ERNEST NAGY, 76, of East Brunswick died July 1 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in Sagan, Pa. Mr. Nagy was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. Mr. Nagy is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Minor; two sons, Ernest Jr. of Bricktown and Brian of East Brunswick; three daughters, Tresa Murphy of Spotswood, Anne Nagy of Lititz, Pa., and Laurette Nagy of North Brunswick; a brother, William Nagy of Marion Heights, Pa.; two sisters, Ann Scott of Kulpmont, Pa., and Rose Brozoskie of Melbourne, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
EDELWEISS LAUXMAN MacKAY, 86, of East Brunswick died June 24 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mrs. MacKay is survived by her husband, John; three sons, Barry and John, both of Monroe, and Drew of Spotswood; a daughter, Cynthia Carson of Spotswood; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Interment
was private.
OLEH DUBIAHA, 74, of South River died June 25 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He is survived by his wife, the former Shenia Litiaho); two sons, Julian and Thomas, both of South River; and several nieces and nephews. A liturgy was offered at St. Mary of Zyrovicy Church, followed by burial in the church cemetery, East Brunswick.
MAX KON, 81, of East Brunswick died June 26 at the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Mr. Kon is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Deborah Nathanson; two daughters, Lisa Freedman of Dayton and Susan Cooper of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four granddaughters. Graveside services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
RICHARD L. McCRANEY, 84, of Parlin died June 25 at Summer Hill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Catherine Conroy, who died in 1999; and a sister, Arlene McGiver. He is survived by a daughter, Janet Gill of Old Bridge; a sister, Helen Minard of Sayre, Pa.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Interment
was at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
DENNIS PATRICK McNULTY, 64, of Monroe died June 30 at home.Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah Stafford; his mother, Tekla McNulty of Freehold; a son, Christopher of Old Bridge; four daughters, Jeanne McNulty, Nancy McNulty and Peggy Russo, all of Monroe, and Carol Santiago of Spotswood; two sons-in-law, Nicholas Russo and Peter Santiago; a daughter-in-law, Michele McNulty; four sisters, Patricia Reszkowski of Old Bridge, Kathleen Giuamano of Sayreville, Eileen Soltys of Deptford and Therese Freyer of Howell; and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, New Brunswick, followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
KATHRYNE ELSIE BASNAK JERANEK, 84, of East Brunswick died June 29 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by a sister, Millie Caccamo, and a son, Gerald Jeranek. Surviving are her husband, Louis; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Richard Bitzer of Monmouth Junction; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Jeranik of Marlton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. GIACOMO SOLURI, 82, of Sayreville died July 17 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Ida Albanese Soluri; a son, Anthony Soluri of Sayreville; a daughter, Joan Lewis, also of Sayreville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville.
RENE A. "RICK" THOMAS, 78, of Sayreville died July 19 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his wife, Peg Cavanaugh Thomas; a daughter, Patricia Thompson of Monroe; a son, Michael W. Thomas of Spotswood; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A service was held at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment
was in Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
MARY ELIZABETH "BETTY" SHYMANSKI, 68, of Old Bridge, formerly of South River, died July 18 at home. Surviving are her husband, Edward C. Shymanski; two sons, Edward C. Shymanski Jr. of Old Bridge and Michael Shymanski of St. Joseph, Mich.; four daughters, Mary Ellen Berdel of Monroe, Kathleen Wakefield of Cochranville, Pa., and Diane Markus and Janet Shymanski, both of Old Bridge; two brothers, John O’Holloran of Bayonne and James O’Holloran of Florida; two sisters, Mildred Doherty of Lyndhurst and Geraldine Schork of Bayonne; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
