Larry Taylor

Memorial services for Larry "L.T." Taylor of Hobbs will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.

Leon Green will officiate.

Cremation has taken place.

Mr. Taylor, 62, died Monday, June 5, in Hobbs. He was born April 14, 1938, in Arizona.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and moved to Hobbs in 1976. He worked for Leaders for nine years.

Survivors include a son, Shawn Taylor; and two grandsons.

Harvey L. Castleman

A private memorial service for Harvey L. Castleman of Hobbs was held on Tuesday, June 6, at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Burial was under the direction of Memory Gardens Direct Services.

Mr. Castleman, 89, died Saturday, June 3. He was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Maynard County, Texas.

He was a resident of Sunbridge Nursing Home.

Rene Widman

Services for Rene Widman of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Kirby officiating.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Widman, 42, died Sunday, June 4, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born Aug. 9, 1957, in Lewisville, Ark.

She worked for the U.S Postal Service in Hobbs for the past seven years. She had lived in Lea County for 27 years.

Survivors include two sons, Trent Widman of Hobbs and Eric Widman of The Colony, Texas; her mother and stepfather, Diane and Ron Smith of Stamps, Ark.; her father, Dickie Dale Dickson of Stamps; two brothers, Danny Dickson of Marque, Texas, and Paul Dickson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Gina Guerrera of Sacramento, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Cybil Watson of DeSota, Texas; paternal grandmother, Mildred Dickson of Stamps; and an uncle.

Her grandfathers preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Texas Cancer Center in Odessa.

Frances A. Spruill

CARLSBAD -- Services for Frances Alene Spruill, mother of Kathleen Ross of Hobbs, will be held at 11 a.m. today at West Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Bob Bacon of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to service time today.

Mrs. Spruill, 85, died Sunday, June 4, at Landsun Health Care Center. She was born Oct. 15, 1914, in Carlsbad. She married William "Blake" Spruill on May 6, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas.

She was raised and educated in Carlsbad, graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1931. She won a New Mexico state typing championship and while in high school was named the first "Miss Carlsbad," in 1933.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Spruill was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Dr. Gary Jan Spruill of Fort Collins, Colo., and Lt. Commander, Rtd. William Don Spruill of Pensacola, Fla..; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A brother, Harold Dickson; two sisters, Belva Jane Macioci and Lena McKinney; and two half-brothers, Hugh and John Dickson, preceded her in death.

Albina Iglesias

TATUM -- Funeral Mass for Albinia Iglesias of Tatum will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Tatum Cemetery under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.

Mrs. Iglesias, 53, died Sunday, June 4, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born July 6, 1946, in Porbenir, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Manuel Iglesias on July 7, 1971, in Mexico.

Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Olga Iglesias of Plainview, Texas; three sons, Hector DeLaO of Tatum, Sergio Iglesias of Lovington and Ernesto Iglesias of Plainview; two brothers, David DeLaO of Tatum and Victor DeLaO of Mexico; two sisters, Gloria Orrantia and Maria Nuņez, both of Mexico; and nine grandchildren.

Her parents, Severiano and Gabirela DeLaO; six sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Larry K. Taylor

Services are pending with Griffin Funeral Home for Larry K. Taylor of Hobbs.

Mr. Taylor, 62, died Monday, June 5, at his home. He was born April; 14, 1938, in Pima, Ariz.

Immediate survivors include a son, Shawn Taylor of Hobbs.

Connie L. Roberts

ANDREWS, Texas -- Services for former Hobbsan Connie Lou Roberts of Andrews will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Andrews Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Bob Zap, a retired minister, will officiate. Burial will be held at noon at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hobbs, under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Mrs. Roberts, 62, died Wednesday, May 31, at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was born May 25, 1938, in Hobbs. She married J. Earl Roberts on June 7, 1955, in Hobbs.

She moved to Andrews from Hobbs in 1970. She was a retired office manager of a local cable television company.

Mrs. Roberts was a member of Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Sabrina Robinson and Vickie Roberts, both of Midland; a son, Jay Lee Roberts of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a brother, Bill Moore of Silver City; three sisters, Kay Atwood of Carlsbad, Jean Seaborn of Hobbs and Ruth Wicks of Sidney, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Charles Walker

EUNICE -- Services are pending with Calvary Funeral Home for Charles Walker of Eunice.

Mr. Walker died Thursday, June 1, at St. John's Hospital in Mo.

Immediate survivors include his wife, June Walker of the home.

Rita Calhoun
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Graveside services for former Hobbs resident Maurita Faye Calhoun of Fayetteville were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Scott Cemetery near Prairie Grove.
Burial followed under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
Mrs. Calhoun, 67, died on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at her home. She was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Cushing, Okla.
She was a homemaker and a Protestant.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Calhoun, of the home; one son, Kevin Roy Calhoun of Fayetteville; and one sister, Mildred Memeo of Redding, Calif.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Stowers and Kenneth Stowers.

Dorthy Sullivan
Services are pending with Griffin Funeral Home for former Hobbs resident Dorthy Sullivan of Memphis, Tenn.
Mrs. Sullivan, 78, died Thursday, Dec. 14, in Memphis. She was born on Nov. 11, 1922.

J.C. Mann
Services are pending with Griffin Funeral Home for J.C. Mann of Hobbs.
Mr. Mann, 71, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, in Big Spring. He was born on March 27, 1929, in Durant, Okla.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Joann Mann of the home; two sons, Mike Mann of Hobbs and John Mann of Dallas; one daughter, Lisa Seed of Hobbs; and his mother, Jewel Taylor of Hobbs.

Alma L. Rayburn
Services for Alma Lois Rayburn of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
Darrel Bethany will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rayburn, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1930, in Electra, Texas.
She married Louis Rayburn on Dec. 25, 1946, in Electra.
She drove a school bus in Eunice for many years. She worked for Good Eats Bakery and Furr's Bakery.
She was a Hobbs resident for the past 35 years.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Patsy Jordan and Dana Rayburn, both of Hobbs; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.W. and Lavera Hindman; and one brother.

Irene Galyean
Services for Irene Galyean of Hobbs will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.
Virgil Webb will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 15, at Benton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark.
The family will greet friends today from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Galyean, 76, died on Monday, Dec. 11, in Lubbock. She was born on Dec. 17, 1923, in Bentonville.
She married Luther Galyean on April 12, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She lived in Hobbs since June 1970. She was a bookkeeper for Latimer Auto Sales.
She was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ for 35 years.
Survivors include two sons, Curran Galyean of Tulsa, Okla., and Michael Galyean of Lubbock; one daughter, Karen Hedgecorth of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, James Looney of Tulsa; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Mexico Christian Children's Home, West Star St., Box 48, Portales, N.M., 88130.

Fred J. Allen
LOVINGTON - Services for Fred James Allen of Lovington will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Jackson Avenue Baptist Church.
The Rev. Mike McGuire and the Rev. Stan Blevins will officiate.
Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Mr. Allen, 75, died on Sunday, Dec. 10, at his home. He was born on Nov. 6, 1925, in Corsicana, Texas.
He married Bobbye Elaine Wright on Jan. 19, 1947, in Hobbs.
He was a former Boy Scout leader, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Jackson Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, David Allen of Hobbs; one daughter, Sandra Boatright of Lubbock; one brother, Herbie Allen Jr. of Hobbs; one sister, Helen Rugg of Sterling, Mass.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Danny Presley
MIDLAND - Services for Danny Presley of Denver City, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Kelview Heights Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jerry Berry will officiate.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Mr. Presley, 44, died on Sunday, Dec. 10, at his home. He was born on July 23, 1956, in Odessa.
He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for 16 years and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He retired from Amerada Hess as a lease operator in Monument.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah, of the home; three sons, Jamie Presley of Lubbock, Danny "Bud" Lee Presley Jr. of Midland and Shane Presley of Denver City; one daughter, Danna Presley of Denver City; one brother, Calvin Presley of Midland; and his mother, Louise Hollums of Midland.

A.R. Hardin
OLNEY, Texas - Services for former Monument resident A. R. Hardin of Olney will be held at 11 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Lunn Funeral Home.
Scotte Clark will officiate.
Burial will be in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
The family will receive guests from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Hardin, 74, died Sunday, Dec. 10, in Lubbock. He was born March 21, 1926, in Archer County.
He married Annie Laurie Allen on April 8, 1950, in Denver City.
He retired after 21 years as a chemical operator for Climax Chemical Company in Monument. He moved to Olney in 1993 from Monument.
He was a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Ronald Hardin of Amherst; one daughter, Judy Rowan of Knox City; one sister, Arcola Lester of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ace and Eula Hardin.
