George Kepping, 72
Divisional Controller For Exxon Corporation for 35 Years
George Kepping, 72, of Mountainside died on Tuesday, April 20, 1999 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Westfield before moving to Mountainside two years ago.
Mr. Kepping was a Divisional Controller for the Exxon Corporation in many of their locations. He worked for Exxon for 35 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Westfield. He was also a member of the Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, where he was a past Junior Golf Chairman. He was a Boy Scout Leader.
He earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania and a Masters Degree in Finance from New York University in 1951.
He was a Navy Veteran, serving during World War II when he received seven citations.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Martha Jane Kepping; a son, Thomas C. Kepping of Highlands; two sisters, Ann Snyder of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, and Janet Ong of Florida; and three grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 24, at The Chapel of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield. Interment was held at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Arrangements were handled by the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield.

Samuel J. Coleman, 85
Samuel J. Coleman, 85, of Plainfield died on Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at home.
Born in Plainfield on May 14, 1913, he had been a Sexton for the United Methodist Church in Westfield and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, also in Westfield.
He was one of the oldest members of Centennial Lodge No. 400 in Westfield.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Coleman of Orange; a sister, Gracie J. Armstead of Westfield; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 27, at the Bethel Baptist Church.
Arrangements were handled by the Plinton-Curry Funeral Home in Westfield.
Giulia Arpino, 75
Giulia Arpino, 75, of Mountainside died on Thursday, April 22, 1999 at home.
Born in Naples, Italy, she had lived in Maplewood for many years before moving to Mountainside three years ago.
Surviving are her husband, Salvatore Arpino; seven sons, Phillip Arpino, Bruno Arpino, Ezio Arpino, Maurizio Arpino, Massimo Arpino, Elio Arpino and Gianfrano Arpino; a daughter, Elvira Oakerson; a brother, Mario Starace; two sisters, Maria Mahon and Elvira Starace; and 21 grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 26, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside.
Arrangements were handled by the McCracken Funeral Home in Union.
Jennie Price, 83
Jennie Price, 83, of Piscataway died Monday, April 26, 1999 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Born in New Rochelle, New York, Mrs. Price had lived in Plainfield before moving to Piscataway.
She was a dietitian at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield for 15 years, retiring in 1976.
She was an active member of the Democratic Committee of Piscataway and a member of the Altar Rosary Society of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are her sons, Walter J. Price of Lebanon Township, Albert J. Price of Hackettstown and James F. Price of Piscataway; a sister, Fran Newman of Scotch Plains; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Services will be today, Thursday, April 29, at 9 a.m. at Piscataway Funeral Home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Piscataway.
Adelaide Monsell, 78
Adelaide Quinn Monsell, 78, of Fanwood died Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Monsell had lived in Westfield before moving to Fanwood 48 years ago.
Mrs. Monsell was a retail manager at Sears in Watchung for 25 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph T. Monsell, who died in 1993.
Surviving is a daughter, Christine Monsell of Fanwood.
Services will be today, Thursday, April 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, Fanwood.
Entombment will take place at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
Corrine Allen, 92
Corrine Allen, 92, of Washington, D. C., died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 in the Woodside Center Nursing Home, Silver Springs, Maryland.
Born in Cumberland County, Virginia, Mrs. Allen lived in Westfield and East Orange before moving to Washington, D. C. in 1996.
Mrs. Allen had owned and operated a beauty shop in East Orange for more than 60 years.
She was a member of the Bible Study Group of the Elmwood United Presbyterian Church in East Orange.
Surviving is a sister, Willetta Smith.
Services were held at the Elmwood United Presbyterian Church in East Orange.
Arrangements were handled by the Woody “Home for Services” in East Orange.
Carleton H. Bunker, 95
Executive; Active in Westfield Organizations
Carleton H. Bunker, 95, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Thursday, April 22, 1999 at Indian River Estates Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Born in Brewer, Maine, he had lived in Westfield for many years.
Mr. Bunker had worked for the Diamond Expansion Bolt Company in Garwood, where he served as Sales Manager and Vice President for Sales before becoming President and Chairman of the Board.
After the company was sold to General Cable Company, Mr. Bunker served that company as Vice President until his retirement in 1967.
Before moving to Westfield, Mr. Bunker worked for the Munson Steamship Line and Travelers Insurance Company.
While living in Westfield, Mr. Bunker was a member of the Westfield Rotary Club, serving one term as President.
He was also President of the Wychwood Association, Chairman of the United Way campaign, a YMCA Trustee and a Trustee of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield.
Mr. Bunker also was active in the Junior Achievement Program in Union County.
He was a member of several yacht clubs, including the Bay Head Yacht Club, the Island Heights Yacht Club, the Stuart Yacht and Country Club and the Corinthian Yacht Club of New York City.
Mr. Bunker retired to Florida in 1987.
He was predeceased by his wife, Whilhelmina Pleister Bunker, in 1991.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Lovejoy and Barbara Faughnan, both of Warner, New Hampshire, and Sally Smith, of Kennebunk, Maine; and five grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held April 25 at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach, Florida.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Vero Beach Rose Society.
Anne Young, 82
Office Manager; Township Woman’s Club Member
Anne Morrow Young, 82, of Middlesex died Sunday, April 25, 1999 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
She was born in Elizabeth and had lived in Scotch Plains from 1955 to 1996, when she moved to Middlesex.
Mrs. Young was the office manger for Triangle Tool Co. in Union for 20 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of the Scotch Plains Woman’s Club and a volunteer for Westfield Meals on Wheels.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis S. Young, in 1996, and three brothers, James Morrow, Robert Morrow and Vincent Morrow.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy A. Vinciguerra; two sons, Richard L. Young and Robert S. Young; a sister, Henrietta Housman; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be today, Thursday, April 29, at 9 a.m. at Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
