Sapharia L. Pulliam
MIDLAND - Graveside services were held May 3 for Sapharia Lee Pulliam of Midland.
The infant died Saturday, April 28, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her parents, Teresa Gore and Justin Pulliam of Midland; her grandparents, Tammy Gore of Midland, Ronnie Gore of Silsbee, Texas, and Ronald and Cyndi Pulliam of Gardendale, Texas, and formerly of Hobbs; and her aunt, Susan Maxwell of Hobbs.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, K.R. "Dunk" Pulliam, and Phil and Wanda Haman, all formerly of Hobbs.
Wilburn W. Hamilton
Services for Wilburn Wayne Hamilton of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 5, at Taylor Street Church of Christ. Eli Borden will officiate. Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Hamilton, 31, died Wednesday, May 2, in Hobbs. He was born March 26, 1970, in Hobbs. He married Christina Shelton on July 14, 1993, in Hobbs.
Mr. Hamilton resided in Hobbs his entire life. He was employed by Phillips Pipeline as a truck driver for the last seven years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife; one son, Christopher Hamilton of Hobbs; one daughter, Leann Hamilton of Hobbs; his parents, Jerry and Milly Hamilton of Hobbs; two brothers, Larry Lee Hamilton of Midland and Bradley Keith Hamilton of Hobbs; two sisters, Dody Kaye Hamilton of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jessilynn Sheree Sheppard of Hobbs; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilburn Wayne and Ada Katherine Hamilton; and Elmer Lawrence and Dorothy Louise Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton, 31, died Wednesday, May 2, in Hobbs. He was born March 26, 1970.

Dorothy E. Seymore
ELGIN, Tenn. - Services for Dorothy Elain Seymore of Elgin will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at New Hope Baptist Church in Hobbs. The Rev. Mike Adams will officiate.
Cremation has already taken place.
Mrs. Seymore, 52, died Tuesday, April 24, in Elgin. She was born Dec. 23, 1948, as one of the first set of triplets born in Hobbs.
Mrs. Seymore is survived by her mother, Ruby Mae Hastings of Hobbs; two sons, James Anthony Seymore and Stanley Agustus Seymore; one daughter, Jennifer Ann Engerran; and one grandson, Jake Engerran, all of Elgin; three brothers, Loren Stanley Hastings of Hobbs, Daniel Hastings of St. Louis and Tony Hastings of North Bend, Wash.; three sisters, Mary Ellen Wells of Houston, Juanita Ann Leslie of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Doris Hastings of Onida, Tenn.
Mrs. Seymore was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Seymore; and her father, Stanley Hastings of Hobbs.
Rayworth E. Kimbell
LOVINGTON - Services for Rayworth "Ray" E. Kimbell of Lovington will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Third and Central Church of Christ. Frank and Marlin Poyner will officiate. Services are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery with the Lovington Veteran Honor Guard performing the last rites ceremony.
Mr. Kimbell, 75, died Wednesday, May 2, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1925, to Boyd and Mable Kimbell in Dimmitt, Texas.
Mr. Kimbell served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater on the USS Enterprise as a seaman 1st class in the U.S. Navy. He was transferred to Lovington in 1954, where he worked in the oilfield.
Mr. Kimbell married Colleen Bennett on June 20, 1960, in Lovington at Third and Central Church of Christ. He worked for Fort and Wright Propane for many years and P&D Petroleum, where he worked as a local route salesman before retiring. He was a devoted father and husband and was a member of Third and Central Church of Christ.
Mr. Kimbell is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Bennett Ray Kimbell of Andrews; one brother, Rex Kimbell of Portales; three sisters, Bernice Fields of Bridge City, Texas, Rosalie Anderson of Alamogordo and Ruth Charles of San Diego; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kimbell was preceded in death by his infant son, Joel Ray Kimbell, in 1961; his parents; and two brothers, O.B. Kimbell and Ivis Kimbell.
Omah V. Weir
Services for Omah V. Weir of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gale Trow will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. today and from 8-10 a.m. Friday at Griffin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weir, 104, died Monday, April 30, at Country Cottage Care & Rehab Center in Hobbs. She was born Feb. 2, 1897, in Corsicana, Texas.
Mrs. Weir came to New Mexico with her parents in 1906. She married James Elbert Weir Sr. in 1932 in Lovington. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and a member of Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Weir is survived by her son, Bert Weir Jr. of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Weir was preceded in death by her husband in 1960.

Bobby V. Powell
Services for Bobby V. Powell of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Villar and the Rev. Peggy White will officiate.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell, 70, died Monday, April 30, at her home. She was born March 1, 1931, in Hatch.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, Norman Powell; one son, Darrell Powell of Hobbs; two daughters, Darlene Dana of Houston and Joan Isbell of Hobbs; one sister, Dortha Theel of Edmond, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Floy Lewis.
Gene Pearson
ANDREWS, Texas - Services for Gene Pearson of Andrews were held on Thursday, April 26, at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews. The Rev. Steve Adcock of Lubbock officiated.
Burial followed at Andrews North Cemetery. Services were under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mr. Pearson, 73, died Monday, April 23, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Lamesa, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Andrews in 1960 from Pecos.
Mr. Pearson married Sarah Robinson on Jan. 9, 1976, in Hobbs. He owned and operated Andrews Insurance Agency for 40 years. He had been involved in the Lamesa Jaycees, was a member and ambassador of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Andrews Kiwanis Club and Andrews Little League. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife; three sons, Mike Pearson of Andrews, Mike McAlister of Lubbock and Ken McAlister of Hobbs; three daughters, Genny Moore of Canyon Lake, Barbara Hulsh of of Bastrop and Penny Watson of San Angelo; three brothers, Kenneth Pearson of O'Donnell, Richard Pearson of San Antonio and Carol Pearson of Norwalk, Calif.; two sisters, Louise Adcock and Joyce Oliver of Lamesa; and 13 grandchildren.
Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his son, Ron Pearson, in 1995; his grandson, John A. Pearson, in 1999; and his sister, Shirley Stephens, in 2000.

Omah V. Weir
Services for Omah V. Weir are pending with Griffin Funeral Home.

Oba L. Russell
Former Hobbs resident Oba Lee Russell, 81, died Thursday, April 26, at his home in Texas. He was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Ashland, Okla.
Mr. Russell was a World War II veteran. He had lived in Texas since 1994.
Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Loneva Russell; two sons, James Leroy of Texas and Kenneth Ray of Wylie, Texas; two daughters, Kathryn June of Texas and Betty Jo Allred of Hobbs; one sister, Mildred Sanders of Hollister, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; one brother; a granddaughter and two grandsons.
Pearl A. Throneberry
CARLSBAD - Services for Pearl Annie Throneberry of Carlsbad will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Sunset Church of Christ. Mal Shakra will officiate. Services are under the direction of Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. today at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.
Mrs. Throneberry, 76, died Sunday, April 29, at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest Inc., North Canal Unit in Carlsbad. She was born March 17, 1925, to Thomas Edward Welburn and Rebeckie Victoria Cross Welburn in Randellte, Okla. She grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. She married James Odell Throneberry on March 21, 1940, in Burkburnett, Texas.
In 1953 she moved to Eunice, where she attended Northside Church of Christ. In 1995 she moved to Carlsbad, where she attended Sunset Church of Christ. She loved to crochet, do crossword puzzles and play Scrabble. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2000.
Mrs. Throneberry is survived by three sons, Ronnie Throneberry of Houston, Emery Throneberry of Lovington and Larry Throneberry of Carlsbad; one sister, Oliva Fulks of Lonestar, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Barbara Harris Poole
LOVINGTON - Services for Barbara Harris Poole of Lovington will be held at 9:30 a.m. today at Hillcrest Baptist Church. The Rev. Mack McCarthick will officiate. Services are under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery in Roswell.
Ms. Harris Poole, 76, died Saturday, April 28, in Lovington. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Dexter. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was formerly a member of Highland Baptist Church of Roswell for many years.
Ms. Harris Poole worked as a nurse for more than 25 years, half of it working as a nurse in doctors' offices and hospitals and the remainder working for the New Mexico Public Health Department in Roswell.
Ms. Harris Poole is survived by two sons, Thomas M. Poole of Lakewood, Colo., and Robert S. Poole of Golden, Colo.; three daughters, Carrie Wilbanks of Lovington, Sue Hawkins of Colorado Springs, and Barbara Mabry of Roswell; one sister, Alda Horn of Alvarado, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Ms. Harris Poole was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy J. and Lucille Leatherwood Harris; two sisters, Inez Payne and Geraldine Mooney; and one brother, Marlin Harris.

Jeanne D. Stoffer
EUNICE - Services for Jeanne Delores Stoffer of Eunice will be held at 4 p.m. today at Calvary Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. The Rev. Shawn Drake of Bel Aire Baptist Church in Hobbs will officiate.
Cremation has already taken place under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stoffer, 67, died Saturday, April 28, in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Garnett, Kan. She married Allen "Jack" Stoffer.
Mrs. Stoffer moved from Cheyenne, Wyo., and has lived in this area for 31 years. She was a bookkeeper for H&R Block for 20 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 45.
Mrs. Stoffer is survived by her husband of the home; three sons, Justin Stoffer of Chuluota, Fla., Jim Stoffer of Springlake, Texas, and John Stoffer of Cheyenne; five daughters, Jackie McKenzie of Nashwauk, Minn., Jody Cruce of Lubbock, Jo Anne Heady of Eunice, Janet Stoffer and Joyce Tedford, both of Denver City; one brother, Robert Anderegg of Atlanta; one sister, Carolynn Cozad of Elmira, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stoffer was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald Lee and Charles Anderegg.
