Frank W. Lovekin
Mr. Lovekin, 80, of Tinton Falls, died June 30 at home. Born in Long Branch, he resided in Little Silver prior to moving to Tinton Falls 46 years ago. He was a retired county detective for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Freehold. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member and treasurer of the reunion committee of his Navy ship. He was a member of, and former usher and member of the restoration committee at Christ Church of Shrewsbury. He was a former member of the Tinton Falls Fire Department and First Aid Squad. His family owned Dennis’ Luncheonette, Little Silver, now Edie’s Luncheonette, for 41 years where he began working at age 9. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte Halloran Lovekin; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jennifer Leigh Lovekin of Tinton Falls, Cynthia Jeanne and Anthony Coviello of Leesburg, Va., and Patrice Anne and Stan Thornton of Tinton Falls; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one cousin. Vincent Arrasate
Mr. Arrasate, 69, of Red Bank, died July 10. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he resided Plattekill, N.Y, prior to moving to Red Bank. He was a resident and assistant manager at Colony House Apartments, Red Bank, the past 20 years. Prior to that, he was employed at Ford Motor Company, Mahwah and Edison, retiring after 35 years of service. He was also a police officer, as well as a member of the volunteer fire department and ambulance corps in Plattekill. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Arrasate; two stepdaughters, Patricia and her husband George Woodward of Deal; and Susan Jacobowitz of Red Bank; a stepson and his wife, Richard and Enza Jacobowitz of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Fran Bachman of Edison; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Burial
was at Most Holy Rosary Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Barbara H. Ragg Twomey
Mrs. Twomey, 96, of Red Bank, died July 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Winslow Junction she resided in Linden prior to moving to Red Bank in 1990. She was a pediatric nurse at Perth Amboy General Hospital, from 1961 until retirement at age 70. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Jeremiah Twomey in 1977; two brothers, Herman and Eugene; and three sisters, Marie, Anna and Claire. She is survived by a son, Joseph Twomey of Red Bank; two daughters, Barbara Psichos of the Lincroft section of Middletown, and Mary McCormick of El Cerrito, Calif.; a sister, Alice Carroll of Clark; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be July 7 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A funeral service will be July 8 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge. Charles E. Hunt
Mr. Hunt, 81, of Red Bank, died June 29 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Red Bank, he resided in New York City prior to moving to Red Bank. He was a retired banquet waiter at the Roosevelt Hotel, New York City. He served with the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Hotel, Restaurant and Club Employees and Bartenders Union Local No. 6 AFL-CIO. He enjoyed playing tennis, and was a tennis coach. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jay Hunt and Burnadair Lipscomb-Hunt of New York City; a daughter, Elke Kelly of Atlanta; a sister, Elaine Hunt; and one nephew, and three nieces. A memorial gathering will be July 9 from 2-4 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
Peter J. Pauels Sr.
Mr. Pauels, 87, of Rumson, died June 18 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Rumson the past 78 years. He was the owner of Pauel’s Boats, Rumson, for 50 years, worked at the Rumson boat ramp and was a member of the ramp club, and was a crossing guard for Rumson Grammar School. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rumson. He was an active 65-year member of Oceanic Hook and Ladder Company No. 1, Rumson. He was also a member of the Rumson Exempt Fire Association, Special Police of Rumson, Moxley Abacus Lodge No. 78 Free and Accepted Masons, Fair Haven, and Elks Lodge No. 227, Red Bank. He was also a past member of Charity Court 38 Order of the Amaranth, Fair Haven, and Navy League of the United States. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Pauels in 2003, and a son, Peter J. Pauels Jr. in 1998. He is survived by a son, Arthur “Nippy” Pauels of Rumson; two daughters-in-law, Mary E. Pauels of Rumson, and Patsy Pauels of California; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
Mike Alberts
Mr. Alberts, 54, of Little Silver, died June 13 at home. Born in Pasadena, Calif., he resided in Little Silver the past 29 years. He was the owner of a medical supplies business the past 10 years. He enjoyed time with his family, coaching his children in various sports, golf, basketball and baseball. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kunz Alberts; two sons and a daughter, David M., Daniel J. and Michele, all at home; his parents, Marian and James Alberts of Glen Rock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Pattie Alberts of Tampa, Fla., and Jeff and Maria Alberts of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kathy Serkin of Little Silver, and Theresa and Paul Nachtigal of Ormond Beach, Fla.; his father-in-law, Thomas Kunz; three brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Mary M. Haddock
Mrs. Haddock, 95, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and formerly Sea Bright, died June 13 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce, Fla. Born in Lowell, Mass., she resided in Sea Bright and Florida prior to moving to Port St. Lucie 10 years ago. She was a retired telephone operator at AT&T;, White Plains, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Albert Haddock in 2001, and a son, Gregory Haddock. Stephen J. Bartosh
Mr. Bartosh, 83, of Shrewsbury, died June 14 in Manasquan, after suffering a stroke. He resided in Manasquan prior to moving to Shrewsbury in 1961. He was a chemical engineer for the U.S. Army Research and Development Laboratories, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 31 years, retiring in 1981. Prior to that, he taught at Manasquan High School. He was a retired Lt. Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an exempt fireman at Manasquan Engine Company No. 2. He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Komlo, and a brother, Leonard Bartosh. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Miller Bartosh; two sons, Stephen A. “Drew” and Mark A., both of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Deborah L. of Henderson, Ky.; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lt. Col. John F. Bartosh, U.S. Air Force Retired, and Louise of Summerville, S.C., and James Bartosh of Irwin, Pa. Interment

Mary A. Pede
Mrs. Pede, 89, of Little Silver, died April 15 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she resided in Jersey City prior to moving to Little Silver in 1968. She was a retired receptionist at Riverview Medical Center, where she was employed more than 25 years. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed time with her family, dancing, and big band music. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Pede in 1966. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Pat Leonard and Dominick Abbatiello of Princeton, April and Joseph Prinzo of Hazlet, and Colleen McCloskey and William Novak of Great Falls, Va.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, William and Lorraine Preston of Keansburg, and James Preston of Middletown; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Al Bennett of Middletown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Denise P. Hance
Mrs. Hance, 43, of Baton Rouge, La., died May 7 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge, following a battle with breast cancer and leukemia. Born in New York City, she resided in Staten Island, N.Y., and Middletown for 20 years, before moving to Baton Rouge 12 years ago. Mrs. Hance was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, John R. Hance; two daughters, Gabriella and Alexandra Hance of Baton Rouge; a son, Paul Hance of Baton Rouge; her parents, Sybil and Ray Fiegel of Tinton Falls; a sister and brother-in-law, Doreen and Ed Husar of Tinton Falls; a brother, Daniel Fiegel of New York City; and three nieces.
