ERLINDA CRUZ HERNANDEZ, 70, of East Brunswick died July 14 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are four brothers, Dante Cruz of the Philippines, Ricardo Cruz and Enrico Cruz, both of Queens, N.Y., and Leandro Cruz, with whom she lived; two sisters, Anjelina Lopez of Los Angeles and Rhodora DeLeon of Long Island, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. NINA DRANITKA IWANOW, 78, of South River died July 12 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Peter, died in 1979. Surviving are a daughter, Anastasia Kristensen of Diamond Point, N.Y.; two sons, Alexandr of East Brunswick and Genadit of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A service was held at St. Euphrosynia Belarus Orthodox Church, South River. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
ANDRIJ MORIAK of Sayreville died July 10 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are his wife, Miroslava "Miriam" Sagadin Moriak; a daughter, Daniella Stasiak of Sayreville; a son, Zenon Moriak of Mountainside; a brother in the Ukraine; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret. Interment
was in the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption Cemetery, Woodbridge.
VIOLETA VIRAY, 61, died July 15 at her sister’s home in East Brunswick. Surviving are two brothers, Orlando Viray and Elmer Viray, both of Masantol, the Philippines; and two sisters, Rosamistica V. Hernandez of East Brunswick and Nenette Viray of the Philippines. Services are planned for 7 p.m. on July 18 at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment
will be private.
CHRISTINE FEDAK ZACH, 94, of Sayreville died June 25 at Carriage House Manor, Sayreville. Mrs. Zach was the owner and operator of Christine Zach Beauty Shop, Sayreville, for more than 50 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who died in 1959. She is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Burial took place at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
DONNA MARIE SELTENRICH MATTABONI, 46, of Sayreville, formerly of Jersey City and Maywood, died June 29 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Surviving are her husband, Russell C.; a son, Christopher R.; her mother, Gertrude Seltenrich of Maywood; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Terri Seltenrich. of Midland Park; a sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Phillip De Mauro of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville, followed by burial at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
KENNETH WILLIAM HATHAWAY, 88, of The Villages, Howell, died June 22 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He is survived by his wife, the former Anna May Gavin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and John Rocco of Freehold, and Elizabeth and Edward Purcell of Farmingdale; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Betty Hathaway of Bridgewater, and John and Barbara Hathaway of East Brunswick; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn and Dominick Scornavacca of Stuart, Fla., and Anne Cassidy of Cypress, Texas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. CATHERINE M. MALLOY of Laurence Harbor died June 24 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newark, she lived in the Bronx, N.Y., prior to moving to Laurence Harbor 30 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin Malloy, in 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Pat Malloy of Laurence Harbor, and Kathy Balent of Middlesex; two sons, Ryan Malloy of Carbondale, Colo., and James Malloy of Keyport; and four grandsons. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Lawrence’s Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. Interment

JAYMIE ALEXANDER LAMANTIA, 2, of Howell died June 25 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Jaymie was born in New Brunswick. He is survived by his parents, Michael S. and Denise Lewandowski Lamantia; two brothers, Michael and Ryan; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Barbara Lamantia of Manalapan; his maternal grandparents, Ken and Betty Lewandowski of Matawan; his great-grandmother, Helen Lewandowski of Sayreville; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Farmingdale, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. JOHN JOSEPH GERTZ JR., 45, of Bridgewater, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Spotswood, died June 29 at home. He was a self-employed general contractor for the past four years. He previously was a driver for Poland Spring, Bridgewater. Mr. Gertz is survived by his mother, Maureen Wren Gertz of Monroe; a brother, Kevin of Hellertown, Pa.; four sisters, Patricia Zagnit of Spotswood, Theresa Varga of Sayreville, Mary Beth Sapanara of Branchburg, and Ellen Gertz of South River; his companion, Susan Rice; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monroe.
