MICHAEL JACONSKI, 46, of Middletown died July 30 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Hoboken, and moved to Middletown 25 years ago. He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight, East Brunswick, for 17 years. He was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Jaconski; a sister, Leona Jaconski; and his parents, Anthony and Sophie Jaconski. He is survived by his wife, Alberta Wierciszewski Jaconski of Middletown; a son, Justin D. Jaconski of Middletown; four brothers, Anthony Jaconski Jr. of Carlstadt, Edward Jaconski of Hoboken, Joseph Jaconski of Jersey City, and Thomas Jaconski of Union City; two sisters, Elizabeth Bartoli of Carlstadt, and Dianne Magerko of Westfield; his mother-in-law, Anna Wierciszewski; his brother-in-law, Thomas Wierciszewski; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ference; and several nieces and nephews. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with a Mass to be celebrated Aug. 3 at St. Catherine’s Church, North Middletown. Interment

MAUREEN ATKACHUNAS FEENEY, 52, of the Leonardo section of Middletown died July 31 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Union City, she lived in Middletown Township since 1981. She was an office manager for Middletown Plumbing & Heating Supply for 17 years. She was predeceased by her husband, John Feeney, in 1999. She is survived by her brother, Robert Bunce of Leonardo; and her caregivers, Robert and Ilene Ryan of Wayside. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with interment at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.
SOPHIE B. MAJESKI PARKS-POSHELUK, 88, of the Belford section of Middletown died July 26 at home. Born in New Brighton, N.Y., she previously lived on Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Belford seven years ago. She was a nurses aid at Seaview Hospital and Nursing Home, Staten Island, for 28 years before retiring in 1974. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in the New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her two former husbands, Stephen Parks in 1956, and Peter Posheluk in 1969; two sons, Stephen Parks in 1997, and John Parks in 1936; a daughter, Marie Parks in 1944; two brothers, Hank Majeski in 1994, and Ed Majeski in 1991; and a sister, Sadie Bask in 1988. She is survived by a son, William Parks of Staten Island; two daughters, Sophie Abecker of East Brunswick, and Eileen Ryan of the Belford section of Middletown; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with a Mass at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Interment
was at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Staten Island.
ALLEN VAN DUSEN, 82, of Matawan died July 27 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Mansfield, Pa., he lived in Keyport before moving to Matawan 40 years ago. He was an electrician for Utilities Line Construction, Jenkinstown, Pa., for 35 years upon retirement in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Pearl McClure Van Dusen, in 1992. He is survived by a son, Robert Van Dusen of Aberdeen; a daughter, Catherine Doyle of Matawan; a brother, James Van Dusen of Palm Coast, Fla.; a sister, Regina Could of Stafford, Conn.; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport, with entombment at Holmdel Cemetery.
KENNETH L. HAHN SR., 87, of Fair Haven, died Oct. 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Columbus, Neb., he was raised in Burwell, Neb., and lived in Fair Haven the past 50 years. He worked in administration for the U.S. Postal Service, Shrewsbury for 15 years. He spent his career in the U.S. Army, and received the Purple Heart while serving in the Pacific during World War II. He also served with the Signal Corps at Fort Monmouth and with the European Occupation Forces in Germany. He was predeceased by his wife, Lola A. Appleby Hahn, in 1980; and his parents, Frederick and Flora Long Hahn. He is survived by three sons, Kenneth L. Hahn of Califon, Robert W. Herndon of Little Silver and Dennis R. Hahn of Hollis, N.H.; a daughter, Doris Dean of Shrewsbury; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Interment

KATHLEEN "KITTY" FUNDERBURK EMMONS, 87, of Fair Haven died Nov. 10 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Cheraw, S.C., she lived in Fair Haven until 1996 when she retired to Cheraw. She was a nurse at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for 42 years, and was in charge of the emergency room for 15 years before retiring in 1978. She was a lifetime member of the Fair Haven Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a Gold Star Mother. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Emmons, in 1969; a son, William "Billy" Emmons; and her parents, Chester and Etta Laney Funderburk. She is survived by her son, Edward "Buddy" T. Emmons of Fair Haven; a daughter, Bonnie Tilly of Fair Haven; her brother, Joseph Funderburk of Raleigh, N.C.; her sister, Anne Louise Burns of Red Bank; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jonathan and Jason Tilly; and three great-grandchildren, Shannon, Gunnar and Ryan Tilly. Interment
was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
WILLIAM P. LYNCH, 83, of Middletown died Nov. 16 at home. He was born in Jersey City. He was an executive vice president for Prudential Insurance Co., Newark, for 45 years. He was involved in fund raising for the United Way of Newark. He was predeceased by his parents, William P. and Catherine Dillon Lynch; a brother, Francis Lynch; a sister, Theresa Gibbs; and a grandson, Dean Raymond. He is survived by his wife, Irene D. Lynch of Middletown; two sons, William P. Lynch of Eatontown, and Kevin Lynch of Jensen Beach, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law,, Barbara and James Raymond of Lincroft; two sisters, Mary Halleran and Loretta Toussaint, both of Kearny; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with a Mass celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Entombment was at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Middletown.
PATRICIA BERNSTEIN, 60, of Sea Bright died Nov. 7 at home. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, she previously resided in Howell and Westfield before moving to Sea Bright six years ago. She was a real estate agent for Burgdorff Realtors, Middletown, where she achieved "Million Dollar Club" status. Prior to that, she was employed with the Bank of America, California, as well as owner of Le Petit Salon, Westfield. She was a member of the Shrewsbury Power Squadron boating association. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence H. Bernstein, in July; a son, Scott Stevens, in 1987; and her father, Mozart Vallee. She is survived by her daughter, Karolyn Wray of Sea Bright; a son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Chris Stevens of Garwood; a stepdaughter, Sheree Volak of Lorain, Ohio; a stepson, Michael Bernstein of Kendrick, Idaho; her mother, Geraldine Perault Vallee; and two sisters, Charlotte and Karo Vallee, all of Quebec; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. Services were held at United Methodist Church, Sea Bright, under the direction of the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
GEORGE E. SPERRY, 88, of Keansburg died Nov. 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, he lived in Massapequa Park, Long Island, N.Y., prior to moving to Keansburg. He was a traffic manager for the National Distillers & Chemical Corp., New York City, for 25 years before retiring in 1975. He was predeceased by his parents, Marcello and Caterina Speronello. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Miller Sperry of Keansburg; two sons, Daniel Sperry of Rockaway and George M. Sperry of Wilmington, N.C.; a daughter, Lorraine Asman of Little Silver; a sister, Elsie Keating of Fort Lee; and four grandchildren. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
