MARIE T. GOETZ, 73, of Freehold Township, formerly of Old Bridge, died Sept. 23 at Bartley Health Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, Jackson. Her husband, William, died in 1977. Surviving are three sons, Donald of Collegeville, Pa., William Jr. of Old Bridge and Paul of Freehold; two daughters, Theresa of the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey and Bernadette of Freehold; a brother, Robert Walsh of Boca Raton, Fla.; a sister, Ellen Piro of Manalapan; and 13 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Freehold Township. Interment
was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
LEONARD ZUMPANO, 72, of Old Bridge died Sept. 22 while on vacation in Alberta, Canada. Surviving are his wife, Doris Lauer Zumpano; a son, Eric of Jackson; three daughters, Anne Zechel of Rubicon, Wis., Diane Luiken of Pottsville, Pa., and Laura Swier of Matawan; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
ELIZABETH A. MELLENDICK QUINN, 69, of Old Bridge died Sept. 25 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was employed by the Old Bridge Board of Education for 20 years. Her husband, William T. Sr., died in 1986. Surviving are three sons, William T. Jr. of Cranbury, Stephen of Marlboro and Mark of the Stewartsville section of Greenwich Township; a daughter, Liza Zier of the Toms River section of Dover; a brother, Edmund Mellendick of Bayonne; a sister, Rosetta Gallagher, also of Bayonne; and 11 grandchildren. FRANCIS G. SILKOWSKI JR., 51, of Sayreville died Sept. 28 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his wife, Julia Angelone Silkowski; two sons, Francis Silkowski III and Paul Muszewski, both of Sayreville; three daughters, April Silkowski, Jessica Silkowski and Stephine Silkowski, all of Sayreville; a brother, John Silkowski of Pennsylvania; a sister, Christine Adams, also of Pennsylvania; and a grandson. RUSSELL W. SIMCOX, 72, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Sept. 28 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His son, James Simcox, died in 1999. Surviving are his wife, Pauline J. Cuccurullo Simcox; three daughters, Kathleen Simcox of Bridgewater, Diane Simcox of Old Bridge and PaulaJo Giannace of Sayreville; a son, William Simcox of Manalapan; and five grandchildren. WALTER S. WASILKOWSKI, 95, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Sept. 24 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. His wife, Mary Bohan Wasilkowski, died in 1998. BENJAMIN J. BOEHM, 76, of Sayreville died Sept. 28 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed by the Sayreville Police Department for 27 1/2 years, retiring as a lieutenant. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Fritz Boehm; two daughters, Mary Kilgallen of Sayreville and Beth Boehm of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Christopher Boehm of Pennsburg, Pa., and Kurt Boehm of Athens, Ga.; a brother, Harold Boehm of Sayreville; two sisters, Catherine Borak of South River and Joan Sweeney of Sayreville; and six grandchildren. EDNA SZKODNY DOMZAL, 74, of Sayreville died Sept. 24 at home. FREDERICK J. HOOVER SR., 82, of East Brunswick died Sept. 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was a commissioner of the board of fire commissioners for East Brunswick Fire Department District No. 1 from its inception in 1980 until 1988, and served as its chairman. He was a retired member and past captain of the East Brunswick Rescue Squad. Surviving are his wife, Frances Walsh Hoover; a son, Frederick Jr. of East Brunswick; a daughter, Gayle Ferri of Trenton; two sisters, Jean B. Kenny of Metuchen and Gladys L. Billington of Sayreville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a niece, several nephews and cousins. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment
