Dorothy Hilliard Eoute
Life Dates: January 22, 1920 - May 30, 2004
Dorothy Hilliard Eoute, age 84, died on Sunday at the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. She was born in La Jose, PA and has resided in Metuchen since 1947.
She was a member of the Metuchen Golf & Country Club, an avid bridge player and accomplished golfer.
She was a member of the Reformed Church of Metuchen.
Her husband, John Eoute who died in 1989 and her daughter Janet White who died in 1985 predeceased her.
Survived by: Surviving are her grandchildren, Frank White of Milltown, and Joanne Perkins of South Plainfield, and her great-grandchildren, Frank Paul White, Heather May White, and Matt Perkins. Also surviving are her brother, David Hilliard and her sister, Barbara Kitchen both of Pennsylvania.

Mae Boris Feldman
Life Dates: May 3, 1931 - May 31, 2004
Mae Boris Feldman, age 73, died on Monday at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ and had been a resident of Woodbridge, NJ for 41 years.
Mrs. Feldman graduated from Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1948, where she was also a cheerleader, and from Upsala College in 1952 with a BA. She was a schoolteacher for the Perth Amboy Board of Education from 1952 to 1994. She was also a member of Congregation Adath Israel in Woodbridge, and a member of Hadassa Sisterhood.
Her brother, Moey Boris and her sister, Sylvia Marlin predeceased her.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Nicholas Feldman, her son, Alan E. Feldman, Ph.D. of Brooklyn, NY, her daughter, Janie L. Feldman, Psy.D. and her husband, Michael Lehner of Warren, NJ and her grandchildren, Samantha, Nicole and Rachel.
Services: Funeral Services: Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 12:15 p.m., Rabbi Milton Kula, officiating.

Burial will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
Shiva will be observed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the family’s residence in Woodbridge, NJ.

John Lorenzo
Life Dates: February 18, 1909 - June 12, 2004
John Lorenzo, age 95, died on Saturday at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. He was born in Portugal and had been a resident of Belford for many years.
Mr. Lorenzo was a maintenance worker for a tool and die company.
His wife, Elizabeth Lorenzo who died in 1973 predeceased him.
Survived by: Surviving are his sons, John Lorenzo of Las Cruces, NM and Richard Lorenzo of Florida, his daughter, Diane Smith of Las Cruces, NM, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 2:00p.m. at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Hopelawn, NJ.
Virginia M. Asarisi
Life Dates: September 18, 1916 - May 31, 2004
Virginia M. Asarisi, age 87, died on Monday at the Alameda Care Center in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was born in West Virginia and resided in Richmond Hill, NY before moving to Edison 22 years ago.
Mrs. Asarisi was a retired secretary for both Chanel Perfume in Queens, NY and B.F. Goodrich Rubber Co. in Long Island City, NY.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords and a former member of the Fords Womens Club.
Survived by: Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Michael Asarisi, her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Elsie Asarisi of Nesconset, Long Island, NY, and Joseph and Cathy Asarisi of Phoenix AZ, and her daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Joseph Werner of Mays Landing, NJ and Gigi and Rick Fazio of Fredon Township, NJ. Also surviving are her brothers, Michael, Joseph and Walter Sledz all of Michigan, her sister, Wanda Bialczyck of Michigan, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Phyllis O’Reilly
Life Dates: January 11, 1936 – May 28, 2004
Phyllis O’Reilly, age 68, died on Friday at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center in Camden, NJ. She was born and resided all of her life in Edison, NJ.
Ms. O’Reilly was a seamstress for a sweater factory in Perth Amboy for many years before retiring.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Parlin, a member of the American Legion in Edison and a member of the VFW ladies Auxiliary in Fords.
Survived by: Surviving are her sister-in-law, Jackie McCahe of Kresgeville, PA, her nephew, Dan Reilly of Manasquan, NJ, and her nieces, Marie Pavey of Kresgeville, PA, Jakki Lako of Fords, Kathleen Walls, Christine Walls and Dennis Walls, all of Benton, Arkansas.

Domenica Berlingieri
Life Dates: August 12, 1927 - April 22, 2004
Domenica Berlingieri, age 76, died on Thursday at her home in Hopelawn, NJ. She was born in Perth Amboy and moved to Roccomandolfi, Italy at the age of 7 where she spent her youth until moving back to Hopelawn in 1961.
She was a communicant of the Most Holy Rosary RC Church in Hopelawn.
She is the wife of the late Giacomo Berlingieri who died in 1994.
Survived by: She is survived by her daughter Giulia Buffolino of Hopelawn, and her sons, Nicholas of Hopelawn, John of Edison, August of Sayreville, and Antonio of Old Bridge. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jack E. Shangold
Life Dates: August 19, 1912 - February 13, 2004
Jack E. Shangold, 91, a retired physician, decorated WW II veteran, and Community leader died at on Friday at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly from complications of heart disease.
Dr. Shangold was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, where he lived most of his life before moving to South Amboy in 1998 and then to Moorestown, NJ in 2001. After graduating form Perth Amboy High School with honors in math and science, he received both bachelor's and medical degrees at Tulane University and internships at the University of Wisconsin and St. Margaret's in Pittsburgh. After practicing general medicine in Sergeantsville, NJ in 1940, he enlisted in the US Army because he felt it was his duty to serve our country in battle. Enlisting as a captain, he served as Battalion Surgeon for the 391st Armored Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Armored Division in France, Belgium and Germany. He later commanded the Medical Collecting Company with the 29th Infantry Division. Following an injury in Northern Ireland, he recuperated in England. A few days after D-Day, he traveled with his unit to Normandy and then through France, Belgium, and Germany, liberating captives and concentration camp victims, and eventually being honorably discharged as a major.
Among the many decorations he was awarded for his efforts as a soldier were the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in support of combat operations against the enemy, the Meritorious Service Plaque, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaigns Medal with four Bronze Battle Stars, the American Theatre Campaign Medal, and the WW II Victory Medal.
After the war, he completed specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital. He then practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Perth Amboy, NJ for 40 years.
According to his daughter, Dr. Mona Shangold of Moorestown, "he was an exemplary parent, who was as inspiring and encouraging as a father as he was a physician." His son, Dr. Gary Shangold of Tewksbury Township added "he was as decent a human being as one could ever hope to know."
Dr. Shangold was a devoted public servant throughout his life as a community activist and as a leader in the medical and Jewish communities. He was a Foundling Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a Charter Member of the New Jersey Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, a Member of the Executive Committee of the Peer Review Organization of New Jersey, and senior attending physician at the Perth Amboy General Hospital (now the Raritan Bay medical Center). In addition to serving as President of the Middlesex County Medical Society, President of the Perth Amboy Jewish Community Council, President of the Raritan Bay Area YMHA, and Trustee of the Central NJ Jewish Home for the Aged, he chaired the local United Jewish Appeal campaign and also led many other fund-raising and planning campaigns for local medical and Jewish organizations.
Dr. Shangold's wife of 43 years, Harriet Ginzberg Shangold, died in 1989.
Survived by: In addition to his daughter and son, Dr. Shangold is survived by three grandsons: Kenneth Mirkin and Harlen and Justin Shangold.

Louise C. Hermsen Wanko
Life Dates: January 1, 1919 - February 8, 2004
Louise C. Hermsen Wanko, age 83, died on Sunday at Praxis Alzheimer's Facility in Easton, PA. She was born in Brooklyn and had resided in Rahway for the past 54 years.
Mrs. Wanko was a homemaker who had devoted her time to her family. She was a member of the American Legion Unit #5 Ladies Auxiliary in Rahway and the Union County Heart Association. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Rahway and past President of the Franklin School PTA. in Rahway.
Her husband, William Wanko who died in 1977 and her son, Stephan C. Wanko who died in 1996 predeceased her.
Survived by: Surviving are her daughters, Arleen Risola of Tarpon Springs, Fl, Carol Heckerd of Holiday, Fl, Christine Makin of Hillsboro and Triena Milden of Easton, Pa, and her sons, William Jr. of Edison and John of Mojave of California. Also surviving are her brothers, John Hermsen of Whiting and Frank Hermsen of Rock Spring, Georgia, fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
