DOMINICK "ROCKY" DE MATTEO, 88, of Sayreville died Sept. 27 at home. His wife, Agnes McCutcheon De Matteo, died in 1961. He was the owner of Crestview Motors, Sayreville. Surviving are a son, Dominick R. "Nick" of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a daughter, Linda De Matteo of Farmingdale; eight sisters, Rita Jiosne of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, Polly Calacari of Keyport, Rose Mancini of Maine, Vera Tenore of Florida, Anne Dietrich, Theresa Stabile and Mary Kelley, all of the Whiting section of Manchester, and Camille Langan of Middletown; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment
was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
SUSAN O’REILLY HETHERINGTON, 99, of Old Bridge died Sept. 23 in Old Bridge Manor. Her husband, Thomas, died in 1990, and a daughter, Mary Ellen Hetherington, died in 1929. Surviving are three sons, John Hetherington of East Brunswick, Paul Hetherington of Wilton, Conn., and James Hetherington of Scottsdale, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass at St. Bartholomew Church, East Brunswick. Interment
was in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, N.Y.
ANN JURCISIN JANDRIS, 79, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Sept. 23 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Frank J. Jandris, died in 1997. Surviving are a son, Frank J. Jandris Jr., and a daughter, Susan Jandris, both of Parlin; three brothers, Joseph Jurcisin of Bloomfield, John Jurcisin of Freehold and William Jurcisin of Bayonne; and three sisters, Marie Sweeney of Parlin, and Eleanor Reynolds and Alice Jurcisin, both of Bayonne. Services were arranged by Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin, with a Mass at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Cremation was private.
ALICE KITCHEN, 86, of Sayreville died Sept. 24 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, William F. Kitchen, died in 1943. Surviving are a son, Frank Kitchen of Sayreville, and two grandsons. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment

JAMES VINCENT PAMPINTO, 70, of Sayreville died Sept. 28 at home. Surviving are his wife, Doris Tuttle Pampinto; a son, James of Clifton; a daughter, Maria Stratton of the Parlin section of Sayreville; two brothers, Joseph and Salvatore Pampinto; four sisters, Constance De Martino, Elizabeth Pacinello, Eleanor Luisi and Josephine Franceschetti; and five grandchildren. DOROTHY KATHERINE SWEENEY SUMOWSKI, 77, of Waitsburg, Wash., formerly of Sayreville, died Sept. 23 at home. Her husband, Adam Sumowski, died in 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Kerry Brown of Waitsburg and Camilla Sumowski of Goldbar, Wash.; a sister, Janet Scheid of Sayreville; three grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. JADWIGA DOROBISZ BACZEWSKA, 78, of Milltown died Oct. 14 as the result of an automobile accident. Surviving are three daughters, Halina Jablonowski of Milltown, Krystyna Wlodkowska of Poland and Janina Rytelewska of Wallington; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. MARIE ERICKSON GRAY, 76, of South River died Oct. 17 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was an assistant librarian at South River High School for more than 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Robert S. Gray; a daughter, Donna Gray Marino of Durham, Conn.; and a granddaughter. MARY ANNA STANKOWITZ KULAKOVICH, 81, of Spotswood, formerly of South River, died Oct. 19 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Walter, died in 1997. Surviving are a son, John of Monroe; two daughters, Nancy Namowicz of Monroe and Mary Ann Nash of Brazil; three sisters, Ann Sansone of the Somerset section of Franklin, Margaret Brylinski of Connecticut and Frances Lowe of West Virginia; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ALEX KULESA JR., 92, of South River died Oct. 15 at home. Prior to his retirement many years ago, he was the owner and operator of Butch’s Garage, South River, for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Mae Yanish Kulesa; two daughters, Marion Garletti of New Brunswick and Sandra Williams of South River; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.
