ROBERT L. LEHMAN, 78, of Little Silver died Aug. 29 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in the Fords section of Woodbridge, he resided in Little Silver for 45 years and recently moved to Manchester. He was the retired head of the Patent Department for N.L. Industries, New York City, for 35 years. Following retirement, he was vice president of Okura & Co., New York City, for five years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a founding member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fords. His associations included member and past president of the Little Silver Board of Education, and past president of the trustees of the Little Silver Public Library Association. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth C. Anderson Lehman of Manchester; his daughter and son-in-law, Lois R. and Gene Striffler of Long Valley; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris R. Lehman of State College, Pa., and Peter A. and Maureen M. Lehman of Oceanport; and his sister, Gloria Kerr Aprill of Edison. DOMENICK J. ACERRA, 71, of Sun City West, Ariz. died Aug. 13 at home. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Ocean before moving to Sun City West four years ago. He was a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology and attending physician at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch; Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank; and Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, retiring in 1997. He also served as the chairman of the OB-GYN department at Monmouth Medical Center. His affiliations included the American Medical Association, N.J. Medical Society and the Medical Society of Monmouth County. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carmella Mucci Acerra. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Acerra of Sun City West, Ariz.; four daughters, Deborah Nicholas of Clifton, Va., Leslie Drahos of Zeeland, Mich., Robin Valoff of Shawnee, Kan., and Dana Cottrell of Dillon, Colo.; three brothers, Ralph Acerra of the Lincroft section of Middletown, Joseph Acerra of Tinton Falls, and Robert Acerra of Middletown; his sister, Joan Marangello of Red Bank; three stepchildren; and 13 grandchildren. GRACE IRENE SMITH CANNETO, 59, of Little Silver died Aug. 14 at home. Born in Long Branch, she resided in Little Silver the past 35 years. She was a homemaker and spent her life dedicated to raising her children. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Dolores Celli. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Canneto of Little Silver; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Denise Canneto of Little Silver, and Scott and Madelena Canneto of West Long Branch; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Robert Bruno of Toms River, and Gina Canneto of Tinton Falls; her sister, Mary Ann Topping of Ocala, Fla.; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, followed by interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. ADELE E. POREDA COSTELLO, 95, of Tinton Falls died Aug. 23 at King Manor Care Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she lived there until moving to Tinton Falls in 1991. She was employed at Rockefeller Center, New York City, for 35 years, retiring in 1965. She is survived by her son, James J. Costello of Tinton Falls; one niece; two nephews; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Interment
was at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
ANNA H. PREZORSKI, 88, of the Lincroft section of Middletown died Dec. 21 at Regency Park Care Center, Hazlet. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Brooklyn and Glendale, Queens, N.Y., before moving to Lincroft six years ago. She is predeceased by her husband, Leo, who died in 1965; a son, Thomas, who died in 1965; a daughter, Rosemarie Wolf, who died in 1985; and a sister, Elizabeth Ahrens. She is survived by a two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Toni of Cobbleskill, N.Y., and Paul and Pat of Middletown; a brother, Thomas McMail; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered Dec. 24 at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. Interment
was at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, L.I., N.Y.
PAULINE K. BEHR, 84, of Cliffwood died Dec. 26 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Cliffwood, she was a lifelong resident of Cliffwood. She is predeceased by a son, Lawrence H., and a daughter, Paula H. She is survived by a sister, Mary Jane Fedlam of Sandusky, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
JOSEPH A. LIPOSKI, 82, of Middletown died Dec. 22 at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Connellsville, Pa., he had lived in Jersey City before moving to Middletown in 1957. He was employed by Metro Glass, Jersey City, for 43 years, retiring as plant manager in 1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having attained the rank of master sergeant; and was a member of the Middletown American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vilma L. (nee Poracky); and three brothers, Francis Liposki of Freehold, Andrew Liposki of Jersey City and Michael Liposki of Duquesne, Pa. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, both Middletown.
ANGELO F. CHRISTIANA, 76, of Hazlet died Dec. 23 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Belleville, he moved to Hazlet 41 years ago. He was a manager for A&P Supermarkets in the New Jersey area for 41 years before retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; a son, Martin Christiana of Keyport; two sisters, Mena Tortoriello of Belleville and Camille Rajkumar of Succasunna; and three grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
LEOPOLDINA B. O’BRIEN, 80, of Hazlet died Dec. 23 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Austria, she had lived in the Harlem section of Manhattan and in Queens, New York City, before moving to Hazlet four years ago. She worked for television and radio networks, including BBDO, WWOR and Compton, for 29 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, New York Chapter. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude, who died in 2000; and a daughter, Jerilyn O’Brien, in 1986. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Joan O’Brien of Hazlet, and Patrick and Donna O’Brien of Avon, Conn.; and four grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, followed by burial at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, Queens.
JAMES F. KING, 70, of Belford died Dec. 24 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he had been a resident of Belford since 1965. He was a lumber salesman for Blackstone Lumber, Perth Amboy, for 20 years before retiring five years ago, and previously had worked for Woodhaven Lumber, Lakewood, and Baldwin Lumber, Jersey City. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth, who died in 2000. He is survived by a daughter, Judie McLean of Keyport; three sisters, Rita Curley of N.C., Loretta Black of Florida, and Dorothy Schell; and two grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
