Alton 'Dink' Halkins
TATUM - Graveside services and burial for Alton "Dink" Halkins of Tatum will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Tatum Cemetery.
The Rev. Wayne Brazil will officiate.
Mr. Halkins, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 11, in Hobbs. He was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Mobeetie, Texas.
He was a longtime Tatum resident.
Survivors include a brother, Doug Halkins of Tatum; and three sisters, Alene Halford of Tatum, Mayme Halkins of Lovington and Jean Dutton of Los Angeles.
Santos T. Gonzales
LOVINGTON - Services for Santos Tellez Gonzales of Denver City, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Denver City.
Burial followed in Denver City Cemetery under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gonzales, 86, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at her home. She was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Yorktown, Texas.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include two sons, Felipe T. Garza of Denver City and Guadalupe Garza of Georgetown, Texas; two daughters, Stella Costello of Denver City and Ermina Rodrigues of Roswell; and several nieces and nephews.
Carrie Leta Rainwater
DRUMRIGHT, Okla. - Funeral services for Drumright native and former Hobbs resident Carrie Leta Rainwater will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at the Drumright First Baptist Church.
The Rev. Ray Moffeit will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Stroud City Cemetery at Stroud, Okla., under the direction of Michael's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rainwater, 77, died on Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Drumright Nursing Home. She was born on Sept. 18, 1923, in Drumright. She attended Drumright Public School.
She married Delbert Rainwater on Sept. 20, 1945, in Independence, Kansas. They lived in Stroud for six years before moving to Hobbs.
She worked in numerous cafes and the Hobbs Schools as a cook. They returned to Drumright in 1980. She was a member of Drumright First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the family home; one son, Russell Rainwater of Cushing; two sisters, Wilma Marshall and Rita Campbell, both of Drumright; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Marie Clark; three brothers, L.F. "Buddy" Matts, James Matts and Nolan Matts; and one sister, Lavern McGeath.
William H. Clark
Memorial services for William H. "Bill" Clark of Hobbs will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at First Presbyterian Church.
His son, the Rev. Don Clark, and the Rev. James A. Lacy will officiate.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mr. Clark, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Merrill Gardens. He was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Fort Davis, Texas.
He married Charlot Furman on June 4, 1953, in Boulder, Colo.
Mr. Clark graduated from Fort Davis High School in 1940. He attended Baylor and Park colleges. He received a Bachelor of Science from Sul Ross College in Alpine.
Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radioman from 1943 to 1946. After the war, he returned to college in Boulder, Colo.. where he received a Masters Degree in music education in 1953. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity and sang in the Colorado University Modern Choir under George Lynn and Walter Imig.
He moved to Hobbs in 1955 to teach vocal music at Houston Junior High School. Later, he became coordinator of music for all nine elementary schools until he retired in May 1987.
Mr. Clark played violin in the Hobbs Community Orchestra and was treasurer of the Hobbs Community Concert Association.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hobbs, serving as an elder and a deacon, and as a member of the choir for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Don Clark of St. James, Minn. and Paul W. Clark of Hobbs; two daughters, Amy Clark White of Littlefield, Texas and Ann Clark Driver of Midland; one sister, Dorothy Newton of Tulsa, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hunter and Annie Lou Clark and one sister, Ruth Hall.

Dorothy L. Copeland
Graveside services for Dorothy L. Copeland of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The Rev. L.B. Harris will officiate.
Burial will follow under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Monday and from 8-9 a.m. on Tuesday.
Mrs. Copeland died Friday, Nov. 10, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was 76.
She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Morris, Okla. She married Harold W. Copeland on Nov. 8, 1963, in Carlsbad.
She worked as a checker for Food Way and Tootie's Super Market. She enjoyed gardening, plants and sewing.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the family home; one son, Robert McSpadden of Houston; one daughter, Dian Swanson of Pocatello, Idaho; two sisters, June Carter of Springdale, Ark., and Mary Lou Laine of Rogers, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Wyrick; a grandson, Darrell Wayne McSpadden; one brother; and two sisters.
Carl Joe Standefer
EUNICE - Funeral services for former Eunice resident, Carl Joe Standefer of La Puebla, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at First Baptist Church.
The Rev. Kevin Warner will officiate.
Burial will follow in Brunson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Standefer, 73, died Monday, Nov. 6, in La Puebla. He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Pushmataha County, Okla. He was interdenominational.
He married Audrey June Looman on Dec. 11, 1979, in Deming.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Oil Center from Oklahoma in 1937. In 1945, he moved to Eunice, where he lived until 1971. While in Eunice, he was a member of the Eunice Volunteer Fire Department.
During the years of his involvement and leadership, the Eunice Fire Department advanced to high levels of rating and achievement in the state. He lived in Santa Fe from 1971 until 1979, when he moved to La Puebla.
He was the New Mexico State Fire Marshal for 21 years, retiring in 1992. He was also instrumental in developing and starting the Firefighter Academy in Socorro, which trains firefighters from all over New Mexico.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 45 in Eunice, the Elks Lodge in Santa Fe and a lifetime member of the New Mexico State Fire Fighters Association.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his first wife, Carol Wooten Standefer of Albuquerque; two sons, Barry Lee Standefer of Henderson, Nev. and John Carl Standefer of Albuquerque; one brother, Bill Lee Standefer of Palm Desert, Calif.; one sister, Betty Ann Dodd of Odessa; three uncles; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Patricia Poucket
Services are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home for Patricia "Patsy" Poucket of Hobbs.
Mrs. Poucket, 66, died Friday, Nov. 10, in Wildwood, Mo. She was born March 30, 1934, in Hobbs.
Survivors include three sons, Neil Poucket of Hobbs, Jeff Poucket of St. Louis, Mo., and Randy Poucket of Dallas; and one daughter, Jennifer Dooley of Dallas.
Melvin Hampton
Services are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home for Melvin Hampton of Hobbs.
Mr. Hampton, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at his home. He was born April 8, 1920.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia, of the home; one son, Melvin M. Hampton, of Odessa; and two daughters, Peggy Hammer of Hobbs and Darlene Donalson of San Angelo.
Edith 'Edie' Ingrahm
Services for Edith "Edie" Ingrahm of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel.
The Rev. Carol Tuck will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ingrahm, 50, died Tuesday. Nov. 7, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1950, in Evansville, Ind. She married David Ingrahm on March 17, 1973, in Phoenix, Ariz.
She had been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1997. She was a Hobbs school volunteer, serving from 1993 to 1995.
Mrs. Ingrahm also served as an auxiliary member at Hobbs Good Samaritan Village from 1996 to 1998.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, David Ingrahm Jr. and Donald Ingrahm, both of Hobbs; three brothers and two sisters.
Her parents, Pauline and Joseph Stults; and a daughter, Dinah Cherrer Ingrahm.
William W. Markham
LOVINGTON - Graveside services for William Wesley Markham of Lovington will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Lovington Cemetery under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
The Rev. K.M. McCarthick will officiate.
Mr. Markham, 36, died Tuesday, Nov. 7. He was born Dec. 21, 1963, in Hobbs.
He had lived in Lovington for the past 15 years. He loved his dogs and to visit with his friends.
Mr. Markham was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Michael Markham of Austin; a sister, Judy Gail Brandon of Kennedy, Texas; two nephews; two aunts; and seven cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Orvil and Alice Markham; and a brother, Tommy Markham.
James M. Phillips Jr.
Memorial services for James Michael Phillips Jr. of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
The Rev. Dean Mathis will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park at a later date.
Mr. Phillips, 30, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1970, in Fort Dix, N.J. He married Jennifer Jameson on Oct. 7, 1994, in Hobbs.
He graduated from Hobbs High School and was attending New Mexico Junior College.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two brothers, Kyle Phillips of Seattle, Wash., and Coby Phillips of Hobbs; his father, James Phillips Sr. of Hobbs; his mother, Virginia Graham of Farwell, Texas; maternal grandparents, Willie and Willene Rogers of Hobbs; and paternal grandparents, James K. Phillips of Laurel, Miss.
His paternal grandmother, Willie M. Phillips, preceded him in death.
Carl J. Standefer
EUNICE - Services are pending with Calvary Funeral Home for Carl Joe Standefer of Espanola.
Mr. Standefer, 73, died Monday, Nov. 6, in El Pueblo. He was born Feb. 10, 1927.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Standefer, of the home; two sons, Barry Standefer of Henderson, Nev., and John Standefer of Albuquerque; a brother, Bill Standefer of Palm Desert, Calif.; and a sister, Betty Dodd of Odessa.
William Markham

Mr. Markham, 36, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in Lovington.

Peggy L. Murphy
Services for Peggy Lou Murphy of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bishop Leroy Wilcox will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Murphy, 74, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at her home. She was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Roswell. She married H.L. (Pete) Murphy on Feb. 23, 1946, in Fort Sumner. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1984.
She taught mathematics in the Hobbs junior high school system for 23 years. She retired in 1980. She had taught previously in Grants.
Mrs. Murphy was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Eta Chapter, a professional organization for women teachers.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include a son, Mark Murphy of Hobbs; a daughter, Jo M. Headden of Dallas; a brother, Bill Wright of Truth or Consequences; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Edith 'Edie' Ingrahm

Mrs. Ingrahm, 50, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1950, in Evansville, Ind.

Gilberto Camunez
EUNICE - Funeral services for Gilberto Camunez of Jal will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Jal Cemetery. The Rev. Roderick Garvey of St. Cecilia will officiate. Services are under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today at St. Cecilia. Rosary will be held from 7-9 p.m. today at St. Cecilia.
Mr. Camunez, 78, died Wednesday, March 28, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born March 14, 1923, in Guerro, Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Eulojia Ramirez on Jan. 16, 1960, in Coymae, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Mr. Camunez was a longtime resident of Jal who worked in the oilfield and also as a ranch hand. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Mr. Camunez is survived by his wife of the home; four sons, Homero Camunez, Gilbert Camunez and Oscar Camunez, all of Jal, and Mario Camunez of Kermit, Texas; five daughters, Cecilia Olivas and Roxana Camunez, both of El Paso, Modesta Fuentes of Jal, Soraida de la Cruz of Hobbs and Grizelda Gonzales of Eunice; two brothers, Fernando Camunez and Emilio Camunez, both of Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico; and a stepbrother, Juan Guerrero of Las Cruces.
Mr. Camunez was preceded in death by his parents.
