JAMES C. WALKER SR., 63, of West Long Branch died Dec. 23, 2001 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York, he had lived in West Long Branch since 1952. Mr. Walker was the owner and operator of the Eatontown Amoco Service Station from 1976 to 1986. He also worked for Coast Office Supply, Shrewsbury, for eight years, and was a security guard at Monmouth Park Race Track, Oceanport, for 15 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch, where he was a member of the choir for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Red Bank Barber Shop Quartet. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lenora "Jeanne" DeSantis Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Christine Walker of Jewette City, Conn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Stephen Ferraro of Middletown; a brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Joanne Walker of Eatontown; a sister, Carolyn Walker of Colts Neck; three grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Dorothy C. DeSantis of Long Branch; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Susan DeSantis of Middletown; four nephews; and one niece. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Jerome Church, followed by interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
TIFFANY J. KELL, 22, of Long Branch died Dec. 26, 2001 at home. She was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident. Miss Kell was employed by Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop, West Long Branch. She was predeceased by her father, Michael Kell. She is survived by a daughter, Destinee DaVilla of Texas; her mother, Cathy Okupski Kell of Ocean Township; a brother, Michael Kell of West Long Branch; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. WINIFRED LOUISA SUTTON, 91, formerly of Long Branch, died Dec. 11, 2001 at her daughter’s home in Bicker, England. Born in London, she spent most of her life in England, and lived in Long Branch 12 years, up until 1999. She was a communicant and member of the folk choir of St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Irene Ellis of Bicker, England; and Annette and Ed Borgia of Long Branch; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be offered Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch.
PATRICIA A. HOURIHAN (nee TIBBETTS), 72, of Shrewsbury died Dec. 18, 2001 at Princeton Medical Center, while living with her daughter Kathleen O’Hara of Lawrenceville. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Keyport and Metuchen before moving to Shrewsbury in 1984. Mrs. Hourihan was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a volunteer at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Mrs. Hourihan was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John P. Sr., who died in April. She is survived by a son, John P. of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara T. Pizonka of Valley Forge, Pa., and Kathleen E. O’Hara of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Judith Ihle of South Carolina and Nancy Tibbetts of Arizona; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Church, followed by interment at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Keyport. FRANK J. SLOVENZ JR., 67, of Holmdel died Dec. 27, 2001 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Red Bank, he had lived in Keyport before moving to Holmdel 38 years ago. He was an electrical engineer. He was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, Hazlet. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard, in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his father, Frank Slovenz of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Frank III of Eatontown; three daughters, Marylynn Furiato of Shrewsbury, Lisa Anna Slovenz of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Nancy Lee Slovenz of Holmdel; a sister, Diane O’Neill of Holmdel; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
CHRISTIAN M. RUSSO, 25, of Keyport died Dec. 31, 2001 in Glen Falls, N.Y. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Union Beach prior to moving to Keyport. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Louis and Doreen Russo of Middlesex; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Gerald Cohen of Keyport; three brothers, Louis T. Russo Jr. and Michael Russo, both of Keyport, and Zachary Russo of Middlesex; his stepsister, Kelly Ickes of Keyport; and his stepbrother, Paul Cohen of the East Keansburg section of Middletown. A funeral Mass was offered at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery.
ANNA M. BELLINO, 68, of Howell died Dec. 31, 2001 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she had lived there before moving to Howell in 1997. She was a receptionist at St. Peter’s College, Jersey City, from 1978 to 1980. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She is survived by her husband, Raymond A.; three sons, Raymond Jr. of Jackson; Perry M. of Atlanta and John of Aimont, N.Y.; two daughters, Marie Heitner of Fords and Margaret Rooney of Tinton Falls; a sister, Phlecia Fitzpatrick of Maryland; and 10 grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

Born in Jersey City, she lived in Keyport and Metuchen prior to moving to Shrewsbury more than 30 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Her hobbies included gardening, and volunteering at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John P. Hourihan Sr., earlier this year. She is survived by her son, John P. Hourihan of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara T. Pizonka of Valley Forge, Pa., and Kathleen E. O’Hara of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Judith Ihle of South Carolina, and Nancy Tibbetts of Arizona; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church. SYLVIA BELMONTE, 78, of Wall Township, died Dec. 22, 2001 in Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Wall Township. She was born in Brooklyn. Surviving is a daughter, Lorna Hood of Tinton Falls; and one granddaughter.
