Frances Presti
Frances Presti, 36, of Neptune died Oct. 29 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hazlet, she resided there prior to moving to Neptune two years ago. She held a master's degree. She was a member the Bayshore Women's Softball League for many years. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Presti, in 1990. She is survived by her mother, Dora Onofrio Presti of Hazlet; her partner, Jenn Martino of Neptune; a sister, Donna Cottrell of Brick; two brothers, Paul Presti of Union Beach and John Presti of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. John O. Bennett Jr.
Mr. Bennett, 78, of Freehold died Oct. 30 at Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Marlboro for many years before moving to Freehold 19 years ago. Mr. Bennett served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was an automobile dealer for Bennett's Garage, Marlboro from 1945 until his retirement in 1986. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Florence Campbell Bennett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Senator John O. Bennett III and his wife, Margaret, Little Silver; Bruce W. Bennett Sr., and his wife, Donna, Colts Neck; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold and funeral services were held at the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro. Matthew A. Chin
Mr. Chin, 19, of Red Bank died Oct. 14 in Hazlet. He was born in Red Bank. Mr. Chin was a retail clerk at Old Navy, Holmdel, and a student at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, where he participated in track, wrestling and football. He enjoyed motorcycling and playing with his five dogs. He is survived by his parents, Priscilla L. and James Chin of Hazlet; a brother, Ryan Chin of Middletown; a sister, Venus Chin of Matawan; his grandmother, Winnie Lau of New York City; and one niece. Dorothy M. Durkin
Miss Durkin, 91, of Red Bank died Oct. 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Washington, D.C., she lived in Hyattsville, Md., prior to moving to Red Bank 14 years ago. She was a supervisor at the Tax Assessor's Office for the District of Columbia, Washington, where she was employed for 30 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of the Monmouth Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis C. Durkin, in 1987. She is survived by a sister, Mary E. Cahill of Red Bank; a niece, Rita Kline of Red Bank; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial

Eugene Natusch
Mr. Natusch, 56, of Neptune died Oct. 20 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Neptune for the past five years. Mr. Natusch was employed as a ground service chief for Northwest Airlines, Newark, for the past 35 years. He was a member of Church of Grace and Peace Church, Toms River. He was predeceased by his father, George Natusch in 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Marie Pistone of Oceanport; three sons, Steven, Bryan and Ryan Natusch of Keyport, Monmouth Junction and Greenbrook, respectively; his mother, Palma Iacovelli Natusch of Woodbridge; a brother, George Natusch of Iselin; a sister, Jane Baliga of Fords; and a granddaughter. Funeral services were held at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge and interment was at the Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
Katherine Friede
Mrs. Friede of Tinton Falls died Dec. 17 at Renaissance Gardens and Rehabilitation Center, Tinton Falls. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she lived in Rumson before moving to Tinton Falls three years ago. Mrs. Friede was a social work supervisor in adoption services at Family & Children’s Services of Monmouth County, Freehold, where she was employed several years before retiring. She was a member of the League of Women Voters and Planned Parenthood. She was predeceased by her fist husband, Thomas McEvilley Jr. in 1974; and her second husband, Kenneth Friede in 1982. Mrs. Friede is survived by a daughter, Ellen M. Griffin of Gainsville, Fla.; a son, Thomas McEvilley III of New York City; a brother, Reed Bartlett of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Interment

Elizabeth Canonico Ravaschieri
Mrs. Ravaschieri, 96, of West Long Branch died Dec. 18 at Jersey Shore Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Red Bank, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Ravaschieri was a sewing machine operator before her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Ravaschieri, in 1988; a sister, Rose Di Guglielmo; and four brothers, Steve, Nunzio, Carmen, and Fred. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Lucille Ravaschieri Jr. of West Long Branch; a daughter and son-in-law, Antoinette and Walter Yarborough of Tinton Falls; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Gordon A. Cameron
Mr. Cameron, 72, of Long Branch died Dec. 19 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Long Branch. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2226, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; a life member of D.A.V. Jersey Shore Division, No. 13, and the Fleet Reserve Association; and a member of the Marine Corps League and National Association for Uniformed Services. He enjoyed woodworking and was a self-employed woodworker. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon Cameron in 1968. He is survived by his son, Roy Lee Cameron of Frostburg, Md.; his daughter, Betty Lou Cameron of Laurel, Md.; his mother, Maybelle VanPelt Cameron of Long Branch; two sisters, Christine Miller of Oakhurst, and Jean Stokes of Pennsylvania; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Johanna Maloney Fennell Cain
Mrs. Cain, 93, of Matawan died Dec. 16 at Bayshore Healthcare Center, Holmdel. Born in Bona Vista Bay, Newfoundland, Canada, she came to New York City and resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Matawan in 1977. Mrs. Cain was a homemaker. She was a former communicant of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. She was a member of the Leisure Timers, a charter member of Minnisink Village Senior Club, and a member of the Sunshine Girls, all at Minnisink Village, Matawan. She enjoyed time with her family, bingo, and crocheting. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Maloney, in 1966; a daughter, Rita Marney, in 1987; her first husband, Richard Maloney, in 1970; and her second husband, John Ralph Cain, in 1978. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Cathy Maloney of Brooklyn; four daughters, Marie McPartlin of Melbourne, Fla.; Irene McGrath of Red Bank; Diane Long of Aberdeen, Md.; and Janet Briggs of Freehold Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jose Fennell of Bona Vista Bay, Newfoundland; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Kenneth J. Essig
Mr. Essig, 67, of Middletown died Dec. 10 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Orange, he resided in Newark prior to moving to Middletown in 1955. He was a letter carrier at the U.S. Postal Service, Middletown, for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He also worked as a courier for the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Red Bank, for 24 years. He served with the U.S. Army, and was also a former boxer in the military. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Essig in 1998. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, K. Scott and Sue Essig of Tinton Falls; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Zambuto of the Leonardo section of Middletown; his brother, Glenn Essig of Georgia; two sisters, Marlene Wagner of Brick, and Judith Santiago of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Joseph C. Pignataro
Mr. Pignataro, 86, of Shrewsbury died Oct. 25 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, he resided in Shrewsbury for more than 40 years. He worked part time in circulation at the Asbury Park Press, Lakewood. Prior to that, he was vice president of operations at Edmund Associates, Newark and Atlanta, for 36 years. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a former communicant of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fair Haven Council. Mr. Pignataro is survived by his wife, LaVerne Hege Pignataro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph C. and Mary Pignataro of Spring Lake Heights, and Robert J. and Marge Pignataro, and Donald P. and Trish Pignataro, all of Shrewsbury; and nine grandchildren.
