Dr. Richard F. Feathers, 70
Designed Programs for Management Training
Dr. Richard F. Feathers, 70, of Cranford died on Saturday, June 24, 2000 at his summer home in Corinth, N. Y.
Born in Canandaigua, N. Y., the son of the late Francis and Aliene Feathers, he had lived in Westfield from 1957 to 1989.
He had resided in Cranford for the past 10 years.
Dr. Feathers had been the owner and President of Feathers & Associates, Inc., based in Westfield, where he designed and conducted management training programs in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Europe and South America for various clients, among them General Foods and Goodyear.
He retired in 1984.
A graduate of the Canandaigua Academy, he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from the University at Albany.
He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Business Administration from New York University.
In addition to heading his own consulting firm, he served with Drake-Beam and Associates, Behavioral Sciences Technology, Inc., the Management Research and Development Institute and the American Management Association.
He was also a marketing professor at Rutgers University from 1956 to 1970.
For his contributions to the field of management education, Dr. Feathers received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University at Albany in 1995.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield and the Adirondack Forty-Sixers Mountain Climbing Organization.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey Koch Feathers, whom he married in 1950; two sons, Richard Feathers, Jr. of Coopersburg, Pa. and Robert Feathers of Roslindale, Mass.; two daughters, Cynthia Feathers of Westfield and Susan Feathers of Philadelphia; a brother, Gary Feathers of Miami, Fla., and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in September at the First United Methodist Church of Westfield.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc. in Corinth, N. Y.

Sarah V. Aschenbach, 83
Had Been School Board Secretary for 20 Years
Sarah V. Aschenbach, 83, died on Sunday, June 25, 2000 at Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Wilmington, N. C.
Born in Scotch Plains, she had lived there until moving to North Carolina in 1995.
Mrs. Aschenbach had been a bookkeeper for the Scotch Plains Board of Education for 20 years, before retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the Scotch Plains Women’s Professional Club and a communicant of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, also in Scotch Plains.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Siar.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Luerssen and Sandra Weiner; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 29, from the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains, followed by a Mass at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church.

Alice S. Ebert, 90
Alice S. Ebert, 90, of Cape Coral, Fla. died on Sunday, June 25, 2000.
Born in Brooklyn on February 17, 1910, she had lived in Westfield before relocating to Cape Coral in 1968.
Surviving are a nephew, John J. Schade of Roselle Park; two nieces, Alice Jean Hansen and Deborah Jones, both of Westfield, and a sister-in-law, Margaret Schade, also of Westfield.
Private arrangements were under the direction of the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Fort Myers, Fla.
James B. Moffat, Sr.
James B. Moffat, Sr. of Scotch Plains died on Thursday, June 29, 2000 at home.
Born in New York, he had lived in Jersey City before moving to Scotch Plains 42 years ago.
Mr. Moffat had been a truck driver for the Wall Street Journal for 33 years before retiring five years ago.
He was a member of the Newspaper and Mail Delivers Union of New York.
He served in the United States Merchant Marine during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Moffat; two daughters, Diane Pietrucha and Nicolette Joffe; a son, James B. Moffat, Jr.; a sister, Barbara Moffat, and eight grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, July 3, in the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.
Elizabeth Bolognini, 87
Elizabeth Bolognini, 87, of Boonton Township died on Sunday, July 2, 2000 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville.
Born in Westfield, she had lived in Mountain Lakes before moving to Boonton Township 32 years ago.
Mrs. Bolognini had been a legal secretary in New York City for several years during the 1930s.
She was a member of the Mountain Lakes Club.
Surviving is a daughter, Betty Anne Bolognini.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in The Community Church, 48 Briarcliff Road in Mountain Lakes.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mackey Funeral Home in Boonton.
John O’Grady, 53
John O’Grady, 53, of Elizabeth died on Sunday, July 2, 2000 at home.
Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Scotch Plains, California and Florida before moving to Elizabeth in 1990.
Mr. O’Grady was a self-employed carpenter in the New Jersey area for many years.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Millie O’Grady; a daughter, Amy O’Grady; his mother, Florence O’Grady; a brother, Bruce O’Grady, and a sister, Jacqualine O’Grady.
Private services were arranged by the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.
Agnes Andrejek, 87

Agnes Andrejek, 87, of Mountainside died on Sunday, July 2, 2000 at home.
Born in Bethlehem, Pa., she had lived in Newark before moving to Mountainside 40 years ago.
Mrs. Andrejek was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Mountainside.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her husband, Stephen Andrejek; a daughter, Linda Nuzzo; a brother, Frank Terplan, and a grandchild.
A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, July 7, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, following the funeral from the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield.

Had Been Owner Of Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant
Rose J. Caruso, 79, a lifelong resident of Kenilworth, died on Monday, August 14, 2000 in the Westfield home of her daughter, Deborah Riordan.
Mrs. Caruso had owned and operated Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant in Kenilworth for many years before retiring many years ago.
Surviving, in addition to her daughter, are two sons, Peter F. Caruso and Robert Caruso; two sisters, Mary Latona and Lillian Convery; a brother, Joseph Lugara, and five grandchildren.
A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, August 17, in St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Kenilworth, following the funeral from the Mastapeter Funeral Home in Roselle Park.
