Robert D. Long
WASILLA, Alaska - A private service for Robert "Bubba" Don Long was held Tuesday, July 3, at his home in Wasilla.
Mr. Long, 58, died July 1 in Wasilla. He was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Hartshorne, Okla.
He lived in Hobbs from the 1970s until 1994. He was employed at Globe Construction before retiring in 1991 due to illness.
Mr. Long served in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lorene Long, and three brothers, Jimmy, Richard and Billy Long.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ruth of Wasilla; a son, Dayton Long of Wasilla; a daughter, Sandy Nickson, of Wasilla; a brother, Gary Long of Lovington; three sisters, Debra Smith of Lovington, and Marilyn Colborn and Nedria Langford of Hobbs; and two grandsons.
Lois M. Feagin
Services for Lois M. "Granny" Feagin of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Immanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Jack Lott will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
She will lie in state from 1-8 p.m. today and from 8-11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ms. Feagin, 93, died Wednesday, July 18, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 15, 1908, in Blueridge, Texas.
Ms. Feagin moved to Hobbs in 1949. She worked at Furr's Supermarket for five years and at White's Auto Store for more than 25 years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jerry L. Prather of Hobbs; one son, Joshua Koprovich of Hobbs; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Vickie Sue Proctor, in 1996; five great-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.
Juanita Fontenot
Services for Juanita Louviere Fontenot of Hobbs, formerly of Lake Charles, La., will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles. Marcus Johnson will officiate. Local arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Lake Charles.
Mrs. Fontenot, 77, died Wednesday, July 18, at Hobbs Healthcare Center. She was born April 24, 1924, in Thornwell, La.
Mrs. Fontenot had lived in Lake Charles since 1946, moving to Hobbs six months ago. She attended Salutatorian High School in Bell City, La., graduating in 1941. She attended nursing school at McNeese Junior College.
During World War II, she worked in logistics capacity in the Army Air Corps. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Devine of Lufkin, Texas; two daughters, Connie Dare of Hobbs and Eileen Wilbanks of Spring, Texas; one brother, Ernest P. Louviere of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Louise Spalding of Moss Bluff, La., and Eula Mae Lampardy of Youngstown, Ohio; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth Steadham
Services for Elizabeth Steadham of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Helena Catholic Church. The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate. Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Mrs. Steadham, 75, died Thursday, July 19, at her home. She was born March 7, 1926, in Bristol, R.I. She married Bill Steadham on Nov. 26, 1953, in Bristol.
Mrs. Steadham was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. She moved to Hobbs from Jal 16 years ago. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge.
She is survived by her husband of the home; one son, Allen Steadham of Odessa; six brothers; six sisters; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Dale Steadham, in 1975; and two brothers, Frank Cordeiro and Tony Cordeiro.
Thomas McBeth
Graveside services for Thomas McBeth of Lovington will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 21, at the Lovington Cemetery. The VFW Honor Guard and American Legion will perform graveside rites.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bethany Funeral Home.
Mr. McBeth died Wednesday, July 18, at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Texas to T.L. and Myrty McBeth. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. McBeth was a parts manager in the oilfield.
Survivors include two daughters, Christy Stroop of Vian, Okla., and Shelly Mahan of Lovington; a stepson, John Garin of Dallas; a sister, Renae McBeth of Crestview, Fla.; two brothers, Donnie McBeth of Lovington and Billy McBeth of Hobbs; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy McBeth.
Cindy Lou Little
A memorial service for Cindy Lou Little of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Carol Tuck, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Services are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
A reception will be held following the service at the Hobbs Masonic Lodge No. 63, 2400 N. Jefferson.
Ms. Little, 46, was born May 29, 1955, in Hobbs. She died Tuesday, July 17, in Lubbock.
She lived in Hobbs until 1961, before moving to attend Santa Ana Junior College in Santa Ana, Calif. She also attended Chapman College.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Orange, Calif.
Ms. Little moved back to Hobbs in 2000, where she was manager of Scrapaholics.
Ms. Little is survived by her father, Dan Little of Hobbs; her stepmother, Norma Little of Hobbs; a sister, Sharon Mitchell of Houston; a brother, Daniel Little II of Wylie, Texas; four nieces; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Little.

Elizabeth Steadham
Funeral services for Elizabeth Steadham, 75, of Hobbs are pending at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Steadham died Thursday, July 19, at her home.
She was born on March 7, 1926, in Bristol, R.I.
Immediate survivors include her husband, Bill Steadham of the home and one son, Allen Steadham of Odessa.
Mildred Victorine Cole
LOVINGTON - Services for Mildred Victorine Cole of Lovington will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Leon Green and the Rev. K.M. McCarthick officiating. Graveside services will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia at 4:30 p.m.
She died Wednesday, July 18, at her home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cole moved to Lovington in 1935. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include Weezie Putman of Lovington; Iris Harris of Yukon, Okla.; Don Putman Jr.; Viki Vela; Clint Putman; Tori Vela; Matt Vela; Crystal Putman; Don Putman III; and Kara Putman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Clinton Cole; her daughter, Nettie Jean Cole; her parents; three brothers; one sister; and Noel Deal Harris.
Albert C. Sanchez Jr.
LOVINGTON - Services for Albert Cortez Sanchez Jr. will be held at 7 p.m. today at Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.
A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at the church.
Mr. Sanchez, 17, died Tuesday, July 17, at his home. He was born June 29, 1984, in Hobbs.
Mr. Sanchez was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He worked with his dad.
He is survived by his parents, Corina and Albert Cortez Sanchez Sr. of Lovington; one brother, Nathan Sanchez; and one sister, Jennie Sanchez, both of Lovington; his grandparents, Leon and Guadalupe Sanchez of Lovington and Edward and Adelfa Doporto of Lovington; two great-grandmothers, Esparanza Doporto and Esparanza Basques, both of Lovington; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Richard Power
LOVINGTON - Graveside services for Richard "Sonny" Power of Lovington will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Lovington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Mr. Power, 78, died Sunday, July 15, at his home. He was born June 23, 1923, in Lovington. He married Mildred Richards on Sept. 6, 1942, in Lovington.
Mr. Power was of the Methodist faith and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Robin Byrd of Lovington and Michelle Perez of Kermit; one sister, Jean Benson of Bellevue, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Richards Power; one sister, Mary Sue Shortes; and one grandson.
Thomas McBeth
