Alfred Castellanos
Services for Alfred Castellanos of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at St. Helena Catholic Church. The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Calvary Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Castellanos, 64, died Sunday, May 6, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 2, 1936, in Montcoal, W.Va. He married Teresa Martinez on Aug. 24, 1977, in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Mr. Castellanos moved to Hobbs in 1989 from Bell, Calif. He worked for 10 years as a laborer for an aircraft manufacturer, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church.
Mr. Castellanos is survived by his wife of Hobbs; one son, Fred Castellanos of Hobbs; two daughters, Yesenia Canava and Nancy Castellanos, both of Hobbs; one brother, Roy Castellanos of Norwalk, Calif.; two sisters, Aracelia of Los Angeles and Josephina Magallon of Pico Rivera, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Mr. Castellanos was preceded in death by his parents.
Clare J. Wright
Memorial services for Clare J. Wright of Hobbs will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1600 E. Bender.
Mr. Wright, 86, died Sunday, May 6, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1914, in Nebraska.
Mr. Wright served as an ordained minister for the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 63 years and had served as an elder in the Hobbs congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for the last three years.
He graduated from the first class of Gilead Missionaries Training School in 1942 in Lansing, N.Y., whereupon he received assignments that included being a traveling minister for the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
Mr. Wright settled in Amarillo with his wife and family for 36 years before moving to Hobbs three years ago.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Frances Wright of Hobbs; one daughter, Ruth Elkins of Hobbs; one son, Lyle Wright of Sulfur, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Ottis Warden
Services for Ottis Warden of Hobbs are pending with Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Warden, 63, died Tuesday, May 8, in Lubbock. He was born July 11, 1937.
Mr. Warden is survived by his wife of the home, Mavis Warden.
Lottie M. McCallister
AURORA, Mo. - Graveside services for Lottie M. McCallister of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. The Rev. David Ray Hooten, a grandson, will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCallister, 96, died Monday, May 7, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 20, 1904, in Barry County, Mo. She married Jacques Delbert McCallister on March 1, 1923, in Mount Vernon, Mo.
Mrs. McCallister moved to Hobbs in the spring of 1984 from Aurora. She was a Baptist and a housewife.
Survivors include three sons, John McCallister of Cassville, Mo., Thomas McCallister of Shell-Knob, Mo., and Don L. McCallister of Monett, Mo.; three daughters, Norma J. Hooten of Hobbs, Katie Brown of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Betty Perdieu of Olatha, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McCallister was preceded in death by a son, Harry McCallister; three brothers; and two sisters.
Jose M. Dominguez
Services for Jose M. Dominguez of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Prairie Haven Chapel. The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Dominguez, 81, died Sunday, May 6, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Fort Stockton, Texas.
He attended St. Helena Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dominguez is survived by four brothers, Marcelo Lopez, Geronimo Lopez and Raymond Lopez, all of Hobbs, and Simon M. Lopez of Gilroy, Calif.; and one sister, Sarah Huckabay of Hobbs.
Mr. Dominguez was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Dominguez and Valenti Lopez.
Tye Cobb
Services for Tye Cobb of Big Spring, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kevin Parker, the Rev. Richard Smith and the Rev. Ferral Defour will officiate.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. today and from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Mr. Cobb, 85, died Sunday, May 6, at Comanche Trail Nursing Center in Big Spring. He was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Enterprise, Miss. He married Mildred Eloise Savely on Feb. 19, 1938, in Martintown, Miss.
Mr. Cobb moved to Hobbs in 1953. He retired from the City of Hobbs in 1973. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Big Spring; one son, Danny Zane Cobb of Hobbs; two daughters, Lynda Faye Sliger of Big Spring and Ginger Lou Laney of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Seth H. Saunders
Services for Seth H. Saunders of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Prairie Haven Chapel. The Rev. John Bryant of the American Veterans Honor Guard will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Mr. Saunders, 76, died Saturday, May 5, at his home. He was born March 2, 1925, in Weeksville, N.C. He married Ellen Lenz Saunders in 1954 in Glendive, Mont.
Mr. Saunders served as a Veteran of Foreign Wars commander from 1993-94 and an American Veterans Honor Guard commander from 1990-97. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Seth H. Saunders Jr. of Le Sueur, Minn., and Greg S. Saunders of Edgewood; four daughters, Karen V. Rassmussen of Corvallis, Mont., Margo M. Patterson of Rio Rancho, Kelly Saunders of Santa Fe and Tracy Heaney of Hobbs; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Saunders was preceded in death by his parents, Beecher Emerson and Minnie Saunders; and four brothers.

Marquita Bradshaw
Services for Marquita "Kita" Bradshaw of Hobbs will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 7, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
The Rev. Dean Mathis will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home Inc.
Mrs. Bradshaw, 55, died Thursday, May 3, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla. She married Tommy Bradshaw on Aug. 31, 1964, in Hobbs.
She moved to Hobbs in the early 1950s. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church and a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi, where she was voted "Woman of the Year" recently.
Mrs. Bradshaw graduated from Hobbs High School in 1964. She was a foster parent to many children in Hobbs over the years.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother, Virginia Meekins of Hobbs; a son, Don Otis Bradshaw of Ocean Side, Calif.; seven daughters, Mary Ann Bradshaw of Lubbock, Tammy Bradshaw of Lovington, Charlet, Shawna, Naomi, Stephanie and Anisha Bradshaw, all of the home; two brothers, David Meekins of Lubbock and John Meekins of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, James Bradshaw and her father, J.O. Meekins, preceded her in death.

Laverne Thomason
Services for Laverne Thomason of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Belvue Baptist Church.
The Rev. Bruce Kirby will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
She will lie in state from 2-8 p.m. today, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m.-noon on Tuesday. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday.
Mrs. Thomas, 68, died Friday, May 4, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Hillsboro, Texas. She married Bobby T. Thomason on July 22, 1978, in Carlsbad.
She had lived in Hobbs for 50 years. She was a member of Belvue Baptist Church for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Karen McBride of Hobbs; a brother, Jim Curbo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Kathey Mathews of Hobbs; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
A son, Randy Walker, preceded her in death in 1987.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Thurston Phelps Sr.
ANDREWS - Services for Thurston Harvey "Teen" Phelps Sr. of Andrews will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 7, in the Lakeview Christian Church.
The Rev. Raymond E. Holman Jr., pastor of Lakeview and Thom Phelps of Abilene, will officiate. Burial will follow in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
He died Friday, May 4, in the Hospice House in Odessa. He was born July 15, 1916, in Sapulpa, Okla. He married Juanita Flowers on March 14, 1941, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Mr. Phelps worked in the oilfields 25 years as a pumper for Dan Oil Co. He retired in 1979. He was a member of Lakeview Christian Church and VFW Post No. 8917.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Sonny Phelps of Missouri City, Texas, and Eddie Phelps of Portland, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Diana G. Thacker; two brothers, Harold Phelps and Herman Phelps, preceded him in death.
The Rev. Eugene McClain
MIDLAND - Services for The Rev. Eugene McClain will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 7, at Midway Assembly of God in Roswell.
The Rev. R. Kenneth George, district superintendent of the New Mexico District of the Assemblies of God churches, will officiate. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery in Roswell under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
The Rev. McClain, 81, died Wednesday, May 2, in Midland. He was born April 15, 1920, in Howe, Okla. He married Minnie Estelle Barnes on April 13, 1941, in Roswell.
He served in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy during World War II. After returning from the war, he entered the ministry.
The Rev. McClain was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He pastored for 54 years in Texas, New Mexico, Utah and Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Gary Eugene of Albuquerque and Marcus Wayne, both of Santa Fe, and William Earl of Midland; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents, William A. and Lillie Mae McClain; two sisters, Mary Lou Taylor and Lillian Helmstettler; and three brothers, George, Aaron and Ab McClain, preceded him in death.
Viewing will be held between noon-2 p.m. on Monday at Midway Assembly of God.

Mrs. Bradshaw, 55, died Thursday, May 3, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. She was born Nov. 23, 1945.
Mrs. Bradshaw is survived by her husband, Tommy Bradshaw of Hobbs; and her mother, Virginia Meekins of Hobbs.
