Juan I. Rubio
LUBBOCK - Services for former Hobbs resident Juan I. Rubio of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, at Colgate Street Church of Christ.
Fred Sierra of El Paso, Pedro Gonzales and Julian Castaneda of Plainview will officiate.
Burial will follow in Lockney Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home.
Mr. Rubio, 56, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, in Lubbock. He was born on March 30, 1944, in San Antonio.
He married SanJuana Lopez on Dec. 9, 1967, in Abernathy.
He graduated from Sunset School of Preaching on July 9, 1965, and from Southwest College in 1978. He was a minister in the Church of Christ.
He moved from Hobbs to Lubbock in 1977.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Raymon Rubio of Lubbock and Ivan Rubio of McKinney; two daughters, Rebecca Perez of Lubbock and Rita Rachel Rodriguez of Uvalde; one brother, Emilio Rubio of Lubbock; three sisters, Bertha Mora and Maria Ellena Salas, both of Lubbock, and Lucia Hernandez of San Angelo; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Ramona Saucedo Rubio.
Melta Faye Wright
Services for Melta Faye Wright of Hobbs will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 27, at Trinity Free Holiness Church.
Orville Cottrell will officiate.
Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today. The family will greet friends from 2-5 p.m. today.
Mrs. Wright, 57, died on Friday, Nov. 24, at Lea County Good Samaritan Village. She was born on Nov. 4, 1943, in Waurika, Okla.
She married Lewis Wright on July 7, 1961, in Waurika.
Mrs. Wright moved to Hobbs in 1964. She was active in her church and loved her family.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Dallen Wright of Paul's Valley, Okla., Chris Wright of Chelsea, Okla., and Kyle Wright of Hobbs; one daughter, Dalene Sage of Hobbs; two brothers, Darvin Bates of Waurika and Jim Bates of Wilson, Okla.; one sister, Leota Daughtery of Keller, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Joe and Mell Vada Bates; one brother, Bill Bates; one sister, Betty Ruth Bates; and one grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Free Holiness Church.
Melta Faye Wright
Services are pending with Griffin Funeral Home for Melta Faye Wright of Hobbs.
Mrs. Wright, 57, died Friday, Nov. 24, at Lea County Good Samaritan Village. She was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Waurika, Okla.
Immediate survivors include her husband, Lewis Wright, of the home; three sons, Dallen Wright of Paul's Valley, Okla., Chris Wright of Chelsea, Okla. and Kyle Wright of Hobbs; and one daughter, Dalene Sage of Hobbs.
Jim Anderson
Funeral services for "Big" Jim Anderson, of Andrews, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel, 705 North Main Street, Andrews Texas.
Leo Copeland, minister, of Seminole will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetary under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mr. Anderson, 58, died Wednesday, November 22 in Midland Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 2, 1942 in Drumright, Oklahoma. He married Wilma J. Helton on Dec. 24, 1971 in Seminole, Tex.
He was a retired oil field salesman.
He moved to Andrews in 1972 from Hobbs. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Anderson, of Andrews, Tex.; a son, Ashley Anderson, of Andrews, Tex.; two brothers Leon Anderson, of Hobbs and Dale Anderson, of Irving, Tex.; a sister, Erma Downs, of Odessa, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
Eva Mayme Halkins
LOVINGTON - Services for Eva Mayme Halkins of Lovington will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, at Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.
David McLauachan will officiate.
Burial will follow at Tatum Cemetery under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Miss Halkins, 88, died on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Lovington Good Samaritan. She was born on Feb. 25, 1912, in Aylesworth, Okla.
She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Roswell.
Survivors include one brother, Doug Halkins of Tatum; two sisters, Alene Halford of Tatum and Jean Dutton of Los Angeles; and several nieces and nephews.
James L. Kimery
LUBBOCK - Services for James L. Kimery of Lubbock, father of Gerald and Keith Kimery of Hobbs, will be held at 2 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Tim Winn will officiate.
Military graveside rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. (MST) on Monday, Nov. 27, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.
The Rev. J. Bradley Bennett will officiate.
Mr. Kimery, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Covenant Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 18, 1928, in Limestone, Tenn.
He married Dorothy Mapp on April 16, 1971, in Seminole. He had been a resident of Lubbock since November 1999.
He was a retired Air Force master sergeant, serving 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
He was the state adjutant quartermaster for the Department of New Mexico Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also the commander-in-chief of the National VFW and was a private pilot of small aircraft.
He was a Methodist.
Other survivors include his wife, of the family home; another son, Jerry Kimery of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Mildred Carrington of Limestone; and eight grandchildren.

Eva M. Halkins
LOVINGTON - Services are pending with Smith-Rogers Funeral Home for Eva Mayme Halkins of Lovington.
Mrs. Halkins, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Lovington Good Samaritan Center. She was born Feb. 25, 1912.
Kelly D. Farar
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Services for former Hobbsan Kelly Denise Farar will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, at Prairie Haven Cemetery Chapel.
Cremation has taken place.
Ms. Farar, 19, died Nov. 2, in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 11, 1981, in Hobbs.
She attended Hobbs schools until she was 11, when she moved to Las Vegas.
Survivors include a son, Jordan; a daughter, Kalysta; her mother, Margaret of Las Vegas; paternal grandparents, Vera and E.L. Shook of Hobbs; a sister, Teresa Marshall of Lovington; a brother, Zachary Farar of Ranger, Texas; two nieces; one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her father, Dennis Farar; a brother, John Farar; maternal grandparents, John and Phala Stevens; and a cousin preceded her in death.
Erma L. Werneck
Services for Erma Lou Werneck of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
The Rev. LaVoid Ford of Temple Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, in Dexter Mo., Cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Memorial rites will be conducted by the Hobbs Rebekah Lodge Crescent, No. 3.
Visitation will be held until service time today.
Mrs. Werneck, 66, died Monday, Nov. 20, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Union, Mo. She married Carl Werneck on Nov. 22, 1953, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1976.
She was of the noble grand of Rebekah Lodge, Crescent No. 3.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Werneck of Louden, Tenn., and Phillip Werneck of Ruidoso; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Elex and Hallie Hanners; and a brother also preceded her in death.

Fernando J. Solis
Funeral Mass for Fernando Joel Solis of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Helena Catholic Church.
The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery Babyland under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs.
Fernando was stillborn on Friday, Nov. 17, at Lea Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his mother, Kimberly Ramirez of Hobbs; a sister, Alyssa Serna of Hobbs; maternal grandmother, Isabel Alvarado of Hobbs; paternal grandmother, Arcelia Fraire of Hobbs; one aunt; eight uncles; and numerous cousins.
His great-grandfather, Martin Ramirez, preceded him in death.
Sidney Lanier
MIDLAND - Services for Sidney Lanier of Midland, who worked in Hobbs, will be held at 1 p.m. today (CST) at Pipkin funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Bob Porterfield of West Kentucky Street Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. Lanier, 88, died Monday, Nov. 20, at his home. He was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Sulphur Springs. He married Jerry Tindal in 1945. She preceded him in death.
He moved to Midland in 1937. He served in the European Theater during World War II. He returned to Midland in 1944 and resumed his profession in the oil business.
Mr. Lanier owned and operated Basin Well Service until his retirement in the late 1970s.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Mills of Midland; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A son, Jack Landon Lanier; three brothers, Jimmy Lanier, Wayne Lanier and Billy Lanier; and his parents, W.P. and Mattie Lanier, also preceded him in death.

Willie T. Parr
Services for Willie Travis Parr of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. (CST) at Church of Christ in St. Joe, Texas.
Loyd Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Park Cemetery in St. Joe, under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mr. Parr, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 19, at Hobbs Good Samaritan Village. He was born Aug. 31, 1913, in Dye Mound, Texas. He married Velma Grace Allison. She preceded him in death.
He was a member of the St. Joe Riding Club and St. Joe Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Parr of Hobbs, Carl Parr of Granbury, Texas, and David Parr of Azle, Texas; a sister, Grace Baker of Gault, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
His parents, Willie and Zele Parr; and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Lottie Coppedge
Services for Lottie Coppedge of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Bel Aire Baptist Church.
The Rev. Dean Evans, Randy Evans and Delbert Hender-son will officiate.
Burial will follow at 4 p.m. (CST) at Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas, under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Mrs. Coppedge, 87, died Friday, Nov. 17, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 19, 1913, in Palmer, Texas.
She married E.L. Coppedge on July 17, 1957, in Brownfield. He died Aug. 17.
Survivors include seven sons, Dean Evans, Leroy Evans, Kenneth Evans, Loyd Evans, Floyd Evans, Bobby Coppedge and Larry Coppedge; six daughters, Jean Henderson, Peggy Leach, Louise Capps, Naomi Turner, Sue Allphin and Kay Whinery; three brothers, Hughey McKee, Winifred McKee and Bill McKee; two sisters, Ola Johnson and Lola Mensch; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence McKee; one daughter, Patsy Bell; four brothers and one sister.

Robert W. Lindsey
Services for Robert W. "Bob" Lindsey of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Mem-orial Park under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lindsey, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 16, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1922 in Humboldt, Kan.
He married Barbara Joan Woods.
He was a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Lana Martin, of Hobbs; two brothers, Chuck Lindsey of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Harold Lindsey of Humboldt; two sisters, Mary Edith Littlepage of Iowa and Frances Tweedy of Ida, Kan.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Linda Olsen.
