Robert W. Lindsey

Services for Robert W. "Bob" Lindsey of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jake Armstrong will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Mem-orial Park under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lindsey, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 16, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1922 in Humboldt, Kan.

He married Barbara Joan Woods.

He was a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Lana Martin, of Hobbs; two brothers, Chuck Lindsey of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Harold Lindsey of Humboldt; two sisters, Mary Edith Littlepage of Iowa and Frances Tweedy of Ida, Kan.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Linda Olsen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's of S.E. New Mexico, 1717 W. 2nd Street, Suite 173, Roswell, N.M. 88201.

Ronald Bruce Tate

Services for Ronald Bruce Tate of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. LaVoid Ford will officiate.

Memorial services will be conducted by the Hobbs Masonic Lodge.

Burial will follow at 3 p.m. (CST) at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas, under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Tate, 58, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Intercoastal City, La. He was born on July 4, 1942, in Edna, Texas.

He married Erie Bolden on Dec. 6, 1963, in Franklin, La.

Mr. Tate was a member of the Pecos Masonic Lodge. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Ron Tate of Lafayette, La.; his stepfather, Tommy Cosper of Horatio, Ark.; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lois Tate.

Alejo E. Valenzuela
Funeral Mass for Alejo E. Valenzuela of Artesia, father of Soki Kesner of Hobbs, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia.
The Rev. Vincent Petersen will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Mr. Valenzuela, 85, died Friday, Nov. 17, in Andrews. He was born July 17, 1915, in Pecos, Texas. He married Margarita Morales in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She preceded him in death.
He worked as a farmer. He moved to Artesia from Pecos 45 years ago.
Survivors include four sons, Alejo E. Valenzuela Jr., Enrique Valenzuela, Edmundo Valenzuela and Oscar Valenzuela, all of Artesia; two more daughters, Maria C. Marquez of Andrews and Toni Berryhill of Midland; one sister, Alejandra Reyes of Odessa; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Lucas Valenzuela; and two sisters, Teodora Dominguez and Paulina Valenzuela, also preceded him in death.

Luis E. Sanchez
Mass of Christian Burial for Luis Enrique Sanchez of Lovington will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lovington Cemetery under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday night at 514 S. Second St.
The infant died Thursday, Nov. 16. He was born Nov. 17, 1999, in Bakersfield, Calif..
Survivors include his father, Palemon Sanchez of Sta Catherine GTO, Mexico; his mother, Alejandra Arvizu of the home; a sister, Karina Sanchez of the home; maternal grandmother, Theodora Arvizu of Sta Catherine GTO; paternal grandparents, Palemon and Margarita Sanchez, both of Sta Catherine GTO; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Alice M. Smith
EUNICE - Services for Alice Mildred Smith of Eunice will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Free Holiness Church in Eunice.
The Rev. Gerald Anderson will officiate. Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Rose Bank Cemetery in Mulberry, Kan., under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Brenner Funeral Home in Pittsburg, Kan.
Mrs. Smith, 84, died Thursday, Nov., 16, in Eunice. She was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Hugoton, Kan. She married Charles Basil Smith on Aug. 31, 1940. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Free Holiness Church in Eunice. She worked for Home Health Care, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Smith moved to Eunice from Pittsburg in 1998.
Survivors include four sons, Bacil Smith of Skiatook, Okla., William Smith and Raymond Smith, both of Eunice, and Delbert Smith of Marion, Ohio; four daughters, Marilyn Cooley of Glenwood, Ark., Beverly Phillips and Bonnie Phillips, both of Pittsburg, and Janella Deer of Nevada, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Killingsworth of Liberal, Kan., and Ruby Dennis of Grove, Okla.; two brothers, Cecil Allen of Overland Park, Kan., and Bill Allen of Denver; 29 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Her parents; a daughter, Rowena Smith; and a brother, Kenneth Allen, also preceded her in death.

Randal M. Woody
LOVINGTON -- Services for former Lovington resident Randal Murray Woody of Midland will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Odell Farr will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lovington Cemetery.
Mr. Woody, 58, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, at his home. He was born July 2, 1942, in Clovis.
He graduated from Lovington High School in 1960 and from Eastern New Mexico University in 1965, with a degree in elementary education.
He was baptized in Lovington at Third and Central Church of Christ. He worked for Dawson Geo Physical from 1969 to the present.
Survivors include his parents, Ben Blanche of Lovington two brothers, Chauncy Woody and Kelvin Woody, all of Lovington; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces; and three great-nephews.

Ronald "Bruce" Tate
Services are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home for Ronald "Bruce" Tate of Hobbs.
Mr. Tate, 58, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Intercoastal City, La. He was born July 4, 1942, in Edna, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Erie Tate of Hobbs; and a son, Ron Tate, also of Hobbs.

Betty L. Inman
TATUM -- Services for Betty Lou Inman of Tatum will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Assembly of God in Tatum.
Clarence Gutierrez and the Rev. Leon Green will officiate. Cremation will take place under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
Mrs. Inman, 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Lubbock. She was born June 29, 1936, in Florence, Texas. She married William James Inman on July 5, 1982, in Las Cruces.
She moved to Tatum in November 1977. She was a past president of the Tatum Lions Club and a member of First Assembly of God in Tatum.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three daughters, Jayme Hardin of Lovington, Jean Allen of Tatum and Shannon Sonnier of Denham Springs, La.; a son, Joe Rhoades of Kirtland,; two brothers, James "Bub" Maines and Joe Maines, both of Florence; a sister, Mary Moore of Huntsville, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous cousins.
Her parents, Joe and Tjeda Maines, preceded her in death.

Mary V. Holguin
Mass of Christian Burial for Mary V. Holguin of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia. The Rev. Vince Peterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with deacon Pablo Merjil conducting the service.
Mrs. Holguin, 57, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Candelaria, Texas.
She had lived in Hobbs for the past 30 years, working as a caretaker in people's homes.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Armendariz of Artesia; a daughter, Roseann Arcidez of Midland; her mother, Refugia Villanueva of Artesia; two brothers, Tony Villanueva of Phoenix, and Manuel Villanueva of Pecos, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her father, Manuel Villanueva; and a brother, Juan Villanueva, preceded her in death.

Carl W. Fulkerson

Services for Carl W. Fulkerson of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Chapel of Home Funeral Home chapel.

The Rev. Dean Mathis will officiate.

Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Fulkerson, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Big Spring. He was born on July 20, 1929, in Earlsboro, Okla.

He married Jo Pechar on May 10, 1951, in Salem, Ill.

Mr. Fulkerson served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1952, stationed in Germany. In 1959, the family moved to Hobbs where he worked in the oilfield.

In 1969, they returned to Illinois where he worked as a factory foreman. They moved back to Hobbs in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Jim Fulkerson of Hobbs, Phillip Fulkerson of Breese, Ill., Bill Fulkerson of Albuquerque and Scott Fulkerson of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Cindy Yearout of Hobbs; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Carl David Fulkerson on Nov. 12, 1983; five brothers; and one sister.

Hilde Tobkin

LOVINGTON -- Funeral Mass for Hilde Tobkin of Lovington will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton, S.D.

The rosary and wake will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.

Burial will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tobkin, 85, died Monday, Nov. 13, in Lovington. She was born Sept. 7, 1915, in St. Michael, Minn. She married Alfred Tobkin on Sept. 16, 1940. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include four sons, John Tobkin, Joe Tobkin and Dan Tobkin, all of Lovington, and Doug Tobkin of West Fargo, N.D.; a brother, Leo Zahler of Hutchinson, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lovington Good Samaritan Center.

Betty Inman

TATUM - Services are pending with Bethany Funeral Home for Betty Inman of Tatum.

Mrs. Inman, 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Lubbock.

Patricia 'Patsy' Poucket
Funeral Mass for Patricia "Patsy" Poucket of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at St. Helena Catholic Church.
The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Poucket, 66, died Friday, Nov. 10, in Wildwood, Mo. She married Carl Poucket on Dec. 4, 1954, in Hobbs. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Altar Society. She held membership in the Grandmothers Club as well.
Survivors include four children, Jeff Poucket of St. Louis, Mo., Randy Poucket and Jennifer Dooley, both of Dallas, and Neil Poucket of Hobbs; three brothers, Herschell Hightower of Hobbs, Charles Hightower of Roswell and Jerry Hightower of Copperas Cove, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Lundgreen of Stanford, Texas, and Jackie Stanfield of Hobbs; and three grandsons.
Her parents, Loyd and Martha Basland Hightower, preceded her in death.

Melvin 'Bud' Hampton
Services for Melvin "Bud" Hampton of Hobbs will be held at 3 p.m. today at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
The Rev. Dean Mathis will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mr. Hampton, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at his home. He was born April 8, 1920, in Comanche, Texas. He married Claudia Bailey on Aug. 21, 1938, in Potosi, Texas.
He served overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked with El Paso Natural Gas Co. as a plant superintendent until his retirement in 1977. Following his retirement, he moved to Ruidoso. He later moved to El Paso then back to Hobbs in 1998.
Mr. Hampton served on the Hobbs School Board during the 1950s and '60s. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon from Jan. 8, 1957, to March 24, 1996. At the time of his death, he was being honored as deacon emeritus.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Claudia Hampton; a son, Melvin M. Hampton of Odessa; two daughters, Darlene Donalson of San Angelo, and Peggy Hammer of Hobbs; two brothers, Enos Hampton of Potosi and J.D. Hampton of Tulare, Calif.; three sisters, Margaret Dorner of Richardson, Texas, Dovie Franklin of Proctor, Texas, and Betty Jo Evans of Stephensville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Carl W. Fulkerson
Services are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home for Carl W. Fulkerson of Hobbs.
