PERCY S. GRAY, 90, of Red Bank died Aug. 8 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in Freehold, he had lived in Red Bank area since 1942. He was a retired self-employed carpet layer and supplier in Red Bank for 35 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Red Bank. His memberships included the Oddfellows, Red Bank, and the Red Bank Police Reserve. His hobbies included travel, hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his grandson, John Gray. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Schanck Gray of Red Bank; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard G. and Verna Gray of Hampton, John N. and Valerie Gray of East Rockaway, N.Y., and Douglas S. and Andrea Gray of Lancaster, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.

RITA T. GENTILE, 85, of Keansburg died Aug. 8 at Bayside Manor, Keansburg. Born in Holmdel, she lived most of her life in Middletown and moved to Keansburg one year ago. She was a homemaker, as well as an avid tennis player. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Gentile of Keansburg; her son, Joseph Gentile of Ponder, Texas; her daughter, Mary Gehlhaus of Little Silver; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

JOHN G. DRZEWIECKI, 65, of Manasquan died Aug. 18 at NHC Health Care, Murrells Inlet, S.C. Born in Newark, he lived in Martinsville and relocated to Manasquan in 2000. He was a chemist for Novartis Corp., East Hanover, retiring in 1993. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Drzewiecki of Manasquan; his brother, Leonard Drzewiecki of Fresno, Calif.; and his sister, Henriette Hallam of Long Branch. A funeral Mass was at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 101 Eisenhower Parkway, Roseland 07068.

DOMENICK J. ACERRA, 71, of Sun City West, Ariz. died Aug. 13 at home. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Ocean before moving to Sun City West four years ago. He was a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology and attending physician at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch; Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank; and Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, retiring in 1997. He also served as the chairman of the OB-GYN department at Monmouth Medical Center. His affiliations included the American Medical Association, N.J. Medical Society and the Medical Society of Monmouth County. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carmella Mucci Acerra. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Acerra of Sun City West, Ariz.; four daughters, Deborah Nicholas of Clifton, Va., Leslie Drahos of Zeeland, Mich., Robin Valoff of Shawnee, Kan., and Dana Cottrell of Dillon, Colo.; three brothers, Ralph Acerra of the Lincroft section of Middletown, Joseph Acerra of Tinton Falls, and Robert Acerra of Middletown; his sister, Joan Marangello of Red Bank; three stepchildren; and 13 grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Sun Health Hospice Care Service, 12740 N. Plaza Del Rio Blvd., Peoria, AZ 85381.

ALICE P. PATTERSON STAFFORD, 96, of Red Bank died Aug. 17 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Ridgfield, she had resided in New York City, becoming a resident of the Red Bank area after World War II. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Little Silver. Her affiliations included the Woman’s Club of Little Silver, and the Monmouth Park Charity Ball Committee. A volunteer for more than 20 years at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, she received many awards for outstanding service in its emergency room. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace N. . She is survived by her son, Fred W. of Dania, Fla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Consuelo S. and Ray Smith of Oceanport; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A funeral Eucharist was offered at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Little Silver, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 325 Little Silver Point Road, Little Silver 07739.

ROSE KASS, 99, of Long Branch died Aug. 9 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Russia, she moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1910 and relocated to Long Branch in 1927. She was employed at Morris Plate Glass, Red Bank for 20 years, retiring in 1982. Prior to that, she was the owner of Pacific Overalls, Long Branch. She was a member of Temple Beth Miriam, Elberon section of Long Branch, as well as a life member of Hadassah. A volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, she contributed 8,500 hours of service since 1982. She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Finkelstein in 1939; and her second husband, Harry M. Kass in 1986. She is survived by two sons, Marvin Finkelstein of Nanuet, N.Y., and Gerald Kass of Eatontown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment was at Beth Miriam Memorial Park, Neptune.

BARBARA C. REUSS SCHEDLBAUER, 84, of Tinton Falls, died Aug. 11 at Blythe House, Tinton Falls. Born in Schenectady, N.Y., she previously lived in Red Bank and Fair Haven, and moved to Tinton Falls two years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Her interests included spending time with her family, reading, exercise, bird watching and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Schedlbauer, and three sisters, Marie, Betty, and Magdeline. She is survived by her son, Charles L. of Chatham; three daughters, Barbara A. Grimmer of Fair Haven, Melinda S. Johnson of Bayville, and Mary J. Anderson of Leawood, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was at Church of the Nativity, followed by interment at Rosedale-Rosehill Cemetery Association, Linden. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Hospice, 111 Union Ave., Long Branch 07740.

GRACE IRENE SMITH CANNETO, 59, of Little Silver died Aug. 14 at home. Born in Long Branch, she resided in Little Silver the past 35 years. She was a homemaker and spent her life dedicated to raising her children. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Dolores Celli. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Canneto of Little Silver; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Denise Canneto of Little Silver, and Scott and Madelena Canneto of West Long Branch; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Robert Bruno of Toms River, and Gina Canneto of Tinton Falls; her sister, Mary Ann Topping of Ocala, Fla.; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Memorial donations may be made to The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis TN 38173-0704.

PIETRO "PETE" J. BRUNO, 51, of Little Silver died Aug. 8 at home. Born in Vallefiorita, Italy, he moved to the Monmouth County area in 1966. He was the owner and operator with his son Peter of Little Silver Auto Sales and Service since 1974. He was predeceased by his father, Saverio Bruno. He is survived by his wife, Jaye, and son, Peter, both of Little Silver; his mother, Rosa Procopio Bruno of Vallefiorita; his brother, Frank, of Lakeworth, Fla.; and one niece and nephew. A funeral Mass and burial were in Vallefiorita.

ANTONIO M. SINI, 93, of Eatontown died Aug. 29 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Sardinia, Italy, he lived in Jersey City and Oceanport prior to moving to Eatontown 38 years ago. He was a track man for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Jersey City, for 50 years, retiring in 1973. Prior to that, he was employed with Monmouth Park Racetrack, Oceanport. He served with the U.S. Army in the Cavalry and during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Teresa Ragni Sini in 1993, and his nephew, Joseph Ambrosio in 1980. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Anna Ragni Ambrosio of Parlin; and several nieces and nephews. He and his wife also raised 27 foster children, and his wife’s three brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge, followed by interment at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge.
