers in Perth Amboy. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church, a member of the Olive Street Senior Citizens of Perth Amboy and a member of Deborah Foundation.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Kantra who died in 1965, her daughter, Barbara J. Titolo in who died in 2004, and her granddaughter, Angela Titola who died in 1989.
Survived by: Surviving are her grandsons, .Joseph Titolo of Colonia and John Titola of Fords, her granddaughter, Maria Cathcart of NJ, seven great-grandchildren and her brother, Joe Dryl of Edison.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 24, 2005 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity RC Church, Perth Amboy.
