JOSEPH P. STUART, 74, of Middletown died Sept. 18 at home. Born in Scranton, Pa., he resided in Middletown for 42 years. He was an intelligence research specialist with the U.S. Army, Fort Meade, Md., for 25 years, prior to retirement in 1989. He was also a naval photographer and chief intelligence specialist in the U.S. Naval Reserve at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., until 1989. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member and past president of the Society of Photographic and Scientific Engineers of Monmouth County, as well as an institutional representative for Boy Scouts of America, Troop No. 32 of River Plaza. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Downie E. Stuart of Middletown; two sons, Jeffrey Stuart of Key Largo, Fla., and Gregory Stuart of Acton, Mass.; a daughter, Ann S. Babeuf of Rumson; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with a Mass at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment

ANNA MAE FRITZINGER, 78, of Keyport died Sept. 20 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was born in Keyport and lived in Virginia 15 years prior to relocating in Keyport in 1988. She was a clerk for Bay Drugs, Keyport. She was a member of the Matawan First Baptist Church. She was a former member and president of the Keyport First Aid Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her parents, James R. and Dorothy Wilson Walling; her sister, Corinne Dunham; her first husband, Damon P. Meyer, in 1968; and her second husband, David Fritzinger, in 1983. She is survived by four daughters, Donna Heyer of Totowa, Linda Gorman of Woodbridge, Karen Heyer of Hazlet, and Anna Mae Zschoche of New Bern, N.C.; and four grandchildren. CECILIA "GERTY" HAMMILL, 88, of Keyport died Sept. 21 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she moved to Keyport 19 years ago. She was a homemaker, and recently retired sales clerk for McCoroy’s Department Store, Jersey City. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, and a member of the senior’s group at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, and Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She was also a member of the Keyport Seniors, as well as the Irish Federation of Monmouth County, and the "60 Club," Matawan. She was predeceased by her husband, James Hammill, in 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Eileen Henriksen of Holmdel; a son, Raymond Hammill of Union Beach; a brother, Arthur Bollhardt of Forked River; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 29 nieces and nephews. DOROTHY T. TARQUINIO CARNEY, 65, of Middletown died Sept. 22 at her daughter’s home in Freehold. She was born in New York City. She was an executive secretary for Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, for 20 years upon retirement in 1997. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in the New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was a volunteer for the Telephone Pioneers of America, Holmdel. She was predeceased by a sister, Lucy DiMicelli, in 1983. She is survived by her son, Adam Carney of Middletown; her daughter, Diana Carney of Freehold; three brothers, Anthony Tarquinio of Pinebrook, N.Y., John Tarquinio of the Bronx, N.Y., and Alfred Tarquinio of Mastic, N.Y.; and three sisters, Rose Vanacore of Lincroft, Nancy Buonocore of North Port, N.Y., and Sister Mary Tarquinio of Morristown. ELAINE "ELLIE" AMODIO ARCEIL SILENO, 66, of Middletown died Sept. 22 at home. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Middletown for 32 years. She owned and operated Terrace Design, Middletown, and retired in 1997. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, George Sileno of Middletown; a son, George Sileno of Brielle; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Joyce Sileno of Red Bank; a sister, Anne DeSarlo of Old Bridge; and one granddaughter. ARNOLD J. MASTELLONE SR., 78, of Brick died Sept. 22 at home. Born in Queens, N.Y., he lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn, N.Y., and Belford before moving to Brick nine years ago. He was an engineer for N.Y. Telephone for 32 years prior to retirement in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War II European Campaign. He was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Brick, and former communicant, Eucharistic minister, and usher at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in the New Monmouth section of Middletown for 30 years. He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Vince Lombardi Knights of Columbus, Leonardo. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight and past Faithful Navigator at Bishop McFaul Knights of Columbus, Long Branch, and member of the Middletown Elks. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Della Buccolo Mastellone of Brick; a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Robyn Mastellone Jr. of Howell; two daughters and a son-in-law, Veronica Munro of Red Bank, and Della and James Policastro of Middletown; a brother, Charles Mastellone Jr. of Brooklyn; and five grandchildren. JOHN J. CZECHOWSKI SR., 80, of Middletown died Sept. 23 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he moved to Middletown in 1962. He was a factory worker for Colgate/Palmolive, Newark, for 43 years, upon retirement in 1982. He was predeceased by his wife of 28 years, Mary Danyil Czechowski, in 1975; and his son, John Czechowski Jr., in 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Lang of Middletown; two sisters, Blanch and Frances Czechowski, both of Secaucus; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. ELIZABETH GLENNON, 72, of Hazlet died Sept. 23 at home. She was born in Kingston, N.Y., and previously lived in Elizabeth before moving to Hazlet eight years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Glennon, in 1969. She is survived by her son, Anthony Glennon of East Millstone; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. WILLIAM R. KOLODZIEJ SR., 58, of Union Beach died Sept. 23 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Union Beach. He was a material handler for International Flavors & Fragrances for the past 37 years. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. He was a member of the Union Beach First Aid Squad for 38 years, as well as the Monmouth County 11th District First Aid Council, Union Beach. He was a member of the. Union Gardens Fire Company, the Union Beach Special Police, and the Juvenile Conference Committee, Union Beach. He was also past scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop No. 134, Union Beach, and a member of Bayshore Youth and Family Services, Matawan. He is survived by his wife, Joan Elliott Kolodziej of Union Beach; two sons, William R. Kolodziej Jr. of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Wayne and daughter-in-law Jeannine Kolodziej of Hazlet; his mother, Eleanor Sappah of Keyport; three brothers, Joseph Kolodziej of Pinellas Park, Paul Kolodziej of Columbia, and David Kolodziej of Middletown; and three grandchildren.
