CHARLES RICHARD ADAM, 74, of Sanibel Island, Fla., died May 5. Mr. Adam was a former resident of Woodstock, Vt., Middletown and Rumson. He moved to Monmouth County in 1960. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and participated in the V12 Education Program, and attended RPI in New York and Stevens Tech. He served as a U.S. Naval Aircraft Gunner and ordinance man during World War II. He was co-founder and owner of COMAR Industries, a subcontractor to U.S. Rubber, and was the co-founder and owner of Cascade Industries/Buster Crabbe Swimming Pools International. During this time, Mr. Adam helped design and manufacture the bellows apparatus for the Iron Lung Breathing Machine. Mr. Adam loved woodworking and woodcarving. He was a talented furniture and oil painting restorer, and an ardent antique and art collector. He recently participated in online auctions. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He spent his early childhood in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians. Mr. Adam was predeceased by his parents, Sarah and George G. Adam. Surviving are his wife, Marie T. Adam; a son and daughter-in-law, George C. and Cordie Adam, of Middletown; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Catherine B. and Brad Thorpe, of Fair Haven; a stepson and daughter-in-law, J.P. and Maria Baar, of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Donna Fleming, of San Diego, Calif.; and grandchildren, Charles "Chase" Adam, Chelsea and Cameron Thorpe, and J.P. Baar Jr. Services were under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. There will be a private family service at George Washington Memorial Cemetery, Paramus.
PATRICIA A. (GRADY) McNAMARA, 70, of Oceanport, died May 3 at home. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had lived in Oceanport since 1968. Mrs. McNamara retired last year after 25 years of service with Monmouth University, West Long Branch, where she was an office manager. Mrs. McNamara was predeceased by her husband, John J.; and a daughter, Linda Kozonasky, both in 1994. She is survived by two sons, John J. III, Ewing, and Mark, Oceanport; a daughter, Barbara Conover, Oceanport; and eight grandchildren. Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
was at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arney-town. The family requests that memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, 07702.
HELEN MARIE GECSEY GULICS, 68, of South River, died Dec. 22 at her son’s home in Millstone Township. She was predeceased by her husband, John Gulics, in 1987; and her sister, Marie Schneider. She is survived by two sons, John Gulics of Sayreville, and Jeffrey Gulics of Millstone Township; a daughter, Laura Allen of Madison; a brother, Julius Gecsey of California; two sisters, Ethel Kirsch and Carol Perkins, both of California; and five grandchildren. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Burial was at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown. LORA ANITA YANEZ, 87, of Millstone Township, died Dec. 21 at home. Born in Olive, N.Y., she had resided in Bloomfield before moving to Millstone 37 years ago. Mrs. Yanez was a retired factory worker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville section of Millstone. Mrs. Yanez was predeceased by her husband, Juan, who died in 1961; a brother, Enio Polverini, in 1985; and a sister, Ada Yezzi, in 1962. She is survived by a sister, Mary Pawelak of Millstone; a sister-in-law, Grace Polverini of Springfield, Mass.; and four nieces. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
MICHAEL J. ROZANSKY JR., 60, of Freehold Township, died Nov. 15 in Cream Ridge, Upper Freehold. Born in Jersey City, he had resided in Secaucus before moving to Freehold Township in 1962. Mr. Rozansky was a self-employed farmer for many years. He was also co-owner of Rozansky Brothers Trucking Co., Cream Ridge. He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Freehold Township; and a member of the Gun, Bow and Rod Hunting Club, Cream Ridge. Surviving are his wife, Eva Atchley Rozansky; two sons, Michael J. III and Joseph, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Emily, all at home; his mother, Emelia Rozansky of Secaucus; two brothers, Richard of Cream Ridge and Albert of Freehold Township; and two sisters, Eleanore Reinl of Secaucus and Joan Moran of Hartford, Conn. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. ANNA GELBER FAMILIETTI, 93, of Trenton, died Oct. 30 at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation, Hamilton Township. Mrs. Familietti was born in Hungary and had resided in Trenton for more than 40 years. She was a seamstress for the Amalgamated Textile Co., Trenton. Mrs. Familietti was a member of the Perrineville Jewish Center, Perrineville section of Millstone Township. She was predeceased by her husband, John. Surviving are three brothers, Morris Gelber of Scottsdale, Ariz., Aaron Gelber of Fayetteville, N.C., and Martin Gelber of Hightstown; a sister, Esther Gellman of Hightstown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Perrineville Jewish Chapel followed by interment at the Perrineville Jewish Cemetery, both of Millstone. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
JOSEPH CHRISTOPHER MATTHEWS, 65, of Millstone Township, died Sept. 10 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Freehold, he had resided in Marlboro before moving to Millstone 10 years ago. Mr. Matthews was a farmer for C. Casola Farms, Marlboro, for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1954. Surviving are two brothers, Charles of Boonville, N.Y., and John of North Carolina; a sister, Ruth Ann Brown of Farmingdale; 11 nieces and nephews and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews. The funeral service and interment were held at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
VINCENT S. "POP" CLARK, 82, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Aug. 31 in Edison Estates Care Center. Surviving are his wife, Augusta Nye Clark; two sons, James of Texas and Thomas of Cape Coral, Fla.; two daughters, Judith Martins of Millstone and Diane Fassett of Parlin; a sister, Margaret Kunkel of Florida; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
ERNEST G. CHRIST, 83, of Monroe, formerly of Milltown, died Sept. 12 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Louise Olszewski Christ; three daughters, Maureen Bollinger of Westlake Village, Calif., Kate Ventura of Wading River, N.Y., and Laura Axthelm of Westport, Conn.; a son, Peter Lynch of Chelmsford, Mass.; two sisters, Lorna Smith and Esther Garner, both of Cannonsburg, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Crabiel Home for Funerals, with services at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Milltown. Interment
was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
PHYLLIS E. NARDINE, 65, of East Brunswick died Sept. 9 at home. Surviving are her husband, James A.; two sons, Michael J. Nardine of Helmetta and Paul J. of Monroe; two daughters, Fran Ondayko of Monroe and Lisa Choborda of East Brunswick; two sisters, Margaret Acocella of Verona and Anna Vuono of York, Pa.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Larry Fama; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, with a funeral liturgy at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge.
