MARIE A. BEARD, 54, of Spring Hill, Fla., died Aug. 9 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Freehold Township before moving to Spring Hill 10 months ago. Mrs. Beard had been employed as a bookkeeper at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital. She was a former communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. Mrs. Beard was predeceased by a son, Richard A., who died in 1990; and a brother, Joseph Masella, in 1999. Surviving are her husband, Joseph E.; and a daughter, Laura M. Beard of Brick Township. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Chapel, Freehold, followed by entombment in St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
DONALD JOHN FROELICH, 63, of Freehold Township, died July 28 at home. He was born in Newark and had resided in Maplewood and Florham Park before moving to Freehold Township 34 years ago. Mr. Froelich was the president and owner of Trionic Associates, Great Neck, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, Va.; Upsala College, East Orange; and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison. He was a member of the Seaside Park Yacht Club; a past commodore of the Bristol Sailing Club; a member of the Young Republicans Club of Monmouth County; and a fencing instructor in West Long Branch. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Bayer Froelich; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Santina Bombaci Froelich, and Karl Froelich; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Reuben Howard; a sister, Joanna Pearson; and three grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the Prospect Presbyterian Church, Maplewood, under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Memorial donations may be made to Jersey Shore Medical Center Hospice, Neptune, or to any cancer fund.
THOMAS EDISON McKNIGHT, 49, of Howell, died Aug. 5 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune Township and had resided in Freehold before moving to Howell 35 years ago. Mr. McKnight was a cook at the Howell Coffee Shop, Howell, for seven years, retiring five years ago. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church, Freehold. Mr. McKnight was predeceased by his mother, Ollie Belle Fonville, who died in 1999; and a sister, Jeanette McKnight in 1968. Surviving are his stepfather, Henry Richardson of Howell; a stepbrother, Aaron Jones of Lakewood; a niece; a nephew; a grandniece; and a grandnephew. Funeral services were held at Faith Tabernacle Church followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
ESTELLE LEVANDOWSKI STURGIS, 91, of Jackson died June 27 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Born in South Amboy, she lived in Jackson for the past 17 years. She was employed as a waitress at Ye Cottage Inn, Keyport, for 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Ira C. "Bud" Sturgis, in 1999; her sons, Raymond and Robert Leonard; a brother, Charles Levandowski; and sisters, Frances Busch and Mary Paradowski. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Julia Leonard of South Amboy; stepson Ronald and daughter-in-law Betty Sturgis of South Amboy; stepson John and daughter-in-law Chris Sturgis of South Amboy; stepson Wayne Sturgis of Atlantic City; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Services were arranged by Gundrum Funeral Home, South Amboy, with interment at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville. Memorial donations may be made to South Amboy First Aid Squad, P.O. ROBERT H. NEBIOLO, 57, of Highlands, died June 17 at home. He was born in Newark and had resided in Freehold before moving to Highlands four years ago. Mr. Nebiolo was a manager for Howard Press, a printing firm in Linden. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Freehold Township, where he was a former member of the church choir and church council. Mr. Nebiolo was a member of the Thendra Mountain Club in the Harriman Mountains, New York. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Bowen Nebiolo; a daughter, Sheri Nebiolo of Marlboro; and two brothers, James Noble of Red Bank, and Richard Nebiolo of Flemington. Funeral services were held at the Hope Lutheran Church, Freehold Township, under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
THOMAS "TUCKER" H. ROE JR., 80, of Freehold Township, died June 17 at Jackson Health Care Center, Jackson. He was born in Adelphia and was a lifelong resident of the Adelphia-Freehold area. Mr. Roe was a salesman at Freehold Lumber Co. for more than 20 years before retiring in 1988. He was a life member of the Adelphia Fire Company; a member of the Howell Grange; a former member of the Howell Township Men’s League; a former member of the Knights of Pythias, Adelphia; and a former member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Adelphia. Mr. Roe was predeceased by his wife, Virginia C., who died in 1987. Surviving are a son, T. Bradford "Brad" of Freehold Township; a daughter, Lisa Knoll of Jackson; a brother, Stanley "Buck" of Adelphia; four sisters, Vivian Davison of Adelphia, Pearl DeBow of Pinellas Park, Fla., Dot Mele of Camp Hill, Pa., and Carrie Knox of Howell; and one grandson. Funeral services were held at the C.H.T. Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. CLAUDE ROMANO, 89, of The Villages, Howell, died May 21 at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. Born in New York, he resided in Newark before moving to Howell in 1972. A graduate of the Newark College of Engineering, Mr. Romano was an engineer with General Electric, Bloomfield, for more than 30 years, and then with Tenney Engineering, Union, for 25 years, retiring in 1972. He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, Freehold Township. He was a member of the Senior Social Club and the Friendship Club, both of The Villages. Mr. Romano was predeceased by his wife, Marian, who died in 1992. Surviving are two sons, Claude R. of Matawan, and Peter S. of Linden; a brother, Michael of Cedar Grove; a sister, Lucille Mellilo of Newark; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The C.H.T. ROSE V. DRESSEL, 87, of Marlboro, died June 29 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Bay Ridge for 25 years before moving to Freehold Township eight years ago. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Henry F.; a daughter, Diana Fradella of the Morganville section of Marlboro; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church, Marlboro, followed by interment at Lutheran Cemetery, Maspeth, N.Y. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
LOLA SNYDER-BOGINSKI, 39, of Howell, died June 11 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Newark, she had resided in Woodbridge before moving to Howell in 1969. Mrs. Snyder-Boginski was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Freehold Township. Surviving are her husband, Stan Boginski; two sons, Joshua Boginski and Benjamin Rosenthal, both at home; three daughters, Marie Bianco, Jessica Bianco and Rhonda Bianco, all of Middletown; her parents, Gladys and Ronald Snyder of Howell; and six brothers, Scott Snyder of Eatontown, Ronald T. Snyder of Berkeley, William Snyder and Christopher Snyder, both of Jackson, Keith Snyder of South Toms River, and Louis Snyder of Howell. Funeral services were held at the C.H.T.
