Marilyn Boerner
Services are pending for Marilyn Boerner of Hobbs at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. Mrs. Boerner, 44, died on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Lea Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1956. Survivors include her husband, Dan Boerner.
Garland L. Brown
SEAGRAVES - Funeral services for Garland L. Brown, 79, of Seagraves will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, at the First Baptist Church in Seagraves. The Rev. Rick Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Seagraves Cemetery under the direction of Head Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown died on Monday, Jan. 8, at his home in Seagraves. He was born Jan. 6, 1922, in Dawson County, Texas, to Jim Brown and Ruth Conder Brown. He married Margie Geraldine Baker on March 23, 1946, in Big Spring. Brown moved from Ackerly, Texas, to Seagraves in 1947. He was an operator for Gaines County and served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Brown was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Nelda Sue Taylor of Brownfield, and Linda Kay Winslett of Glenrose; one brother, Jimmy L. Brown of Sweetwater, Texas; two sisters, Mamie Ferguson of Lamesa, and Jackie Doering of Hobbs; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn E. Graham, and two grandchildren.
Lucille A. Hawn
ALBUQUERQUE - Services for Lucille Alberta Hawn, 68, of Springer will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Roy under the direction of Aspen Funeral Alternatives in Albuquerque. Burial will follow at Roy Cemetery.
Mrs. Hawn died Saturday, Jan. 6, at her daughter's home in Albuquerque.
Mrs. Hawn was born on June 14, 1932, in Roy. She was an employee with A-1 Cleaners for more than 20 years and retired in Springer.
She is survived by four daughters, Myrle Hedlund of Tijeras, Marleen Moore of Hobbs, Doreen Barela of Albuquerque and Lorelei Taylor of Albuquerque; three brothers, Leroy Moore of Palmdale, Calif., Homer Moore of Salem, Ore., and Ray Moore of La Luz; one sister, Shirley Mitchell of Springer; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Hawn was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Lee and Lorean Moore.
Joan Little
LOVINGTON - Services for Joan Little, 72, of Lovington will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, at Prairie Haven Chapel with the Rev. Dan Morris officiating.
Mrs. Little passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Arrangements are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home of Lovington.
Mrs. Little was born on Aug. 23, 1928, in Brownfield to W.W. and Laura Kluding, who both preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1946. Mrs. Little owned and operated Little Answering Service in Lovington and Eunice for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her son, Paul Little of South Carolina; a sister, Idell Stephens of Lovington; a brother, Wes Kluding of Huntington, Ind.; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mrs. Little was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Litter; three brothers, Bruce Kluding, Coleman Kluding and Irvin Kluding; and a sister, Evely Wallace.
Marie T. Peaden
LOVINGTON - Services for Marie Tinsley Peaden of Tatum will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Tatum Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Peaden, 78, died Monday, Jan. 8, at Nor-Lea Regional Hospital in Lovington.
She was born Jan. 29, 1922 in Claiborne Parish, La., to Orie and Joanne Tinsley. She was a resident of Tatum for the past 20 years. Mrs. Peaden married Carroll H. Peaden on June 1, 1946, in Base Chapel Air Force Base in Shreveport/Boosier City, La.
Mrs. Peaden was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Preston R. Peaden of Atlanta, and George W. Peaden of Los Banos, Calif.; a daughter, Kay Pasos of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Twyla Mae Griffin and Cecile Raney, both of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peaden was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clelma D. Tinsley and Talmadge A. Tinsley.
Ruth Rogers
Services are pending for Ruth Rogers of Hobbs at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. Mrs. Rogers, 96, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Hobbs Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Rogers was born on Feb. 9, 1904.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Davis, of Hobbs.
Alice R. Singleton
Services are pending for Alice Ruth Singleton of Hobbs at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs. Mrs. Singleton, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, in Hobbs.
She was born on Dec. 25, 1912, in Scottsville, Texas.
Mrs. Singleton is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and grandchildren.
Margaret Walker
EUNICE - Services for Margaret (Maggie) Walker of Conchas Dam will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Thursday, Jan. 11, in Corsicana, Texas, at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel. West Hill Church of Christ minister Ferman Carpenter will officiate.
Burial will follow at Saint Elmo Cemetery in Winkler, Texas. Funeral arrangements were made by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari and Corley Funeral Home of Corsicana, Texas.
Mrs. Walker, 95, died Sunday, Jan. 7, at her home.
She moved to Eunice in 1964 and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Walker is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann McCann of Corsicana, Lynn Wetzel of Kenai, Alaska, and Barbara Hayes of Conchas Dam; a daughter-in-law; 31 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Davis Walker; a son, James Watt Walker; a stepson, George A. Walker; a daughter-in-law; and a great-granddaughter.

John A. Glasspoole
A funeral service for John Albert Glasspoole of Lovington is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Chapel of Hope. The Rev. Gary Williamson of Hobbs Church of God will officiate. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Hobbs Veter-ans Honor Guard.
Mr. Glasspoole, 74, died on Friday, Jan. 5, at Coven-ant Medical Cen-ter in Lubbock.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1926 in McCamey, Texas.
Mr. Glasspoole joined the United States Army on Aug. 27, 1945, in Tyndall Field, Fla. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and reinlisted in the United States Air Force on March 1946. Mr. Glasspoole was honorably discharged from the Air Force in April 1947.
He was a buck sergeant with the 13th Division of the 3rd and 4th Air Force Palawaan. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippines Indepen-dence Ribbon. Mr. Glasspoole was a retired water well driller.
Mr. Glasspoole was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Delena Glasspoole; his parents, George and Vera Glasspoole; and three brothers.
He is survived by his children, Johnnie Mae McMillan of Coleman, Texas, Dianne Conley of Phoenix, Ariz., Gail Hinson of Lovington and Charlie Hinson of Lovington; three brothers, Tommy Glasspoole of Hobbs, Frank Glasspoole of Russellville, Ark., and Robert Glasspoole of Seymour, Texas; one sister, Emily Dianne Scott of Hobbs; 29 nephews; and 25 nieces.
Willie M. Morgan
Funeral services for Willie M. Morgan, 81, of Hobbs, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Prairie Haven Chapel.
Burial, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, will be at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Visitation at the funeral home is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Mr. Morgan died Saturday, Jan. 6, at Hobbs Health-care Center.
He was born May 25, 1919, in Poolville, Okla., and lived much of his life as a hobo who rode railways all over the world.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Hillary Weaver
LOVINGTON - Funeral services for Hillary "Dick" Paul Weaver, 80, of Lovington, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Malis officiating.
Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home of Lovington.
Mr. Weaver died Friday, Jan. 5, at Nor-Lea General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Quail, Texas, and had lived in Lovington for the past 50 years. He married Jo Marie Stapp on Oct. 29, 1950, in Lovington and worked as a carpenter and maintenance man for New Mexico Junior College before retiring in 1982.
He was a deacon at Park View Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Carl Weaver of Lovington and Ray Lester Weaver of Universal City, Texas; three brothers, Marlin and Robert Weaver, both of San Angelo, and Billy Weaver of Jefferson, Texas; two sisters, Ophelia Fort of Brownwood and Margie Mae Hunt of Tyler; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Paula and Pauline Weaver; his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Don Rogers
Funeral services for Don Rogers of Ruidoso will be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 9, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Michael Erickson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
In an obituary published Sunday, the funeral home incorrectly listed the funeral time as 2 p.m. today.
Mr. Rogers, 65, died Friday, January 5, in Hobbs. He was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Loving.
Mr. Rogers moved to Hobbs in 1947 and graduated from Hobbs High School in 1953. He owned Don Rogers Auto Sales in the 1960s and worked in the domestic and international oilfields from 1970 to 1980. He started Don Rogers Wrecker Service and Repo City in 1990, which he operated until his retirement in 1998, when he moved to Ruidoso.
Mr. Rogers served in the U.S. Army for two years and was involved in the American Legion Post No. 26.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lenard Rogers.
Survivors include his mother, Marie Morris, and his step-father, Claud Morris, both of Hobbs; a son, Bobby Davis of Santa Fe; five daughters, Kellie Murrish of Hobbs, Barbara Groves of Lebanon, Mo., Deeon Gallegos of San Diego, Lara Bailey of Santa Fe and Donice Jarrett of Cairo, Egypt; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Neta L. Irwin
EUNICE - Services for Neta Lynn Irwin, 86, of Clovis are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the First Baptist Church in Eunice. The Rev. Keeney Dickenson will officiate. Burial will follow at Brunson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place from 1-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Irwin died Sunday, Jan. 7, in Clovis. She was born March 3, 1914, in Wynnewood, Okla. She married E.B. (Kat) Irwin on May 13, 1933, in Ardmore, Okla. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Irwin lived in Eunice for almost 60 years, where she was a member of First Baptist Church, before moving to Clovis 2 1/2 years ago.
Two sons, Max Irwin of Houston and Richard Irwin of Greensboro, N.C., also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Vandevender, of Muleshoe, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Alvin Taylor Sr.
Graveside services for Alvin "Dow" Taylor, Sr., 67, of Hobbs, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation at Griffin Funeral Home is from 2-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Taylor died on Saturday, Jan. 6, in Hobbs.
He was born May 16, 1933, in Arkansas and married Juanita Shelton Taylor on July 15, 1958, in Seminole.
Mr. Taylor moved to Hobbs in 1957 and was the owner of Dow's Carpet for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; six sons, Alvin Wesley Taylor Jr., Mike Taylor, Jamie Taylor, Danny Taylor, Nathan Taylor and John Taylor, all of Hobbs; eight brothers; four sisters; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents.

Thomas J. Lane Sr.
A memorial service for Thomas Jack Lane Sr., 69, of Hobbs, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tracy Roby officiating.
Cremation will take place at a later date.
Mr. Lane died on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Lea Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Monroe, Okla., and grew up in Shafter, Calif. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Lane married Marie Bowey on April 13, 1952, in Denver, Colo.
After moving to Hobbs, he worked for Ince Oil Co. and the city of Hobbs Street Department. He retired from the Lea County Road Department.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, of the home; one son, T.J. Lane of Hobbs; one daughter, Patty Landrum of Sparks, Okla.; two brothers, Eddie Lane of Shafter, Calif., and Billy Wayne Lane of Mulberry, Ark.; one sister, Elnora Inman of Anchorage; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vivian Sexton.

Lahoma Wylie
Funeral services for Lahoma Wylie of Hobbs will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
The Rev. Dean Mathis and Chaplain Leon Green will officiate.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m. and Monday until 11:30 a.m. The family will greet friends Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
Mrs. Lahoma, 85, died Thursday, January 4, at her home in Hobbs. She was born April 17, 1915 in Magnum, Okla.
She moved to Hobbs in 1944 and worked as a nurse until her retirement.
She was an original member of the kitchen band, and was a member of the Rebekka, VFW and the Moose Lodge. She was an avid seamstress and crocheted, as well.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Oddie Trotter and H.C. Wylie; a son, Kenneth Trotter, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Carroll Trotter of Colorado City, Texas and Charles Trotter of Hobbs; two daughters, Starlie Shaw of Seminole and Karren Teague of Hobbs; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and eight great-great children.

Don Rogers
Funeral services for Don Rogers of Ruidoso will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Rogers, 65, died Friday, January 5, in Hobbs. He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Loving.
Mr. Rogers moved to Hobbs in 1947 and graduated from Hobbs High School in 1953. He owned Don Rogers Auto Sales in the 1960s and worked in the domestic and international oilfields from 1970 to 1980.
