GEORGE STEWART SIGLE, 74, of Jamesburg died Dec. 20 at home. Born in South Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was predeceased by two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Claire (nee Ryan); three daughters, Barbara Kissling of Monroe, Deborah Sigle at home and Georgette Motyka of Jamesburg; a brother, Edward of Old Bridge; a sister, Frances Neff of Jamesburg; and three grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. James Church, Jamesburg, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
WILLIAM G. HACKER, 73, of Old Bridge died Dec. 22 at home. Born in Newark, he moved to Old Bridge 46 years ago. Mr. Hacker was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn (nee Ferrara), who died Dec. 3. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy McIntyre of Spotswood, and Sharon and Don Miller of East Brunswick; a stepson, Robert Scarpino, and his wife Jan, of Port Clinton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge, followed by interment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
CATHERINE SANDUSKY, 81, of Monroe died Dec. 22 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Old Bridge, she had lived in Spotswood for 30 years before moving to Hialeah, Fla. In 1972 she returned to the Jamesburg-Monroe area. Mrs. Sandusky was predeceased by her husband, Raymond H., who died in 1972. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Thomas Hoffman of Lebanon, Tenn.; three sisters, Violet Logan of Old Bridge, Marie Sankner of Parlin and Vera Kioski of East Brunswick; a brother, Jack Logan of Florida; 25 nieces and nephews; and her friend, Susanne Kane of Monroe. Cremation services were private.
ANN J. MUSCHLA, 85, of South River died Dec. 24 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, she was a lifelong resident of South River. Mrs. Muschla was predeceased by her husband, Michael, who died in 1972. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Muschla of East Brunswick; a brother, Robert Kull of Florida; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
GLORIA DONATO, 71, of South River died Dec. 20 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy, she lived in South River most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who died in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Gloria; three sons, Joseph A., Gary and William; her mother, Dorothy Primka Kern; two sisters, Clara and Joan; a brother, William; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stephen’s Protomartyr Church in South River; entombment was at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, offerings may be sent to the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Chemotol-ogy or Oncology department, or the Make A Wish Foundation.
LOIS ALBERT KLITZKE, 67, of Sayreville died Dec. 19 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Max R. Klitzke; her daughter, Kimberly Klitzke-DeSarno; her sons, Mark H. of Methuen, Mass., and Hugh P. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in South River Jan. 19 at a time to be announced by the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Keepsake Fund, 90 Leonardine Ave., South River, 08882.
JOHN J. PITMAN, 84, of Howell died Dec. 14 in Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills section of Pemberton. His wife, Dorothie, died in 1988, and a daughter, Gail A. Rue, died in 1994. Surviving are three sons, Robert J. of Atlantic Highlands, Kenny D. of the Forked River section of Lacey and Kerry A. of Spotswood; a sister, Mary Ouimette of Edison; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Brendon Williams officiated at a funeral service at C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, which was followed by interment at Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
RICHARD "JAKE" JACOBSON, 66, of Old Bridge died Dec. 21 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., where he resided before moving to Old Bridge 18 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (nee Brostek); a son, John P. Corbett Jr. of Barnegat; three daughters, Mary Jacobson of Staten Island, Emma Duff of Tafton, Pa., and Carolyn Bonelli of Englishtown; a brother, Henry T. Jacobson of Staten Island; a sister, Barbara Mastropietro of Staten Island; and eight grandchildren. The funeral Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
IWONA MARKOW, 59, of Old Bridge died Dec. 21 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mrs. Markow was born in Poland and had lived in Stockholm, Sweden, before coming to the United States, moving to Old Bridge 18 years ago. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mikael; two sons, Daniel of Wayne and Tommy of Old Bridge; her mother, Katherine Baranski of Old Bridge; and a brother, Wieslaw Baranski of Manalapan. Cremation services were private.
MARGARET "PEGGY" M. CLARK of Old Bridge died Dec. 24. Born in Harrison, she had lived there and in Newark before moving to Old Bridge 42 years ago. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Francis M.; a son, Mark E. of Richmond Va.; a daughter, Denise Edgeworth of Freehold; four sisters, Ann Walsh of Toms River, Veronica Fulcher of North Arlington, Kathleen Roman of Closter and Helen Dolan of Red Bank; and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, South Brunswick. FREDERICK LARSEN, 85, of the Morgan section of Sayreville died Dec. 24 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy, he was a longtime resident of Morgan. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Edward; and four sisters, Violet Lear, Evelyn Jarock, Edith Voorhees and Josephine Maliszewski. He is survived by a brother, Harry Larsen of Morgan; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sayreville, followed by interment at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
ANTHONY J. FISCHETTI SR., 69, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge died Dec. 19 at home. Surviving are his wife, Lucy A.; two sons, Anthony J. Jr. of Jackson and Jeffrey of Aberdeen; three daughters, Susan D’Ambra of Irmo, S.C., JoAnn D’Aronzio of Charlotte, N.C. and Karen Hoffman of Cranford; four sisters, Rose Roccomboli of Staten Island, N.Y., Florence Cavallo of Cresco, Pa., Margaret Caruso of Wallingford, Conn. and Lillian Seesman of Staten Island, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren. Services were held at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, Parlin. Interment
was held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown.
