(1 of 2) JERRY SEYMOUR, 68, of Monmouth Beach and Brooklyn, N.Y., died Dec. 26 at his home in Brooklyn. Born in New York City, he resided in Monmouth Beach for more than 25 years. Mr. Seymour was a journalist and editor for publications such as the New York Herald Tribune, New York Daily News, Newsweek and Book World before his retirement. He also worked for a time as a public affairs executive. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Seymour was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Georgette Seymour, in 2000. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Liz Seymour and Bob Ourlian; a brother, Jack Seymour; a granddaughter; a niece and a nephew. A memorial service will be held June 14 at noon at Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave.

MARTHA J. MARCEAU, 94, of Eatontown died Dec. 26, 2002 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Ocean City, she resided in Wall Township before moving to Eatontown 45 years ago. Mrs. Marceau was a former member of Grace Methodist Church, Eatontown. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 214, Ocean Grove. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry A. Marceau Sr.; and a son, Ronald A. Marceau. Mrs. Marceau is survived by two sons, Harry A. Marceau Jr. of Nova Scotia and Robert J. Marceau of Brick; a daughter, Linda Morgan of Eatontown; a sister, Carmetta Brown of Corry, Pa.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were handled by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown. A funeral service was held at Hope Presbyterian Church, Tinton Falls, followed by interment at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
THOMAS G. THOMPSON, 53, of Pompano Beach, Fla., died Dec. 28 at home following a short illness. Born in Newark, he resided in the Elberon section of Long Branch before moving to Florida 10 years ago. He was employed at The Florida State Department of Agriculture. Prior to that, he worked at Lucent Technologies. He was a graduate of Long Branch High School, and Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, and the University of Florida, Gainesville. He was predeceased by his mother, Matilda Thompson, in 1974; and his father, Thomas Thompson, in 1990. He is survived by his brother, Richard Thompson of Los Angeles; three sisters, Donna Thompson of Elberon, Gail Thompson of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, and Jeane Oliver of the Leonardo section of Middletown; a brother-in-law, William Oliver Jr.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Jan. 24 at 12:30 p.m. at Stella Maris Retreat, Elberon. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22, Union 07083.
DENISE SATTER-GORE, 51, of Santa Clara, Calif., and formerly Long Branch, died recently at home after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Born in Washington, D.C., she moved to Long Branch in 1952. Mrs. Satter-Gore was a gallery artist and freelance illustrator, and her art will be shown in San Francisco in April. Her illustrations appeared on book covers, greeting cards, interiors, and album covers. She had several fine art and commercial credits to her name, and her acrylic paintings were exhibited in galleries and museums in cities such as New York, San Francisco and Philadelphia. She was the recipient of a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and was the author of a children’s environmental book and other works. She was an honors graduate of Monmouth University, West Long Branch. Her memberships included the Second Generation Group of San Jose, Calif., and the Women’s Caucus of the Arts. She is survived by her parents, Helen and Warren Satter of Long Branch; her sister, Michelle Satter of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and her husband and stepson, Richard Gore and Jeremy Gore of Santa Clara, Calif.
ANN NOLAN FYFE, 78, of Middletown died Dec. 5 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Middletown, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Fyfe was a secretary at Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, where she worked for 15 years before her retirement. Prior to that, she worked at Bendix Aviation Corp., Eatontown. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Her memberships included the Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Over 50 Club at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Mrs. Fyfe was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Fyfe; and two brothers, Thomas J. Nolan Jr. and James P. Nolan. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ruck of Middletown and Margaret Ellison of Little Silver; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church. Interment
was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
BRIGIDA TORRE, 91, of Old Bridge died Dec. 25 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Cedar Glenn Lakes, Whiting, before moving to Old Bridge in 1999. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, James Peter Torre, in 1990; and three brothers, Joseph LoSecco, Anthony LoSecco and John LoSecco. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Michaels of Aberdeen and Jo-Ann Erhardt of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; two sons, Michael Torre of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vincent Torre of Howell; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Interment
was at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, N.Y.
RALPH G. ADAMS, 87, of Tinton Falls died Dec. 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Needham, Mass., he resided in Tinton Falls for more than 40 years. He was an electrical engineer at Bendix Corp., Eatontown, for 42 years, retiring as director of quality control in 1981. He was a 1938 graduate of MIT, Cambridge, Mass. He attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He is survived by his wife, Grace McCreesh Adams of Tinton Falls; a stepdaughter, Anne Cyriacks of the Belford section of Middletown; a stepson, Michael Hilger of Middle Island, N.Y.; a sister, Muriel Gatto of Needham, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

ALICE McKENNEY, 91, of Aberdeen died Oct. 16 at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Phillipsburg, she lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to moving to Aberdeen 30 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis McKenney, in 1966. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Steuerer of Aberdeen; two grandsons, Lewis Steuerer of Aberdeen, and Kevin Schweek of Edison; and three great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Waitt Funeral Home, Morganville, with a Mass at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Burial was at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.
