MARY ARVAY, 81, of East Brunswick died Sept. 22 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, John. Surviving are a son, John Kishel of East Brunswick; a brother, Stefan, and a sister, Katarina, both of Czechoslovakia; two grandsons, Scott and John Kishel; and a niece, Boshena Soltes of California. A Mass is planned for 11 a.m. on Sept. 26 at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment
will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
ANTHONY J. BRUNO JR., 70, of Milltown died Sept. 19 at home. He was a member of the Milltown Youth Guidance Council and the Milltown Board of Adjustment. Surviving are his wife, Marie E. Abate Bruno; a son, Michael Bruno; two daughters, Diane DeVoe and Stephanie Lebiak; his mother, Angelina Buongiovanni Bruno; his mother-in-law, Anna Previte Abate; two brothers, Carmen and Peter Bruno; three sisters, Mary Lombardo, Martha Cresti and Carol Ann Lombardo; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Entombment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milltown Rescue Squad, P.O. ANNE D. ERNEST, 64, of East Brunswick died Sept. 20 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are a dear friend, Elizabeth S. Pittenger, with whom she lived; two nieces, Patricia Greer of the Highland Lakes section of Vernon Township and Ann Marie McAndrews of North Arlington; and two nephews, John Egan of Skitook, Okla., and James Egan of the Fords section of Woodbridge. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment
was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
JOHN F. CASEY, 75, of Old Bridge died Sept. 16 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, June Taylor Casey; a son, John N. of Old Bridge; a grandson, Tyler John; and two nephews. MILTON B. GOLASZEWSKI, 86, of South Plainfield, formerly of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Sept. 14 in Mullenberg Hospital, Plainfield. His wife, Olga, died in 1981. Surviving are a sister, Joyce Podding of Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
JOSEPH RYTEL, 64, of Naples, Fla., formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 15 at home. His wife, Susan Fayko Rytel, died in 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Rytel-Campbell of Slingerlands, N.Y.; a brother, Frank Rytel of Perth Amboy; two grandsons; and a goddaughter. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 21 at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment
will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.
JAMES J. WEEKS, 85, of Old Bridge died Sept. 13 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. A daughter, Noreen Mazzeo, died in 1997. Surviving are his wife, Mary McCauley Weeks; three daughters, Kathleen Zur of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Mary Ellen Clark of the Hewitt section of West Milford and Eileen Morello of Bayonne; two brothers, Robert of Bayonne and Joseph of the Toms River section of Dover; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment
was in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.
ROBERT D. HALTON, 67, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of Old Bridge, died Sept. 10 in William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital, Hammonton. His wife, Lucienne, died in 2000. Surviving are a brother, John of Merrick, N.Y.; two sisters, Rosemary Brown of the Collings Lakes section of Buena Vista Township and Lorraine Nagy of East Brunswick; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. HELEN A. KUNITZ MINNICK, 96, of South Amboy died Sept. 16 at home. Her husband, Frank J. Minnick Sr., died in 1974. Surviving are three sons, Frank J. Minnick Jr. of Middletown, James J. Minnick of Ocean City and Joseph R. Minnick of Neptune; four daughters, Regina Friberg of the Lincroft section of Middletown, Helen M. Minnick of South Amboy, Mary Pawlowski of the Iselin section of Woodbridge and Joan P. Donohue of Sayreville; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. DOLORES TUFTS NOVAK, 79, of South River, formerly of Spotswood, died Sept. 15 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Jane Novak, and by two sons, Brian Keith and Warren J. Novak. Surviving are her husband, James S. Novak Sr.; four daughters, Barbara Cross of Laurel, Del., Jane Hansen of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, Dorrie Novak of Kent, Del., and Laura Alfrey of Sayreville; two sons, James S. Novak Jr. of Sayreville and Keith Novak of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a sister, Helena Clinton of the Toms River section of Dover; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
