ROBERT BORTON STRATTON, 82, of Middletown, died Nov. 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Spring Lake, he lived in Moorestown and Ocean Grove before moving to Middletown 43 years ago. He was an accountant auditor for Nabisco Corp., Hanover, for 20 years and retired in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 351st Heavy Bomb Group in the European theater and African-Middle Eastern theater, and attained the rank of captain. He was a member of Toastmasters, Red Bank. He was a treasurer for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 142, Middletown for several years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Rohland Stratton; two sons, Richard Stratton of Barrington, R.I., and Laurence Stratton of San Francisco; a daughter, Leslie Zomro of Rumson; two brothers, Edward Stratton of South Carolina, and Donald Stratton of Tinton Falls and Florida; and six grandchildren. Services were held at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church, Red Bank, under the direction of the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O. MICHAEL W. ROSLOWSKI, 47, of Rumson, died Oct. 13 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, he lived there prior to moving to Rumson 37 years ago. He was a traction aide at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. He was predeceased by his mother, Doris Curry Roslowski, in 1990. He is survived by his father, William Roslowski; and a sister, Mary A. Roslowski, both of Rumson. Arrangements were under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Mass was celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Interment
was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
DOROTHY RAYNOLDS O’REILLY, 92, of Holmdel died Oct. 16 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Sante Fe, N.M., she previously resided in Shrewsbury and Red Bank for 60 years before moving to Holmdel. She was a homemaker, as well as founding organizer of the New Jersey Association for Retarded Children. She was predeceased by her son, P. Dennis O’Reilly, in 1967; and her parents James and Brownie Baum Raynolds. She is survived by two sons, John B. O’Reilly of Worcester, Mass., and Edward L. O’Reilly of Pasadena, Calif.; a daughter, Patricia A. Doelger of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
MARY ELEANOR ROBERTSON, 84, of Red Bank died Oct. 20 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Kingston, Pa., she lived in Elizabeth for 60 years before moving to Red Bank 16 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Newark. She was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Kenneth Robertson, in 1989; her twin sister, Ruth Rhone, as an infant; a brother, John Rhone, in 1998; and her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Jones Rhone. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan Carol and Raymond Tomek of Upper Saddle River, and Mary Lynn and Joseph Francis McNamara Sr. of Middletown; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. was at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
HUGH J. GUNTHER, 77, of Shrewsbury died Oct. 22 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Trenton, he resided in Shrewsbury for 50 years. He was an electronic engineer at Fort Monmouth for 25 years, before retiring in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Renee Rancich Gunther, in 1994. He is survived by two sons, Todd A. Gunther of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Kenneth S. Gunther of Bangor, Maine; a daughter, Denise Clymore of Bradenton, Fla.; a grandson, Christopher Clymore; and two granddaughters, Dana Clymore and Mallory Gunther. Services are at John E. ONAS J. DAVIDSON, 80, of Rumson died July 13 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Sea Bright, and lived most of his life in Rumson. He was a marine engineer for 46 years for the Grace Lines before retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Merchant Marine during World War II and received commendation from the Russian government. He was a member of the Masonic Shriners Lodge in Chile, where, in addition to Nova Scotia, he owned a home. He was predeceased by his brother, Christian Frank Davidson, in 1997. He is survived by an aunt, Jennie Shires of Rumson; a cousin, William Shires of Rumson; two nieces; and two nephews. Services were arranged by John F. DOROTHY M. VOGAN GILLEY, 83, of Little Silver died July 13 in Costa Rica. Born in County Cavan, Ireland, she previously lived in Eatontown. She was a retired licensed practical nurse for Stoffers Agency, Long Branch. She served as a U.S. Army flight nurse during World War II in the Queens Royal Air Force. She is survived by a son, Roy Gilley of Costa Rica; two daughters, Carolyn Neuhaus of Eatontown, and Nancy Nelson of Little Silver; three sisters, Meta Willson of Belfast, Ireland, Patsy Foy of Tempo, Ireland, and Irene Johns of Wayside; two brothers, Willie and Eric Vogan of County Cavan; and six grandchildren. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
HOWARD J. KINNALY, 54, of Middletown died July 22 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Middletown for the past 25 years. He was a bond manager for Ernst & Co., N.Y., for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, having attained the rank of sergeant. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth, and the Knights of Columbus, Vince Lombardi Council. He was predeceased by a brother, Francis, in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nora Mary Kinnaly of Middletown; a son, Colin Kinnaly of Highlands; four brothers, Kevin Kinnaly of Keansburg, Eugene Kinnaly of Jacksonville, Fla., Brendan Kinnaly of Syracuse, and Raymond Kinnaly of Bayside, N.Y.; and a sister, Virginia Douglas of Austin, Texas. MARIE ANN DEMAIO CHERSEVANI, 54, of Middletown died July 20 at home. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Middletown for the past 22 years. She was a secretary for Planned Parenthood, Red Bank, for eight years before retiring in March. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Anthony Chersevani Sr. of Middletown; two sons, Edward Chersevani of Linden, and Anthony Chersevani Jr. of Old Bridge; a daughter, Deborah Vollaro of Old Bridge; two brothers, Joseph DeMaio, and Frank DeMaio, both of Staten Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. THELMA FAYE ADAMITE SCHWEIZER, 90, of Red Bank, died July 20 at Avanti at Red Bank Nursing Home. Born in Keyport, she had lived most of her life in Middletown. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Carl Schweizer, in 1958. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Pearsall of Chesapeake, Va., and Doris A. Farrell of Lancaster, Pa.; a brother, Elden Adamite of Maggie Valley, N.C.; and three grandsons. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
