ROBERT T. "BOBBY" HUGHES JR., 23, of Sayreville died Sept. 11 as a result of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, New York City. He was employed as a margin clerk for the Bank of America. Prior to that, he delivered the Suburban newspaper for many years and worked for several local businesses including the Sayreville Bar, St. Cement’s Catering, Manhattan Bagel and Circuit City. He was a graduate of Sayreville High School and Montclair State University, Upper Montclair, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. He volunteered at the camp for Sayreville Brain Injured Children. Surviving are his parents, Louise and Robert Hughes; three sisters, Shanin, Leigha and Lyndsey; and his grandparents, Charlotte and Patrick Ambrosia of Old Bridge and Raymond Hughes of Sayreville. The family will receive friends and family from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 6 at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. A memorial celebration of life service will take place at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the Salvation Army to assist those in need due to the World Trade Center tragedy.
JUDITH BEVERLY SCHWARZSCHILD ATLAS, 54, of East Brunswick died Sept. 25 at home. Surviving are her husband, Melvyn Atlas; a son, Orin of New York City; two daughters, Laurie Nesser and Marnie Atlas, both of New York City; a sister, Joan Kastrinsky of Fair Lawn; and her mother-in-law, Bert Atlas of Cranbury. Interment

EDWIN KAPUSTA, 84, of East Brunswick died Sept. 26 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Sciora Kapusta; three sons, Thomas Kapusta and Dennis Kapusta, both of East Brunswick, and Robert Kapusta of Helmetta; a daughter, Chris Reale of South River; a sister, Lydia Perednia of New York City; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment
was private.
EDWARD B. MUNSON, 85, of Milltown died Sept. 26 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. A son, Edward B. Munson Jr., died in 1995. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Bauries Munson; a daughter, Deborah Hemmerle of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; a son, Edmund N. Munson of Oakhurst; a brother, Russell Munson of Connecticut; and three grandsons. ADELINE M. DESSINGER CLARKE, 90, of East Brunswick died Sept. 30 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Her husband, Prescott L. Clarke, died in 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Gail M. Clarke of Milltown and Beverly J. Cardner of Howell; an "honorary" daughter, Kathleen Moorfoot of Milltown; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Interment

STANLEY DeGRAW, 68, of South River died Sept. 28 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Lena Massonett DeGraw, died in 1998. Surviving are four sons, Donald and Steven, both of Old Bridge, William of Jamesburg and David of Rahway; two daughters, Natalie DeGraw and Deborah DeGraw, both of South River; four brothers, Robert, Harry, James Kelsey and Michael DeGraw; six sisters, Phyllis Rak, Ethel Kelly, Lorraine Baumann, Barbara Yurick, Aleta Hurley and Shirley Cook; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Cremation was private.
FRANCIS PATRICK DONELAN, 41, of Spotswood died Sept. 29 at home. Surviving are his parents, Rosemary and Francis Donelan of Spotswood; a brother, Michael Donelan of Spotswood; two sisters, Theresa Jomo of Old Bridge and Mary Dragun of the Stewartsville section of Greenwich Township; his grandparents, Josephine and Stanley Mayewski of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three nephews; and two nieces. DARREN MICHAEL GIORDANO, 32, of Helmetta, formerly of Old Bridge and Sayreville, died Sept. 25 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Bellesi Giordano; his father and stepmother, Robert and Clare Giordano of Pennsylvania; his stepfather, John Lydersen; a brother, Robert Giordano Jr. of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a stepbrother, Chris Wise of New York; two stepsisters, Paula Susi of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Kathy Lindsay of Pennsylvania. WALTER ARCOME, 83, of Old Bridge died Jan. 21 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. His wife, Mary Arcome, died in 1980. Surviving are a cousin, Dorothy Davidowsky of Palm Coast, Fla., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. RITA LEE FRITZ, 86, of Sayreville died Jan. 25 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1977, she was employed as a teller at First Charter National Bank, South River, where she worked for 16 years. Her husband, Albert L. Fritz, died in 1988. Surviving are two sons, Hugh J. Fritz of Enfield, Conn., and James J. Fritz of Groton, Conn.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
