ANNA "SUGAR" PARILLO GUERRIERO, 69, of North Brunswick died Oct. 21 at home. Born in New Brunswick, she was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick. She was employed at Avery Label Co., North Brunswick, for 22 years, retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. She was a co-founder of the Pop Warner Cheerleaders organization. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Anthony J. Guerriero of North Brunswick; two daughters, Judy Staropoli of Westerville, Ohio, and Lisa Chaszar of Bordentown; a son, Anthony Guerriero Jr. of South River; and seven grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church. Entombment was at Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum, North Brunswick.
ARTHUR S. CROSBY, 80, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Oct. 23 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Margaret Sullivan Crosby, died in 1984. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Neminski of Sayreville; four sons, Arthur Jr. of South Amboy, John of Gloucester Township, Richard of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Gary of Parlin; a sister Frances McAllif of Bayonne; a brother, Thomas Crosby of Lakewood; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment
was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.
SAMUEL FREEMAN, 84, of Sayreville died Oct. 26 in Bartley Care Center, Jackson. His wife, Stella Siarniak Freeman, died in 2000. Surviving are a son, David Freeman of Millstone; four daughters, Mary Ann Welch of Richmond, Va., Barbara Kuzma of Lakeland, Fla., Patricia Beddows of Tequesta, Fla., and Lori Freeman of Kansas City, Mo.; and four grandchildren. STELLA T. RAWA HORPI, 79, of Old Bridge died Oct. 25 in Care One Center, East Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, George, and by a grandson, Paul Kiraly. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Kiraly of Clifton, Susan Fredericks of Nutley and Carol Daley of Old Bridge; a brother, Anthony Rawa Jr. of the Fords section of Woodbridge; two sisters, Anna Sitek of Paulsboro and Jean Siswo of Union; and two grandchildren. was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
JULIA C. McCARTHY, 92, of Old Bridge died Oct. 25 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Matthew, died in 1968, and a son, Joseph, died in 1952. Surviving are two sons, Matthew of Hendersonville, N.C., and William of Old Bridge; a brother, Robert Cannon of Washington Township; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. CHRISTOPHER THOMAS PICCO, 14, of Old Bridge died Oct. 24 in Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City. He was a student at St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel. He was a member of the Junior Titans ice hockey travel club and Old Bridge Little League. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Ruda. Surviving are his parents, Eugene and Sharon of Old Bridge; a brother, Eugene, and a sister, Dana, both at home; his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Florence Picco of Staten Island, N.Y.; his maternal grandfather, Salvatore of Las Vegas; and his paternal great-grandparents, Francis Picco of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jenny Mascolo of Staten Island. LUCILLE M. WAGNER SHAW, 84, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Oct. 22 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Her husband, Alan Shaw, died in 1994.
