Erin Rebecca Osterman, 3, died on Thursday, December 24, 1998 at a local hospital in Virginia Beach.
She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is survived by her parents, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Osterman, formerly of Westfield, and Commander Joyce Osterman; a sister, Mary Kathleen Osterman and a brother, Sean Andrew Osterman; a maternal grandmother, Betty Jane Gorham of Athens, Georgia; and her paternal grandparents, Harry and Malou Osterman of Sanford, North Carolina, formerly of Westfield.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Interment was held at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Lillian Martin, 93
Was Retired Nurse With New York City Hospital System
Lillian O’Beirne Martin, 93, of Westfield died on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at Ashbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotch Plains.
Born and raised in Elphin, Ireland, she came to the United States in 1921 and settled in Brooklyn. She moved to Westfield four years ago.
Mrs. Martin had been employed as a nurse by the City of New York hospital system, working at various hospitals for 25 years before retiring in 1967.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel Martin.
Surviving are a son, Patrick Martin; a daughter, Frances Martin Rowe; a brother, Thomas O’Beirne, and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, January 12, at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.
Elsie Yannuzzi, 74
Elsie Yannuzzi, 74, a former area resident, died on Friday, January 8, 1999 in Westminster, Maryland.
Born in Westfield, she had lived there before moving to Fanwood in 1964. She relocated to Maryland several years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Yannuzzi, in 1988. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Nugent of Scotch Plains and Laurie Campanella of Hampstead, Maryland; a son, Robert J. Yannuzzi, Jr. of Staten Island; three sisters, Mildred Frey of Scotch Plains, Mabel Hickel of Greenwood, South Carolina, Marjorie Mitzen of Middlesex; and two grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, January 12, in St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street in Westfield.
Martha Anthony, 87
Martha Anthony, 87, of Mountainside died on Sunday, January 10, 1999 at home.
Born in New York City, she had lived in New Providence before moving to Mountainside in 1971.
Mrs. Anthony had owned and operated C. Jay Terrace House of Fashions in Chatham with her daughter from 1957 until her retirement in 1963.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Iaione; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held today, Thursday, January 14, in the Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial in Summit.
Barbara A. Bigelow, 58
Barbara A. Bigelow, 58, of North Conway, New Hampshire died on Friday, December 25, 1998 at home.
Born in Bayonne, the daughter of Arthur Bigelow, Sr. and Janet Anderson Bigelow, she grew up in Westfield and had also lived in Maryland for several years before moving to North Conway in 1976.
Ms. Bigelow graduated from Westfield High School in 1958 and from Montclair University in Upper Montclair in 1962.
She was a teacher at Rahway High School in Rahway for five years and later at Gorham High School in New Hampshire for over 10 years.
Surviving are her mother, Janet M. Bigelow of Westfield, and a brother, Arthur C. Bigelow of Georgetown, Kentucky.
Private funeral services were under the direction of the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
Frank J. Reilly, 65
Research Associate For Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical, Summit
Frank J. Reilly, 65, of Dennis, Massachusetts died on Friday, January 8, 1999 at home.
Born in Newark, he had lived in Irvington and in Westfield from 1973 to 1988 before relocating to Cape Cod.
Mr. Reilly had been employed as a Research Associate for Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company of Summit, which later became Novartis Pharmaceutical.
He retired from Novartis in June of 1988.
He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Newark and from Rutgers University.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict as a Hospital Corpsman.
Mr. Reilly was a member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard in Chatham and of Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster, Massachusetts.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Paula M. Fischer Reilly; two daughters, Tracey Reilly of Dennis and Maureen Reilly of Stamford, Connecticut; a son, Michael Reilly of Gillette, and a sister, Christine Paffendorf of Martha’s Vineyard.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, January 12, at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster.
Interment took place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Hallett Funeral Home in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

Marian Green, 86
Marian Green, 86, of Westfield died on Sunday, December 27, 1998 at home.
Born in Philadelphia, she had lived in numerous places in the United States before settling in Westfield in 1942.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Garden Club of Westfield for many years. She received an honorary membership for giving many years of service.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Green, in 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn Green of Denville and Gregory Green of Lyndon Center, Vermont; a daughter, Gail Parizeau of Scotch Plains; a sister, Elaine Ventura of Roselle; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, December 30, at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street in Westfield. Interment was private.
Memorial donations may be made to either the American Red Cross or to the Salvation Army.
Leroy E. Hagan, 78
Gentech Supervisor; Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame Member
Leroy E. Hagan, 78, of Daytona Beach, Florida died on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at home.
Born in Joliet, Illinois, he had lived in Roselle from 1960 to 1987, when he moved to Daytona Beach.
Mr. Hagan had been a supervisor for Gentech, Inc. in Linden for 20 years before retiring in 1984.
He served as a Marine based in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991 for having played on semi-professional basketball club teams, such as the Hilltoppers in Joliet, while he was in his ’20s. The Hilltoppers were Illinois’ state basketball league winners.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Anne Bannon Hagan; six sons, Ed Hagan of Bound Brook, Dave Hagan of Fanwood, Jim Hagan of Bridgewater; Bob Hagan of Houston, Texas, Pat Hagan of Roselle and Mike Hagan of Willingboro; two daughters, Carol LaVolpe of Point Pleasant and Mary White of Smithville, Maryland; a brother, Robert Hagan of Port Orange, Florida; a sister, Annabelle DeLong, also of Port Orange, and 20 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, January 13, at the Taggart-Chamberlain Funeral Home in Bound Brook, followed by a Mass at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Bound Brook.

Grandmother of Two; Owned Decorating Services for 25 Years
Arlene Wilcox Cummings of Scotch Plains died on Friday, January 8, 1999 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, she lived in Scotch Plains since 1968.
Mrs. Cummings owned and operated Decorating Services, an advertising display company in South Plainfield, with her husband for the past 25 years.
She was a member of the South Plainfield Business Association.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry D. Cummings; a daughter, Rosanna Breneiser of Franklin Park; a son, Steve Cummings of Scotch Plains,
