Alfred A. Russell
Mr. Russell, 90, of Little Silver, died Sept. 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Bloomfield, he resided in Rumson and Short Hills before moving to Little Silver in 1979. Mr. Russell was vice president of sales at Chevron Oil Co., Vectra Fibers Division, New York City, before his retirement. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence M. Kelly Russell. He is survived by a son, J. Brian Russell, Little Silver; two daughters, Susan E. Russell, Little Silver, and Barbara Russell, Palo Alto, Calif.; a brother, Sam Russell; three sisters, Julia, Anne and Mat; and two grandchildren.
Marion M. Fournier
Mrs. Fournier, 78, of Middletown died Aug. 27 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Bayonne, she resided in Fair Haven before moving to Middletown 53 years ago. Mrs. Fournier was a homemaker. She was a personnel specialist at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, retiring in 1993. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Miller, this year. Mrs. Fournier is survived by her husband of 57 years, George E. Fournier; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patrice Fournier and Brian May of the Lincroft section of Middletown, and Denise Fournier Easton and Kenneth Easton of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a sister, Lois V. Miller of Fair Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
Arnold Samuel Dvorin
Mr. Dvorin, 66, of Neptune City, died Aug. 29 at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Bayonne prior to moving to Neptune City in 1960. He was an electrical specialist at Pirelli Corp., Bayonne, where he was employed more than 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. His memberships included the Asbury Jordan Masonic Lodge No. 142 F&A.M.; Tall Cedars, of Lebanon Asbury Forest; Loyal Order, of Moose Lodge No. 1549, Point Pleasant; and Benevolent Protective Order, of Elks No. 128, and American Legion Post No. 0346, both Asbury Park. He is survived by a sister, Colette C. Zigale, formerly of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; a nephew; and several cousins. Interment
was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
Howard J. Poduska
Mr. Poduska, 83, of Middletown died Feb. 2 at home. Born in Newark, he relocated to Rumson in the 1950s and later moved to Middletown. He was president at the Bank of New York, New York City, where he was employed for more than 40 years before his retirement. He also served on the board of directors at Sterling Bank, New York City, and Glenview State Bank of Illinois. Mr. Poduska was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Jerman Poduska, in 2003. He is survived by a son, Leroy Phillips; four nieces and two nephews. Entombment was at Fair View cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Dorothy Brownell Lorenzo Johnsen
Mrs. Johnsen, 68, of Shrewsbury, died Jan. 25 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Red Bank, she resided in Shrewsbury the past 25 years. She was a self-employed freelance artist, donating several of her pieces to local charities. She was a member of St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church, Rumson. She was one of the original founders of Second Hand Rose at Monmouth Day Care Center, Red Bank. She enjoyed time with her family, and playing the piano. She was predeceased by her father, Michael Lorenzo; and a daughter, Susan Johnsen in 1995. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frederick C. Johnsen of Shrewsbury; her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Scott and Meredith Johnsen of Oceanport; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Naiman of Little Silver; her mother, Elenora "Brownie" Carman of Fair Haven; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was at St. George’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Rumson. Interment

Ruth Sandy Wardell Snow
Mrs. Snow, 63, of Eatontown, died Jan. 26 at home. She resided in Red Bank and Shrewsbury prior to moving to Eatontown 12 years ago. She was a secretary at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, retiring after 14 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Shrewsbury, and a volunteer for its vacation Bible school. She enjoyed time with her family. Mrs. Snow is survived by her husband, Coy L. Snow; two sons, Coy L. Snow Jr. of Shrewsbury and Jeffrey D. Snow of Florida; two daughters, Nancy R. Snow of Red Bank and Sandra F. Sierra of Middletown; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held at First Assembly of God, Shrewsbury. Interment

Kathleen Gedrys Schuetz Kelly
Mrs. Kelly, 69, of Toms River died Feb. 7 at home. Born in Kansas City, Kan., she resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Toms River in 1991. She was a teacher at Cedar Drive School, Colts Neck. Prior to that, she taught at the River Street and Oakland Street schools, Red Bank. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lakewood, where she was a member of the pastoral council; and a former communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Rumson Women’s Club. She enjoyed time with her family, travel, and the theater. Mrs. Kelly was predeceased by her first husband, Robert A. Gedrys, in 1983; and a granddaughter, Tori Regan. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Donna Gedrys of Pittsburgh; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristine and Peter Bennett of Little Silver, and Victoria and Tim Regan of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ted Zahn of Denver; and seven grandchildren. Richard Pinsley
Mr. Pinsley, 82, of Rumson died Jan. 13 at home. Raised in Chicago, he resided in Rumson for more than 60 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel with more than 28 years of service. Following retirement, he held several positions in sales, engineering and construction. He was a member of B’nai Israel of Rumson. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. Following his commission, he attended advanced training in the Signal Corps and was one of the first 10 officers trained in experimental Instrument Landing System. He was then attached to the Eighth Air Force in England to install the system and train crews, and also installed the system for the Atlantic Transport Service, Scotland, and the Royal Air Force. He completed studies at the Air Force Command and Staff College, and served as a reserve squadron training officer. He is survived by his wife, Doris Kislin Pinsley of Rumson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shawn Pinsley Illo and Frank Illo; and Blair Pinsley Richter and Kurt Richter; and three grandchildren. Charles L.S. Sherman
Mr. Sherman, 85, of Red Bank died Jan. 18 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Auerbach, Germany, he resided in Mount Holly prior to moving to Red Bank in 1989. He was a retired employee in the security department at General Electric, Philadelphia. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed time with his family, and the outdoors. He is survived by his sons, Robert Stewart Sherman of Metuchen, and Charles Arthur Sherman of Mount Holly; and his sister, Jan Seidman of New York City. Arrangements were by John E. Evelynne Bialek Bilinkas
Mrs. Bilinkas, 81, of Rumson died Jan. 23 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she resided in East Orange and Irvington before moving to Rumson in 1967. Mrs. Bilinkas was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles A. Bilinkas, in 1997; two brothers, Milton and Edward Bialek; and a sister, Henrietta Kilpatrick. Joseph T. Ruscio
Mr. Ruscio, 79, of Rumson died Jan. 11 at home. Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., he resided in Long Branch prior to moving to Rumson. Mr. Ruscio was an electronics engineer at Bell Labs/AT&T, Holmdel, before his retirement. During his tenure at Bell, he worked on the Telstar and ECHO projects. Prior to that, he was employed at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Rumson, where he served as an elder, Sunday school teacher and senior high youth group adviser. He volunteered at the Juvenile Conference, Rumson, and Aslan Youth Ministries, Red Bank, and coached Rumson Little League. Mr. Ruscio is survived by his wife of 53 yeas, Edna J. Pomphrey Ruscio; two daughters, JoAnne E. Ruscio and Joyce A. Repoli; a son-in-law, Albert Repoli; and one grandson. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Gladys M. Raniere
Mrs. Raniere, 57, of Rumson died Jan. 24 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was secretary of the billing department for the Borough of Rumson. Prior to that, she was employed at Aumack Oil Delivery Service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rumson. She was the ex-captain, treasurer and trustee of the Rumson First Aid Squad, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rumson Fire Department. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Joseph P. Raniere of Rumson; her brother, Al Monaco of California; two sisters, Joyce Stalfa of California, and Carolyn Monaco of Allenhurst; and several nieces and nephews.
