JOHN GUTTLER JR., 81, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Nov. 23 in The Manor, Freehold Township. Surviving are his wife, Lucille H. Guttler; a son, George L. Guttler of Sturbridge, Mass.; a daughter, Alice J. Guttler of Freehold Township; and a granddaughter. A prayer service was offered at C.H.T. Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell. TIMOTHY WELDON, 43, of South Amboy, formerly of Old Bridge, died Nov. 18 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his parents, Daniel Weldon and Catherine Fitzgerald Weldon; three brothers, Daniel Weldon of Orlando, Fla., Terrence Weldon of Freehold and Michael Weldon of Methuen, Mass.; a sister, Ellen Shannon of Metuchen; his fiancée, Kahie Kocsik; four nieces; and two nephews. BENJAMIN OLENDER, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Sayreville, died Nov. 22 in Beverly Health Care, Fort Myers, Fla. He was the owner of Ben’s Bait Service, Sayreville, for many years. His first wife, Helen Olender, died in 1983. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Weinert Olender; a daughter, Carol Ciak of the Parlin section of Sayreville; two sons, Benjamin Jr. of Burlington and Richard of South Amboy; a stepson, Nicholas Spadaccini of Saint Augustine, Fla., two stepdaughters, Lynn Podor of Bradenton, Fla., and Dawn Ferro of Parlin; two sisters, Veronica Nelson and Lottie Slover, both of Sayreville; a brother, Alex Olender of South River; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
JAMES T. POLITO, 50, of Sayreville died Nov. 17 at home. Surviving are his wife, Patti Ledger Polito; a brother, Michael Polito of Highlands; two sisters, Vickie Cotton of Canton, Mich., and Rosemarie Paronto of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and a stepson, Christopher Ledger of Union Beach. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Private cremation followed.
BEATRICE SURMAN DOCKIEWICZ, 88, of Monroe, formerly of Sayreville, died Dec. 14 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul P. Dockiewicz, and by a son, David. Surviving are a son, James of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Doris Bailey of Monroe and Carol Baniowski of Plymouth, Mich.; a sister, Charlotte Herbst of Sayreville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Halligan D’Amore; three sons, Gerard of Earlville, N.Y., and Joseph and Louis, both of Old Bridge; two daughters, Denise and Marjorie D’Amore-Russell, both of Old Bridge; two sisters, Mary Attalla of Millsboro, Del., and Loretta Messina of the Toms River section of Dover; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. RAYMOND R. DRYZGA, 79, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Dec. 16 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. WILLIAM M. MORE, 87, of Pinellas Park, Fla., died Dec. 14 in St. Petersburg (Fla.) Medical Center. His first wife, Grace Eickenbush More, died in 1964. Surviving are his wife, Florence More; a son, William More of Sayreville; a daughter, Grace Mathis of Atlanta; three sisters, Kathleen Zipf of Metuchen and Lucille Schriek and Rose Engelestedter, both of Highland Park; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. JOHN E. REA, 90, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of Spotswood, died Dec. 9 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. His first wife, Ruth Hain Rea, died in 1972, and his second wife, Matilda Dannacker Rea, died in 1989. Surviving are three sons, John H. Rea of Avon by the Sea, James of Norfolk, Va., and the Rev. Douglas Rea of Mays Landing; a daughter, Patricia Soccodato of Sayreville; a brother, Michael Rea of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Ogus of Chula Vista, Calif.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his companion, Angie Sanginario of Parlin. JEAN R. ROEHNER CONDREN, 77, of Old Bridge died Dec. 17 in Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. Her husband, Thomas W. Condren, died in 1995.
