FRANK MARTINEZ JR., 71, of Union Beach died Oct. 17 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he lived in Virginia prior to moving to Union Beach seven years ago. He was a yard person for IFF, Union Beach, for over 20 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an exempt member of the Aberdeen Township Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Martha J. Brown Martinez of Keyport; three sons, Richard Martinez, Steven Martinez of Howell, and Robert Martinez of Union City; and three daughters, Nilda Jollof of Staunton, Va., Deborah Talmage of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, and Rita Fernandez of Staunton, Va. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
DOMINICK "NICK" ALLOCCO, 87, of Haz-let, died Oct. 18 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. Born in Gladstone, he was a lifelong resident of Holmdel. He was a farmer with Allocco’s Family Farm, Holmdel, for most of his life, before retiring in 1990. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Allocco, in 1986; and Joseph Allocco, in 1966. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
GEORGE FRANK, 82, of Hazlet died Oct. 18 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Keyport, he lived in Matawan and Keyport before moving to Hazlet 25 years ago. He was a salesman for various tire companies for 40 years before retiring in January. Prior to that, he was a bartender at Shore Point Inn, Hazlet, and a toll collector for the Garden State Parkway for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Tansey Frank; and by his sister, Ann Fischler, in 1979. He is survived by a sister, Madeline Hulsart of Keyport; and several nieces and nephews. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport, with a Mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Burial was at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. DONOVAN L. ROBERTS SR., 82, of Hazlet died Oct. 18 at home. Born in Washington, Pa., he lived there before moving to Hazlet 34 years ago. He was involved in operations for Midland Glass, Aberdeen, for 12 years before retiring in 1978. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth White Roberts, in 1996. He is survived by his son, Donovan L. Roberts Jr. of Bound Brook; two daughters, Susann Miller of Hazlet, and Barbara Cornwell of Mentor, Ohio; a brother, James Roberts of North Jackson, Ohio; three sisters, Jean Kraeer and Helen Huffman, both of Washington, and Edith Amos of McKees Port, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment
was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
VINCENT L. PALAZZOTTO, 81, of Whiting, died Oct. 20 at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Bayside, Queens, N.Y., he lived there until moving to Whiting 16 years ago. He was a caretaker for St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Woodside, Queens, for 28 years prior to retirement in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Woodside, Queens. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth D. Pellegrino Palazzotto of Whiting; a daughter, Grace A. and son-in-law Robert Paglantonio of Hazlet; a sister, Mary Greco of Bayshore, Long Island, N.Y.; and one grandchild. ELIZABETH KEANE YETTE, 86, of Holmdel died Oct. 20 at Bayshore Senior Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Palisades Park, she lived in Middletown prior to moving to Holmdel seven years ago. She was a teacher at North Arlington High School and several other high schools, prior to retirement. She was a volunteer at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, as well as at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, and the Lions Club of Kearny. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Yette, in 1982; and her first husband, Daniel J. Keane, in 1958. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel J. and Barbara Keane of Little Silver; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Ernie Voigt of Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren, Daniel J. Jr. and Anne; and one niece. Services were arranged by Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, with a Mass celebrated at the Chapel at the Christian Brothers Residence, Lincroft. CHARLES H. SEARY, 70, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Oct. 21 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Keyport prior to moving to Cliffwood five years ago. He was a sales representative for Stone Container Corp., New York, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by three brothers, Alan Seary of Bluebell, Pa., Robert Seary of Cliffwood, and Preston Seary of Absecon; and his sister, Caroline Seary of Jersey City. ROBERT W. DALY, 72, of Middletown, died Oct. 21 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Union City, he lived in Middletown the past 50 years. He was employed at Belford Seafood Co-Op, Belford, for 22 years, prior to retirement in 1998. He served in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of private during the Korean War, and served in the 201st Armored Field Artillery Battalion in Germany. He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Daly of Bricktown. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine J. Egbert Daly of Middletown; a son Robert P. and daughter-in-law Donna Daly of Laurence Harbor; a daughter, Kathleen L. Corridon of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; five brothers, Philip Daly of Eugene, Ore., Milton Daly of Freehold, Kenneth Daly of Port Charlotte, Fla., James Daly of Secaucus, and Eugene Daly of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; two sisters, Florence Lawrence of North Bergen, and Eileen Reulbach of Maywood; and four grandchildren. HELEN A. NESBIHAL RUF, 94, of Middletown, died Oct. 21 at Wellington Hall, Hackensack. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Indianapolis, Ind., prior to moving to Middletown in 1946. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, George Ruf, in 1956. She is survived by her son George F. and daughter-in-law Kathryn Ruf of Red Bank; her daughter Barbara A. and son-in-law Luke Reynolds of Carlstadt; a sister, Geraldine Gilligan of Middletown; a nephew, John Gilligan of Middletown; a grandson; and many nieces and nephews. FLORENCE ELLIOT LONGO, 90, of Keyport, died Oct. 22 at Beachview Extended Care Facility, Keansburg. Born in England, she previously lived in New York and Point Pleasant prior to moving to Keyport. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Longo, in 1982. She is survived by her son Arthur and daughter-in-law Teresa Longo of the New Monmouth section of Middletown; a sister, Estelle Lieberman of Lakeworth, Fla.; and grandchildren Barbara and Richard Longo of New Monmouth.
