Richard R. Buonanno, 51, of New York City died on Sunday, July 9, 2000 at home.
Born in Rahway, he had lived in Westfield before moving to New York City 10 years ago.
Mr. Buonanno was an actor who appeared in the Broadway musical Hair, the 1970s version of King Kong and in several made-for-television movies.
He was also a freelance writer and worked selling tickets for the Shubert Theatre in New York City.
He was a member of the Actors Guild of New York.
Surviving are his parents, Ralph and Eleanor Buonanno, and a sister, Barbara Buonanno.
A Mass was offered on Friday, July 14, in the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.
Regina C. Brodersen
Regina C. Brodersen of Scotch Plains died on Sunday, July 16, 2000 in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Richmond Hill, N.Y., she had lived in Clark before moving to Scotch Plains in 1993.
Mrs. Brodersen had been employed for 24 years with Robert Hall Clothiers in Manhattan before retiring in 1977.
Surviving are a son, Frederick Brodersen; two brothers, Edward Zimmer and Louis Zimmer, and five grandchildren.
A Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today, Thursday, July 20, in St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
The funeral will be from the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.
George Collins, 78
George Bradley Collins, 78, of Phoenix, Ariz. died on Thursday, July 6, 2000 in Mesa, Ariz.
Born and educated in Westfield, he later lived in various parts of the state before relocating to Arizona many years ago.
Mr. Collins had been employed by Exxon for 31 years, retiring as District Manager for New Jersey. After moving to Arizona, he was active as a hospital volunteer.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Gertrude Collins; a son, Bradley Collins of Parker, Colo.; a daughter, Beth A. Collins of Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Jane Peterson of Westfield, and a grandson.
A memorial service was held in Tempe on Saturday, July 8, in the Tempe Mortuary. Interment will take place in Chatham, Mass.

Bertine De Bue, 82
Bertine De Bue, 82, of New Bern, N.C. died on Saturday, July 8, 2000 in the Twin Rivers Nursing Center in New Bern.
Born in Garwood, she had lived in Mountainside for 40 years before moving to North Carolina.
Mrs. De Bue was employed by the New Jersey Association of Retarded Citizens.
She was also a longtime volunteer for the Mountainside Rescue Squad.
Surviving are Charles F. De Bue, her husband of 55 years; three sons, Douglas De Bue, Thomas De Bue and Gary De Bue; a daughter, Charlene De Bue; three sisters, Carolyn Hyslip, Marilyn Rheinhart and Jeanne Loveland, and four grandchildren.
Services have been held.
Mary H. Bellman, 85
Was Volunteer; Member of Local Methodist Church
Mary H. Herren Bellman, 85, of Bridgewater died on Thursday, July 13, 2000 at the Arbor Glen Continuing Care Retirement Community in Bridgewater.
Born in Snyder, Ark., she lived during most of her childhood in La Feria, Tex. She also resided in Puerto Rico and London, England, before relocating to Westfield in 1964. She moved to Bridgewater in 1996.
Mrs. Bellman had been a business librarian for Pan American Oil Refinery in Texas City, Tex., where she worked for seven years before retiring in 1953.
She earned a Bachelor of Library Science Degree from Arkansas A & M University and received her Master of Library Science Degree from Louisiana State University.
She was a librarian at the Naval Base in South Carolina during World War II.
Mrs. Bellman served as a volunteer with the Friends of the Library in Westfield and with Overlook Women’s Auxiliary in Summit, where she logged 2, 500 hours.
She also volunteered with the Food Bank for the Interfaith Council and with the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, and was the founder and Honorary Chairperson of the Arbor Glen Continuing Care Retirement Community.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, David J. Bellman, in 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Sarah K. Bellman of Cranford; two sisters, Martha Reed of Pine Bluff, Ark. and Lizzie Withers of Tucson, Ariz.
The funeral service was held at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, July 17, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.

Joseph De Fiore, Sr., 75
Elks Leader; Had Retired From General Motors
Joseph C. De Fiore, Sr., 75, a lifelong resident of Scotch Plains, died on Thursday, July 13, 2000 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Mr. De Fiore had been an assembly line worker for the General Motors Corporation in Linden for more than 28 years before retiring in 1990.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post in Warren.
He was a former Exulted Ruler with the Elks Lodge No. 2252 in Watchung Hills and a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lyons. Surviving are his wife, Edith De Fiore; five daughters, Sharon Lenar, Linda De Fiore, Donna Mahachek, Patricia Banko and Susan Scaccia; two sons, Joseph C. De Fiore, Jr. and Jeffrey De Fiore; two sisters, Mary De Fiore and Angelina Wagner; a brother, Rocco De Fiore, and 10 grandchildren.

Dorothy Henderson, 76
Dorothy P. Henderson, 76, of Scotch Plains died on Friday, July 14, 2000 at the Ashbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotch Plains.
Born in Brooklyn, she had resided in Westfield for many years and in Lakehurst for 12 years before relocating recently to Scotch Plains.
Mrs. Henderson was a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietary Science.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Westfield and a member of the Board of Directors of the Westfield YWCA, where she served in several positions. Mrs. Henderson was also a member of the Woman’s Club of Westfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, William W. Henderson, on March 10.
Surviving are three daughters, Lynne M. Henderson of North Plainfield, Jill A. Berns of Gorham, Me. and Hope E. Schauer of Scotch Plains, and a grandson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 15, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood. Private interment took place on Sunday, July 16, in Catskill, N.Y.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Salvatore D. Salzano
Salvatore D. Salzano of Scotch Plains died on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 in the Clark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clark.
Born on Staten Island, he had lived in South Plainfield before moving to Scotch Plains in 1998.
Mr. Salzano had been a furnace engineer for the Kelite Chemical Company in Berkeley Heights for many years before retiring in 1980.
He was a life member of the Italian Progressive League of South Plainfield.
Surviving are Mary Salzano, his wife of 60 years; a son, Vincent Salzano; a daughter, Marianne Salzano; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Barbara Gartenberg, 55
Barbara Ann Gartenberg, 55, of Scotch Plains died on Friday, July 14, 2000 at home.
Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Scotch Plains for 28 years.
Surviving are her husband, Miles Harvey Gartenberg; two sons, Adam Gartenberg and Elliot Gartenberg, and a grandchild.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 16, in Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, N.Y.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union.
