Grace A. McCreesh Adams
Mrs. Adams, 76, of Tinton Falls, died Sept. 30 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she resided there and the Belford section of Middletown, prior to moving to Tinton Falls in 1983. She was a librarian assistant at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, from 198-92. Prior to that, she was an executive secretary at Allied Signal, Eatontown, where she was employed 24 years. She enjoyed ceili dancing, and was a student of the Irish language. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph in 2002. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Pamela Hilger of Middle Island, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Jay Cyriacks of Belford; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial

Liam C. McClelland
Mr. McClelland, 26, of Toms River, died Oct. 17 at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Middletown Township prior to moving to Toms River three months ago. He was a carpenter and commercial fisherman at MI-JO, Atlantic Highlands, as well as several other area boats. He was a graduate of Middletown High School North. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion at American Legion Post No. 338, Leonardo section of Middletown. He enjoyed surfing, fishing and snowboarding. He was predeceased by his father, William “Pete” McClelland in 2004. He is survived by his mother, Catherine McClelland of Toms River; two brothers, Shamus McClelland of Middletown, and Al McClelland of Murphysboro, Tenn.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Catherine’s Church. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Florence E. Asman
Mrs. Asman, 97, of Red Bank, died Oct. 15 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Before moving to Red Bank in 1991, Mrs. Asman had resided in Little Silver for many years. She was a teacher for the Long Branch and Neptune City Board of Education for 30 years, retiring in 1973. Following her retirement, she was a genealogist and author of “Brouwner/Brower Ancestry.” She was a member of Embury Methodist Church, Little Silver, since 1942. Her memberships included the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of New Jersey, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Asman was predeceased by her husband, William C. Asman, in 1988; and two brothers, Leroy A. Johnson and Harold S. Johnson. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Lorraine Asman of Little Silver; a daughter, Virginia G. Asman of Sunnyside, N.Y.; a grandson; two nieces; and three grandnieces. A funeral service was held at Embury Church. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Thelma P. Chandler
Mrs. Chandler, 80, of Fair Haven, died Oct. 7 at home. Born in Keyport, she resided in Fair Haven the past 60 years. She was a member of the Fair Haven United Methodist Church, where she was also a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed the theater and New York City, and traveling with her son aboard the Concorde before it was retired. She is survived by her husband, George Chandler Jr.; a son, George Chandler III of New York City; a brother, Paul Porter of Keyport; and two sisters, Yvonne Gall of North Carolina, and Barbara Wilson of Matawan. Harold J. “Hap” Halligan
Mr. Halligan, 77, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and formerly Rumson and Oceanport, died Oct. 12 at home. Born in Jersey City, he was raised in Rumson. He was a retired member of the International Alliance of Theatrical State Employees, Local 52, New York City. Prior to that, he was employed at Bendix Corporation, Eatontown, for 36 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a former Chief of the Rumson Fire Department, an exempt and 51-year member of the Rumson Fire Company and Oceanic Firemen’s Relief Association. He was a life member of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association, and one of the founders of Rumson boy’s baseball and Pop Warner. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn R.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Harold J. of Highlands, Robert and Ann of Rumson, Thomas and Barbara of Quakertown, Pa., and Paul and Jeanine of Atlantic Highlands; a daughter, Carol Halligan of Middletown; a brother, James of Rumson and Jupiter, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Joanne M. Lee
Mrs. Lee, 75, of Neptune, died Sept. 27 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Middletown, Conn., she resided in Fair Haven 40 years, and Red Bank, prior to moving to Neptune. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. She was predeceased by a brother, John Murphy. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas A. Lee Jr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. and Kecia Lee III of Malvern, Pa., and John J. and Jean Lee of Little Silver; a daughter, Elizabeth L. Hollis Moore
Mr. Moore, 74, of Freehold, died Sept. 20 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Wellborn, Fla., and had lived in Manalapan before moving to Freehold in 1957. Mr. Moore owned and operated Hollis’ Barber Shop, Freehold, for 45 years. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He was the oldest of 15 siblings. Mr. Moore is survived by six sons, Kenneth Moore, Forton Wimbush and Kevin Thomas, all of Freehold, Darryl Banks of Long Branch, Guy Kinsey of Shrewsbury and Steven Kinsey of Perth Amboy; four daughters, Deborah Moore-Whittaker, Joy-Lynn Kinsey and Grethel Kinsey, all of Freehold, and Carolyn Dozier of Atlanta; his mother, Grethel Moore of Wellborn, Fla.; five brothers and three sisters; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The viewing will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, Sept. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church Oct. 1 at 10 a.m., followed by entombment at Frost Wood Memorial Park, East Brunswick. Johanna Louise McGinniss
Mrs. McGinniss, 52, of Red Bank, died Sept. 25 at home. Born in Jersey City, she resided in New York City, and Ridgefield Park, prior to moving to Red Bank. She was director of operations at Westwood One Radio Corporation, New York City. She enjoyed collecting antiques, needlework, cooking and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Terrence A. McGinniss; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Charlotte DeLaura of Waldwick; a brother-in-law and his wife, Lawrence and Lynn McGinniss of New York City; and two nephews. Destiny Summey, 6 1/2 months old, of Red Bank, died from brain cancer Sept. 20 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and resided in Red Bank. Gerry Delaney McIntyre
Mrs. McIntyre, 71, of Red Bank, died Sept. 26 at home. Born in Jersey City, she resided there and Rumson, prior to moving to Red Bank. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her first husband of 29 years, Vincent Delaney; and her husband, Joseph McIntyre. Teresa Filomena Lambiase
Mrs. Lambiase, 94, of Red Bank, died Sept. 15 at Victoria House, Matawan. Born in Muro Lucano, Italy, she resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Red Bank 25 years ago. Mrs. Lambiase was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Alberto Lambiase. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Pamela Lambiase of Red Bank; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Richard Cocchiaro of Manorville, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Bertha A. “Bema” Tate
Mrs. Tate, 86, of Red Bank, died Sept. 18 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she had been a resident of Red Bank for the past 38 years. Before her retirement, Mrs. Tate was a senior drafting designer at Bell Labs, Holmdel, where she was employed 33 years. She also worked at Signal Corps, Fort Monmouth, and tested resistors for electrical systems that later became part of the Manhattan Project. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Red Bank. She served as a United Service Organization (USO) hostess during World War II. She also was a volunteer and lunchroom aide at St. James Elementary School, Red Bank. Mrs. Tate was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Harry J. Tate; and a daughter, Suzan Levy. She is survived by a son, Daniel Tate of Red Bank; a daughter, Kathy Smart of Egg Harbor Township; a son-in-law, Charles Levy of New York City; and a granddaughter. The John E.
