Mr. Di Chiara, 71, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Jan. 31 at home. Born in Newark, he resided there prior to moving to Belford 26 years ago. He was a salesman at Hobart, Manasquan, retiring four years ago. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Forte. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Theresa Fertall Di Chiara; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence J. and Denise Di Chiara of Toms River; a daughter and son-in-law, Jenna and Chris Keale of Shrewsbury; a sister, Marie Vastano of South Plainfield; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Feb. 3 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Sandra Lee Brown Slonski
Mrs. Slonski, 62, of Hazlet, died Jan. 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Cinnaminson, she resided in Long Branch and Philadelphia before moving to Hazlet 35 years ago. Mrs. Slonski was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She is survived by her husband, Walter A. Slonski; and a daughter and son, Karen and William Slonski, both at home. Lucien G. Trenet
Mr. Trenet, 81, of Shrewsbury, died Jan. 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in France, he had been a resident of Shrewsbury for the past 40 years. Mr. Trenet was the owner of Lucien Trenet Plumbing and Heating, Shrewsbury, from 1973 to 2004, when he retired. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was predeceased by a son, Serge P. Trenet, in 1987. Mr. Trenet is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida Ferrigno Trenet; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bernard and Catherine Trenet of Fleetwood, Pa., and Sylvain Trenet of Ocean; a daughter and son-in-law, Yoland and Gary Ruggiero of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Allen Morton Whiting
Mr. Whiting of Shrewsbury died Jan. 2 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Eatontown for 40 years prior to moving to Shrewsbury. He was employed at the pictorial, visual and audio laboratory at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 34 years, retiring in 1977. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the West Long Branch Fire Co. (exempt), and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy V. Whiting. He is survived by a sister, Ruth Sniffen of Whiting; a brother and sister-in-law, Sheldon and Josephine Whiting of Salinas, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Fan Whiting of Brick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyliss R. and Alan Peakes, and Valerie M. and Salvatore DiLieto, all of Bluffton, S.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Delphine “Del” Murdico
Mrs. Murdico, 95, of Little Silver, died Sept. 5 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Red Bank, she had been a resident of Little Silver for the past 48 years. Mrs. Murdico was a beautician at various salons in the Red Bank and Fair Haven area for several years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Mrs. Murdico was predeceased by her husband, Angelo J. Murdico; and six siblings. Mrs. Smith, 73, of Red Bank, died Sept. 5 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Red Bank four years ago. Before her retirement, Mrs. Smith was a child care provider at Gill Hodges Lanes, Brooklyn, for 26 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a former communicant of Queen of Heaven Roman Catholic Church, Brooklyn. Mrs. Meehan, 94, of Rumson, died Aug. 30 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided in Rumson the past 60 years. She was the owner and operator of a local business for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Raymond Meehan; a brother, Edward W. Rowan; and a sister, Elizabeth M. Fred J. Bruno
Mr. Bruno, 82, of Clermont, Fla., died Aug. 17 at Lake Harris Health Center, Leesburg, Fla. Born in Red Bank, he had lived in Shrewsbury before moving to Clermont 15 years ago. Mr. Bruno was a salesman at Shrewsbury Volkswagen and was the former proprietor of Riverside Bowling Lanes, Red Bank. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a former communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Mr. Bruno is survived by his wife, Carol Swoll Bruno; four sons, James F. Vincent Havens
Mr. Havens, 69, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 22 at his home. Born in Jersey City, he had been a longtime resident of Middletown. Mr. Havens was a salesman before his retirement seven years ago. He served in the Air National Guard during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown; and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 2179 and the Knights of Columbus, both Middletown, and the Irish Federation of Monmouth County. Mr. Havens is survived by his wife of 37 years, Margaret (Powers) Havens; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Vincent and Matthew Havens, both of Belford, Paul and Jennifer Havens of Holmdel, and Christopher Havens of Long Branch; and two grandchildren. John C. Muller
Mr. Muller, 90, of Tinton Falls, died Aug. 11 at Renaissance Gardens at Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls. Born in Fort Lee, he resided in Ocean Beach and New Milford prior to moving to Tinton Falls 1 1/2 years ago. He was a director of Ocean Beach Yacht Club, Ocean Beach, and supervisor at the former Public Service of New Jersey. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Theresa Madden Muller in 2001. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Mel Greenberg of Rumson; and two grandchildren. Burial
