ERIC B. WAHL, 20, of Eatontown died Oct. 31 at home. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident. He was a service technician at David Michael Motor Car, Freehold. He was a parishioner of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. He is survived by his mother, Anne Killins Wahl of Eatontown; two sisters, Melissa Maxwell and Jennifer Wahl, both of Eatontown; his maternal grandparents, Harriet and Bucky Killins of Eatontown; two aunts, Kathleen Gaynor of Pennsylvania, and Krista Killins of Eatontown; and a nephew, Alexander Maxwell. Interment

AMALIA CELENDANO MALASPINE, 86, of Hazlet, died June 22 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Elizabeth, she previously lived in Brooklyn and Coney Island, N.Y., before moving to Hazlet eight years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, James Malaspine in 1953. She is survived by her son, Dominick L. Malaspine of Hazlet; her daughter, Camille S. Malaspine of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Louis Celendano of Holmdel, and Ralph Celendano of Brooklyn; her son, Paul Celendano of Hollywood, Fla.; and two granddaughters. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, both in Keyport.
WILSON E. DEAKIN, 90, of Vernon, Conn., died June 22 at Foxhill Nursing Home, Vernon. Born in Phillipsburg, Pa., he had lived in Atlantic Highlands from 1972 to 1993 before moving to Vernon. Mr. Deakin was a physical therapist at Merck & Co., Rahway, for 33 years before retiring in 1972; prior to that he had worked for hospitals in the Philadelphia area. He also taught bridge in adult schools and private groups for nearly 20 years. He was a graduate of Temple University Hospital and the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing for Men, both in Philadelphia. Mr. Deakin was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Sweeney Deakin, who died in 1987; and a son, Thomas A., who was a municipal court judge in Atlantic Highlands, in 1992. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Wilson Jr. and Elizabeth Deakin of Vernon; daughter-in-law Maureen Deakin of Red Bank; three sisters, Elizabeth Waugh of Saginaw, Mich., Doris Wheeler of Bristol, Pa., and Edith Takatsuka of Willow Grove, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ANNA C. DENNIS, 95, of West Long Branch died June 25 at the Center for Hospice Care, Long Branch. Born in Slaptown, Pa., she resided in West Long Branch since 1928. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel W. Dennis, in 1961. She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Van Note and Betty Atwood, both of West Long Branch, and Patricia D. Craig of Gaithersburg, Md.; four sisters, Josephine Delamonico of Hazelton, Pa., Minnie Ponessa of Long Branch, and Jennie Carbe and Lucille Foggia, both of the Shark River Hills section of Neptune Township; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at St. James Episcopal Church, Long Branch, followed by interment at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch.
LOUIS D. GOODRICH, 60, of West Long Branch died July 2 at Atlantic City Medical Center. Born in Michigan, he relocated to West Long Branch in 1991. He was a bus driver for Academy Bus Lines, Leonardo section of Middletown the past six years. Prior to that, he worked for Coldwell Banker, Matawan, as well as UNISYS, Blue Bell, Pa. He was a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies included fishing, bridge, and partaking in agility trials with his two dogs. He was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jacqueline Poland of West Long Branch; two sons, David Goodrich of Matawan, and Michael Goodrich of Warren; his daughter, Deborah Goodrich of Staten Island, N.Y.; two brothers, George and Joseph Goodrich, both of Woodheaven, Mich.; his sister, Donna Alfieri of Woodheaven, Mich.; his stepdaughter and stepson; his former wife; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be July 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. at John F. GRACE W. STOTHART, of West Long Branch died June 19 at home. A lifelong resident of West Long Branch, she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Long Branch, where she was co-founder of the Historical Room. Her memberships included the Women’s Society of Christian Service Official Board, and the Stitch and Chatter Ladies Club. Her activities included travel, sewing, and her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Thomas D. Stothart in 1995; and two brothers, Preston and Robert Wood. She is survived by her son, Thomas D. Stothart of Oceanport; her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Marc Woontner of Oceanport; her brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Margaret Wood of the Lincroft section of Middletown; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Claire Johnson of West Long Branch, and Lois and John Keevil of Oceanport; 16 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. LUISA D. PECORA, 76, of Long Branch died July 4 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Lecco, Italy, she lived there until 1947, when she moved to Long Branch. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dominick Pecora of Long Branch; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Joseph Bedore of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township and Cristina and Michael Wilson of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two sisters, Nerina Valsecchi and Antonia Bolis, of Italy; a brother, Pietro Dell’Oro of Italy; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
ELIZABETH R. BENJAMIN, 101, of Elberon died July 5 at home. She was a lifelong Elberon resident. Her various activities included heading the American Red Cross unit in Red Bank during World War II; serving as board member and benefactor of Monmouth Medical Center’s Our House, a senior citizen day-care center; and serving as president of the board of Elberon Library. She was predeceased by her husband, Barets O. Benjamin. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Louise Rosenfeld Steinfirst, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a nephew, George Rosenfeld, New York; two nieces, Mary Lasser of Pottersville and Vicki Rudnitsky of Massachusetts; and several grandnieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in August at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. EMILIO J. BRACO, 87, of Eatontown died June 26 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Italy, he moved to the United States in 1921, and lived in New York City and Morganville prior to moving to Eatontown. He was an electrician for Western Union, New York City, for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Onofrio Braco, in 1998. He is survived by two sons, Anthony Braco of Fair Lawn and Joseph Braco of Old Bridge; one daughter, Elizabeth Carucci of Middletown; two brothers, Nicholas Braco of Binghamton, N.Y., and Joseph Braco of Oswego, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church followed by burial at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
JOHN J. MAZZACCO SR., 65, of Little Silver, died June 24 at home. Born in Long Branch, he previously lived in Red Bank and moved to Little Silver in 1963. He was the proprietor of Mazzacco’s Pharmacy, Long Branch, as well as the Long Branch Broadcasting Company, WRLB Radio Station 107. He was a member of the Long Branch Rotary Club and a director of welfare for the city of Long Branch. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Mazzacco, in 1983. He is survived by his wife, Susan Hall Mazzacco of Little Silver; three sons and one daughter-in-law, John Mazzacco Jr. of Sea Bright, Michael Mazzacco of Red Bank, and James and Mary Mazzacco of Long Branch; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was offered at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
