Ruth Carolyn Kaiser, 84, of Freehold Township died on Saturday, October 28, 2000 at home.
Born in Millburn, she had lived in Highlands and in Westfield before moving to Freehold Township 20 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Edwin J. Kaiser; a daughter, Nancy Anne Mueller; a brother, Robert Berstler; two sisters, Doris Flaherty and Jeanette Feins; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home in Freehold.

Was Employed By Prudential Insurance Company
Augusta Schumitz of Fanwood, who celebrated her 100th birthday on May 18, 2000 died on Tuesday, October 24, in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Caldwell, she had lived in Maplewood for most of her life before relocating to Fanwood more than two years ago.
Miss Schumitz had been em ployed by the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark for many years before retiring in 1960.
She had been a Deacon with the Sanford Heights Presbyterian Church in Irvington.
Services were held yesterday, Wednesday, November 1, in the Haeberle & Barth Colonial Home in Union.
Lynda L. Wright, 60
1958 Graduate Of Westfield High School Was Artist
Lynda L. Wright, 60, of New York City and East Dummerston, Vt., died on Sunday, October 29, 2000 at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan.
Born in Elizabeth, she grew up in Westfield and was a member of the Class of 1958 at Westfield High School.
Ms. Wright, an artist, had her work exhibited at the Rosenfeld Gallery in Philadelphia. She was a member of the Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester, Vt. and the Windham Art Gallery in Brattleboro, Vt.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University and her Master of Fine Arts Degree from Pratt Institute.
She was a member of the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in Manhattan.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Hill Ferrara; a sister, Joyce Connell of Moorestown, and a brother, Richard W. Wright of Simi Valley, Calif.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 31, at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church. There will be a graveside service today, Thursday, November 2, at 11 a.m. at the Dummerston Center Cemetery in East Dummerston.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Atamaniuk Funeral Home in Vermont.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Alice Franklin, 63
Alice Novella Franklin, 63, of Scotch Plains died on Monday, January 3, 2000 in Plainfield.
A resident of Scotch Plains for 32 years, she was formerly a resident of St. Louis, Mo.
She was employed as a dietary technician for Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield for 10 years and had been an assembler for Crestline Industrial Company in Somerset for 20 years.
Surviving are two sons, Freddie Goodman of St. Louis, Mo. and Kevin Franklin of Scotch Plains; six daughters, Jackie Kroner, Janice Wade and Denice Gipson, all of St. Louis; Colleen Fields of Plainfield, Vera Franklin of Jacksonville, Fla. and Barbara Winsor of Westfield; her mother, Christine Fields of St. Louis; a sister, Carzella Jackson of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 8, at the Rose of Sharon Community Church in Plainfield.
Arrangements were under the direction of Judkins Colonial Home in Plainfield.
Madeline Scruggs, 85
Madeline Scruggs, 85, of Roselle died on Wednesday, January 5, 2000 at home.
Born in Hackensack, Mrs. Scruggs had lived in Westfield for 23 years before moving to Roselle 22 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Scruggs and William H. Scruggs, Jr., and five grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, January 8, in the G. G. Woody Funeral Home in Roselle.
Mary Carrona, 61
Mary Brown Carrona, 61, of Middlesex died on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at home.
Born in Kearny, she had lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Middlesex 23 years ago.
Mrs. Carrona had been employed as a teacher’s aide for the Middlesex Borough school system for nine and a half years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of the Scotch Fanwood Junior Women’s Club in Scotch Plains.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence Carrona; a daughter, Kimberly Stewart of Hillsborough, and two brothers, David Mitchell of Maryland and William Mitchell of New York.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 6, at the Middlesex Funeral Home in Middlesex.

Edith Rust, 90, of Westfield died on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at the Westfield Center, Genesis ElderCare Network in Westfield.
Born in New York City, she lived most of her life in Westfield.
Mrs. Rust was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westfield for many years and was active with various groups and clubs within the church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert L. Rust, in 1977.
Surviving are a son, Bruce R. Rust of Lake George, N.Y.; a daughter, Gail Wood of Westfield; four grandchildren two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 7, at the First Baptist Church.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield.
Edward Kaczmarek, 67
Edward J. Kaczmarek, 67, of Rockledge, Fla. died on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at home.
Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Linden, Scotch Plains and Watchung for 20 years before moving to Rockledge in 1998.
Mr. Kaczmarek had been a supervisor of building maintenance for Eastern Airlines for 33 years before retiring in 1988.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Joan Kaczmarek; two sons, David Kaczmarek and John Kaczmarek; a daughter, Linda Lantwicki, and seven grandchildren.
A Mass was offered on Friday, January 7, in St. Mary’s Stoney Hill Church in Watchung, following the funeral from the Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung.

Ruth E. Glasstetter, 78, of the Crestwood Village section of Whiting, died on Sunday, December 19, 1999 in the Community Medical Center of Toms River.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Union and Mountainside before relocating to Whiting in 1973.
Mrs. Glasstetter had been a registered nurse with Dr. Ben Schatman of Millburn for many years before retiring.
She was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Nurse Corps.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Whiting.
