GERALDINE M. FARLEY, of Middletown died Dec. 12 at home. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she moved to the United States in 1959 and lived in Harrison prior to moving to Middletown 5.5 years ago. She was a school secretary for the director of curriculum at Middletown Township Board of Education for three years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her parents, James Henry and Pauline Donnelly. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Dermot Farley of Middletown; two sons, Kevin P. Farley and Brendan F. Farley, both of Middletown; her daughter, Meghan M. Farley of Middletown; two brothers, James Henry of Harrison, and John Henry of Middletown; and her sister, Margaret Henry of Harrison. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. DOROTHY P. ALTHERR KELLY, 88, of Tinton Falls died Dec. 14 at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Andover, Mass., and moved to Monmouth County in 1947. She was predeceased by her husbands, James Kelly, Ferris Altherr, and James Flynn Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Salava of Newmarket, N.H.; her son, Jimmy Flynn Jr. of Eatontown; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
BEBE MANENTI, 84, of Hazlet died Dec. 13 at home. She was born in Massachusetts and had lived in Middletown before moving to Hazlet. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Manenti in 1996. Surviving are a son, Thomas V. of Colo.; a daughter, Maryann Gallagher of Hazlet; a brother, Rudy Ferrari of Fla.; a sister, Alice Milo of Texas; one grandson; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. JEANNE GILLETTE, 79, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown died Dec. 12 at home. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she moved to the United States in 1924 and lived in Red Bank prior to moving to Port Monmouth 61 years ago. She was a nurses aide at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for 10 years, retiring 30 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Warren Gillette in 2000; and her daughter Eileen Riley. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Orville Wilmot of Port Monmouth; her son-in-law, Robert Riley of Port Monmouth; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
STELLA P. NAGY, 81, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown died Dec. 14 at home. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Atlantic Highlands and the East Keansburg section of Middletown prior to moving to Port Monmouth 20 years ago. She was a machine operator for Precision Casting Tool & Die, Middletown, for 15 years, retiring 19 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, East Keansburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Barney K. Lowrey in 1967. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Alice Lowrey of Port Monmouth; three sisters, Helen Vermeulen of Clifton, Frances Salva of Belleville, and Lottie Olear of Whiting; two brothers, Henry Motacki of Belleville, and Stanley Motacki of Midland Park; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, East Keansburg. Burial was at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown.
EDWARD JOSEPH LEJEUNE, 19, of Farmingdale died Dec. 13 at home. Born in Neptune, he had lived in Brielle before moving to Farmingdale 16 years ago. He was employed at George Harms Construction, Farmingdale. He was a 2001 graduate of Howell High School, where he was captain of the school’s wrestling team. He is survived by his parents, Joseph E. and Linda Lejeune of Farmingdale; a brother, Joseph of Farmingdale; two sisters, Regina Brewster of Forked River and Mary Lejeune of Wanamassa; his paternal grandmother, Anna Lejeune of Howell; and his maternal grandmother, Doris Dugan of Hazlet. JOSEPH GORNY, 75, of Middletown died Dec. 14 at home. Born in Kaczmirska, Poland, he resided in Middletown the past 34 years. He was a self-employed builder. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Pulaski Cadets, Melodia Choir, and ZPA Club, all Perth Amboy. He is survived by his wife, Frances Miczko Gorny of Middletown; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Susan Gorny; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gary Vetre; his brother, Alexander Gorny of Poland; and one granddaughter. CHRISTINIA MARIE NUCCIO, 45, of Lakewood died Dec. 1 at home after a long illness. She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Matawan before moving to Lakewood 19 years ago. She was a legal secretary for Lomurro, Davison, Eastman and Munoz, Freehold Township. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood; a member of the Monmouth Legal Secretaries Association; and was an accomplished equestrian rider with the Haskell Pony Club of Monmouth County. She is predeceased by her mother, Marilyn DiGeronimo, who died in 1969, and her son, Michael R. Nuccio, who died in 1989. Surviving are her father and his wife, William and Joan DiGeronimo of Aberdeen; two sisters, Joyce Jackson of the Forked River section of Lacey, and Mariellen DiGeronimo of Freehold; three nieces; a nephew; and Christopher Schnebel, her companion of 19 years with whom she lived. WILLIAM H. EBERHARD, 70, of Middletown died Nov. 29 at Passaic Beth Israel Hospital. Born and raised in Garfield, he moved to Middletown in 1962. He was the owner and operator of Eberhard Floor Covering/Carpet One, Middletown, which he established in 1962. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His activities included avid involvement with and coaching the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Softball Team, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Parry. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy V. Kozonasky Eberhard of Middletown; his son, William H. Eberhard Jr. of Middletown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ellen and Michael Andress of Middletown, and Heidi Eberhard of Massachusetts; three brothers, August Eberhard of Smithville, Victor Eberhard of Atlanta, Ga., and his twin, Edward Eberhard of Springfield, Va.; and two grandchildren.
EDWIN (PAT) S. SHERMAN, 86, of Middletown died Dec. 1 at home. Born in Colts Neck, he resided in Middletown the past 51 years. He was caretaker of the L.K. Timolat estate, Middletown, for 44 years, retiring earlier this year. He was a member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church. He was a former member and ex-chief of the Colts Neck Fire Department. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Conway Sherman in 1990. He is survived by his son, Wes Sherman of Oceanport; his daughter, Patricia K. Mahoney-Campbell of Manasquan; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Interment
