Ferdinand Donato Vezzosi Jr.
Mr. Vezzosi, 60, of Shrewsbury died July 17 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Born and raised in Newark, he resided in Holmdel before moving to Shrewsbury 20 years ago. Mr. Vezzosi was a elementary wood shop teacher for the Middletown School District for 35 years, retiring two years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. He was a life member and former fire chief of the Holmdel Fire Company. He was predeceased by his former wife, Lynne. Mr. Murphy is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Joseph Vezzosi, and Thomas John and Sue Vezzosi, all of Bluffton, S.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Eric Hoffman of Jackson; a sister, Marilyn Vezzosi Detels of New York City; and five grandchildren. A memorial Mass was offered at St. Michael’s Church. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements. Anna Marie Nicorvo Petillo
Mrs. Petillo, 94, of Red Bank died July 10 at home. Born in South Amboy, she relocated to Red Bank in 1937. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was a seamstress, and a Democratic committeewoman during the 1960s. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Society at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Petillo in 1992. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Francis A. and Elizabeth M. Petillo of Middletown; a daughter, Marilee Petillo Bow, at home; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial

Angele Al-Naaman Kalian
Mrs. Kalian, 77, of Rumson died July 13 at Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, she became an American citizen in 2000. Mrs. Kalian was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Kalian, M.D., in 1989; and two brothers, Yousif and Faiz Al-Naaman. She is survived by her children, Makram A. Kalian of Philadelphia, Mazin A. Kalian of Rumson, and Tamara A. Kalian of Toronto, Canada; a brother, Mundar Al-Naaman of Ireland; two sister, Majida Al-Naaman of Beirut, Lebanon, and Nadira Kassira of Alexandria, Va.; and 10 grandchildren. Stephen J. "Murph" Murphy
Mr. Murphy, 51, of Loch Arbor died July 17 at Meridian Hospice Center, Brick. He resided in Oceanport before moving to Loch Arbor five years ago. Mr. Murphy was the owner of S.J.M. Construction, Loch Arbor. He was predeceased by his father, Francis J. Murphy; and a brother, James P. Murphy. He is survived by his mother, Helen Kannuck Murphy of Hazleton, Pa.; a son, Michael Murphy of Point Pleasant; two daughters, Jennifer Murphy of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Kelly Murphy of Point Pleasant; his former wife, Christine Murphy of Point Pleasant; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Cynthia Murphy of Middletown; a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Vincent Giles of Oceanport; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Janet Helpbringer Rodman
Mrs. Rodman, 80, of Tinton Falls died Aug. 11 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Raised in Ohio, she had been a resident of Monmouth County since 1947. Mrs. Rodman was a homemaker. She was a former volunteer with the Visiting Nurse Association and a former PTA officer. She also served as a Cub Scout den leader and was a member of the American Association of University Women. Mrs. Rodman was predeceased by a son, Glenn S. Rodman, in 1993. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, H. Glenn Rodman; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Kathryn Rodman of Colts Neck; and two grandchildren. A memorial gathering was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Paul A. Tuthill
Mr. Tuthill, 50, of Red Bank died Aug. 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He resided in Washington, D.C., before moving to Red Bank eight years ago. Mr. Tuthill was a sergeant with the U.S. Army before his retirement, having served during the Vietnam era. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Anne; his parents, Joan and Warren Tuthill of Fairfax, Va.; two sons, Lucas Tuthill of Richmond, Va., and Taylor Tuthill of Red Bank; two daughters, Lisa Compton of Gainesville, Va., and Katie Tuthill of Richmond, Va.; four brothers, Warren Jr., Shawn, Byron and Brandan; six sisters, Colleen Smith, Sheila Denise Birtles, Helen Karcher, Erin Driver, Desiree Church and Shannon Stratton; and two grandchildren. Mary A. Petrick
Mrs. Petrick, 88, of Tinton Falls died Aug. 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She had resided in Flushing, N.Y., before moving to Tinton Falls in 1968. Mrs. Petrick was a homemaker. She was a member of Luther Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tinton Falls, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a past member of the Metedeconk River Yacht Club. Mrs. Petrick was predeceased by her husband, Harry J. Petrick, in 1989. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Anna M. Mildred P. Plum Russell
Mrs. Russell, 79, of Keyport, died Aug. 16 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Virginia, she resided in the Aberdeen and Keyport area the past 10 years. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was employed at Surray Luggage, Red Bank, and Helene’s Dress Shop, Shrewsbury. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Russell in 1990. She is survived by two sons, Donald Russell of Little Silver, and Hamilton Russell of Sea Bright; two daughters, Connie Russell of Brielle, and Patricia Dirner of Morganville; a brother, Joseph Plum of Idaho; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 18 from 10-11 a.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
Penny Gledhill Loring
Mrs. Loring, 55, of Fair Haven died July 23 at home. She was a graduate of Monmouth College, West Long Branch, where she earned a degree in anthropology. Mrs. Loring was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her parents, Lorraine and Raymond Bucko; her first husband, Sidney Gledhill, in 1992; a son, Devin, in 2001; and two sisters, Paulette Shovlin, in 2003, and Pamela Bucko, in 1993. Alfred B. "Casey" Cassanese
Mr. Cassanese, 87, of Fair Haven died July 21 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Fair Haven the past 52 years. He was employed at the U.S. Postal Service, Red Bank, for 38 years, retiring in 1977. Mr. Cassanese served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. He enjoyed time with his family, and golf. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph, in 1998; and a sister, Catherine Cassanese, in 1982. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Brenda Smith Cassanese; a stepson, Charles Fugate Jr. of Carbonado, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Susan O’Brien of Fair Haven; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Joseph H. Fitzpatrick
Mr. Fitzpatrick, 78, of Oceanport died July 21 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. A native of Hoboken, he resided in Shrewsbury and in Red Bank for 30 years before moving to Oceanport five years ago. Mr. Fitzpatrick was vice president at Alexander & Alexander Services Inc., New York City, where he was employed several years before retiring. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red, Bank, where he was also an usher. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eileen Redmond Fitzpatrick; four sons, Joseph T. Fitzpatrick of Shrewsbury, Kevin M. Fitzpatrick of Santa Cruz, Calif., Michael J. Fitzpatrick of Bridgewater, and Peter D. Fitzpatrick of Jackson; three daughters, Anne F.
