Anne Rosko, 75
Former Registered Nurse At Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center
Anne Troiano Rosko, 75, of Fanwood died on Sunday, September 5, 1999 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Edison to Patrick and Helen Cheh Troiano, she had lived in Edison and Plainfield before moving to Fanwood over 45 years ago.
Mrs. Rosko, a registered nurse, had worked at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center after World War II as Head of the Nursing Art Department.
She subsequently worked for a Plainfield physician and retired from nursing in 1950.
She went through nurses cadet training at Fort Dix during World War II and graduated from the Muhlenberg School of Nursing in 1945.
Mrs. Rosko served as the President of the Alumni Association of the Muhlenberg School of Nursing for four years.
She was a member of the American Nursing Association and the New Jersey State Nurses Association.
She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Mrs. Rosko was a volunteer Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Joseph W. Rosko; a son, James Rosko of Point Pleasant; a daughter, Terry Bauer of Midlothian, Va., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday, September 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.
Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, September 9, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fanwood Rescue Squad, 218 Forest Road, Fanwood, 07023.
Dr. Robert W. Scott
Was Executive At Exxon; Environmental Coordinator
Dr. Robert W. Scott of Bridgewater died on Thursday, September 2, 1999 at his daughter’s home in Cockeysville, Md.
Born in Akron, Ohio he had resided in State College, Pa. and in Westfield before moving to Bridgewater in 1993.
Dr. Scott began his career with the Exxon Research and Engineering Company of Florham Park in 1942, and was with the Products Research Division until 1956.
From 1956 to 1963, he was with the Office of Science Liaison.
He was the Manager of the Technical Information Division from 1963 to 1967, and served as a Senior Staff Advisor of the Petroleum Staff from 1967 to 1968.
Dr. Scott was the Environmental Coordinator for Conservation Technology from 1968 to 1979, when he retired from Exxon.
He graduated from the University of Akron in Ohio in 1936, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree.
In 1938, he received his Master of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University, and in 1942 earned his Doctorate from the same school.
Dr. Scott was a member of the New Jersey Professional Engineers, a 50-year member of The Society of Automotive Engineers and a member of the Administrative Committee for the Exxon Education Foundation.
He was a 10-year board member of the Westfield Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Dr. Scott was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, where he was a Trustee, a Deacon and an Elder.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary M. Scott, in 1988.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Thomas W. Scott of Davis, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia Anne Ballentine of Cockeysville and Roberta “Bobbie” Chambers of Winston Salem, N. C.; two brothers, Frank Scott of Michigan and Lewis Scott of Akron, Ohio, and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 13, in the Second Presbyterian Church of Rahway, 1221 New Brunswick Avenue in Rahway.
Interment will follow at The Revolutionary Cemetery in Westfield.
Arrangements are being handled by the McCriskin Home for Funerals in South Plainfield.

Doris Latimer, 75
Doris Palmquist Latimer, 75, of Fairfax, Va., formerly of Westfield, died on Monday, November 8, 1999 in the Fairfax Nursing Center in Fairfax.
Born in Stanton, Iowa on November 13, 1923, she had lived in Plainfield for more than 25 years before moving to Westfield in 1998.
She relocated to Virginia three months ago.
Mrs. Latimer had taught elementary school in Iowa in the 1940s.
She was a volunteer with many organizations and served as a Deacon and Elder at the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield.
She was predeceased in 1989 by her husband, Robert Edmond Latimer, whom she married in June of 1946.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas Latimer and Bruce Latimer; a daughter, Jeanne; a brother, Raymond Palmquist, and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Crescent Avenue Church on Saturday, November 13.

Vincent J. Perla, 68
Retired Police Officer; Parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church
Vincent J. Perla, 68, of Fanwood died on Monday, November 8, 1999 at home.
Born in Brooklyn, he had lived in Brentwood, Long Island before moving to Fanwood 18 years ago.
Mr. Perla had been a police officer for the Village of Asharoken in Asharoken, N.Y, receiving numerous citations during his career.
He retired in 1989 after 21 years of service.
He was a member and Past President of the Asharoken Policemen’s Benevolent Association.
Mr. Perla was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953.
He was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Surviving are his wife, Frances M. Licata Perla; two daughters, Susan E. Perla of New York City and Lisa M. Perla of San Francisco; a son, Vincent F. Perla of Union, and a sister, Frances Ceculapo of Brooklyn.
A Mass was offered on Friday, November 12, at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, following the funeral from the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.
Interment took place at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.

Virginia Berzenskis, 90
Had Owned Echo Lodge in Mountainside
Virginia J. Berzenskis, 90, of Stroudsburg, Pa. died on Thursday, November 4, 1999 in the Laurel Manor Nursing Home in Stroudsburg.
Born in Kenosha, Wis., she had lived in Mountainside before moving to Stroudsburg many years ago.
Mrs. Berzenskis and her husband, the late Klevis Berzenskis, had owned the Echo Lodge in Mountainside for many years before retiring 27 years ago.
Surviving is her brother, Alan J. Zimmer.
Private services were arranged by the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in East Stroudsburg.
Lydia K. Gecha, 75
Lydia K. Moravetsky Gecha, 75, of North Plainfield died on Tuesday, November 9, 1999 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in the Ukraine, she had lived in Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield 35 years ago.
Mrs. Gecha was a homemaker. She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in New Brunswick and was a member of its Krylos choir and the church’s Sisterhood.
She was also a member of the Society of Ukrainian Women of America.
Surviving are her husband, Damian Gecha; a son, Dr. Steven R. Gecha; three daughters, Mary Gerus of Scotch Plains, Julia D. Porkaro of Dedham, Mass. and Oksana M. Gecha of Pennington, and five grandchildren.
A Mass was offered on Saturday, November 13, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, following the funeral from the Boylon Funeral Home in New Brunswick.
Interment was at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in South Bound Brook.
Robert Cooke, 83
Chemical Engineer For 44 Years at PSE&G; Company
Robert T. Cooke, 83, of Fanwood died on Wednesday, November 10, 1999 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Millington, he lived in Fanwood for the past 48 years.
Mr. Cooke graduated in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark.
He had been a chemical engineer with Public Service Electric & Gas Company in Maplewood for 44 years before retiring in 1981.
Mr. Cooke was a member of the All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Scotch Plains and of the Old Guard of the Plainfields.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Sarah B. Rountree Cooke; a son, Thomas Fred Cooke of Woodbridge; a daughter, June Cooke Mahon of Holmdel, and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield on Friday, November 12.
