Ron Gohr
Services for Ron Gohr of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Ericksen will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today and after the service at Karmen Gohr's home.
Mr. Gohr, 55, died Sunday, April 22, in Lubbock. He was born April 6, 1946, in Jackson, Minn.
Mr. Gohr married Karmen Goertzen on Aug. 30, 1969, in Mountain Lake, Minn. He moved to Hobbs from Jackson in 1981. He and his brother owned Mr. G's Supper Club in Jackson. He worked for Total Fuel, Eddins-Walcher and Queen Oil & Gas doing propane conversion.
Mr. Gohr also owned and operated The Surface Doctor from 1995 until October 2000.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church, he loved gardening, woodworking and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother, Ona Skare; his stepfather, Elmer Skare; one son, Dana Gohr of Las Cruces; one daughter, Tiffany Powell of Mercedes, Texas; one brother, Ken Gohr of Midland; one grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gohr was preceded in death by his father, Otto Edward Gohr.
Eduardo J. Renteria
Services for Eduardo Jaquez Renteria of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Helena Catholic Church. The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate.
Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.
Mr. Renteria, 51, died Friday, April 20, in El Paso. He was born Oct. 13, 1949, in Mexico to Trinidad and Ricarda Renteria. He has been a resident of Hobbs for the last 25 years and worked 14 years as a roustabout for Banta Oil Field Services Inc.
Some of his favorite hobbies included deer hunting and fishing.
Mr. Renteria married Patricia Jaquez Montaņo on July 2, 1982, in Lovington.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, both of Hobbs; six brothers, Julio Jaquez of Van Horn, Texas, Abraham and Trinidad Bejar, both of Hobbs, Saul Jaquez of Oklahoma and Miguel and Pedro Jaquez, both of Mexico; four sisters, Manuela Jaquez of Hobbs, Yolanda Vasquez of Arizona and Nancy Ruelas and Maria Jaquez, both of Texas.
Mr. Renteria was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia Jaquez and Augustina Renteria; and one brother, Samuel Jaquez.
John O. Hogue
MIDLAND - Services for John O. Hogue of Midland will be held at a later date in Lovington. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home in Midland.
Mr. Hogue, 76, died Sunday, April 22, in Lubbock.
He was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Rosboro, Ark.
Mr. Hogue served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Shubrick DD639, which was commissioned in 1943. He was a victim of Japanese kama kazi in the East China Sea in 1945 and was a veteran of Sicily, Normandy, Southern France and Okinawa.
He married Mikki Ferguson on Dec. 29, 1949, in Drew County, Ark. They lived in Lovington from 1956-2001.
Mr. Hogue was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lovington.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Mike Hogue of Midland and Greg Hogue of Austin; a daughter, Jeanne Stearns of Round Rock, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Silvia Losoya Fabela
Services for Silvia Losoya Fabela, formerly of Hobbs, are pending with Bethany Funeral Home of Hobbs.
Mrs. Fabela, 38, died Sunday, April 22, in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Fabela is survived by her parents, Manuel C. and Rafaela Losoya of Hobbs; three brothers, Ramon Losoya of Midland, Manuel L. Losoya Jr. and Leroy Losoya, both of Hobbs; two sisters, Yolanda L. Fryre and Dora L. Soto, both of Hobbs; four daughters, Rosa Limon of Hobbs, Yesenia Fabela, Maria Elena Fabela and Isela Fabela, all of Oklahoma City; four sons, Leonel Losoya, Cecilio Fabela, Gregorio Fabela and Juanito Fabela, all of Oklahoma City; one grandchild; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Vicente Gonzales III
JAL - Services for Vicente Gonzales III of Jal will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Jal. The Rev. Valentine Jankowski of San Jose Catholic Church of Carlsbad will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Jal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 400 Avenue D from noon today until services on Wednesday. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at 400 Avenue D.
Mr. Gonzales, 22, died Sunday, April 22, in Kermit. He was born June 20, 1978, in Kermit. Mr. Gonzales moved to Jal 10 years ago from Odessa. He was working for Chaparral Services of Jal as a truck driver.
Mr. Gonzales is survived by his parents, Vicente Gonzales of Kermit and Diana Gonzales of Jal; one son, Dylan Michael Gonzales of Jal; two sisters, Adriana Gonzales of Jal and Vallery Gonzales of Kermit; maternal grandparents, George Segovia Sr. of Jal and Eva Segovia of Kermit; paternal grandparents, Vicente Gonzales Sr. and Maria Gonzales, both of Kermit; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
LaFalla K. 'Corky' Fox
Services for LaFalla K. "Corky" Fox of Hobbs will be held at 3 p.m. today at her home. Cremation will follow under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fox, 70, died Thursday, April 19, in Hobbs. She was born June 28, 1930, in Atoka, Okla.
She was a member of the Easter Star.
Survivors include a special friend, R.L. "Red" Wisener of Hobbs; and several nieces and nephews.
Lucille Freeze
Services for Lucille Freeze of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jerry Johnson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Tim Johnson and the Rev. Dean Mathis.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Freeze, 80, died Saturday, April 21, in Hobbs. She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Dawson, Texas. She married Oliver Lee Freeze on Oct. 1, 1940, in Dawson. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Alicia Martin of Hobbs, Donna Johnson of Albuquerque and Susie Garner of Cedar Hills, Texas; four sisters, Iva Dell Pierce of Hobbs, Jo Holladay of Nuevo, Calif., Susie Goodman of Stamford, Texas, and Mary Beth Adams of Tatum; two brothers, Bill Holladay of Hobbs and Don Holladay of Everman, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, three brothers, one grandson and two great-grandsons also preceded her in death.
Danny P. Howard
Services for Danny Paul Howard of Austin, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Castle Avenue Baptist Church.
The Rev. Leon Green will officiate. Burial will follow in the Denver City Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.
Mr. Howard, 43, died Wednesday, April 18, at Hospice Austin's Christopher House in Austin. He was born Oct. 5, 1957, in Seminole.
He owned Howard Enterprises, a manufactured housing industry for 15 years.
Survivors include his parents, Bobbie and Delta Howard of Hobbs; two sisters, Tammy Daws of Phoenix, Ariz., Peggy Engquist of Orlando, Fla.; his grandmother, Janet Howard of Denver City; and his best friend and close companion, Danny Rudd of Austin.
His adopted sister, Roni Fuller, preceded him in death.
Eduardo R. Jaquez
Services are pending with Bethany Funeral Home for Eduardo Renteria Jaquez of Hobbs.
Mr. Jaquez, 51, died Friday, April 20, in El Paso. He was born Oct. 13, 1949.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Patricia Jaquez of Roswell.
Gladys M. King
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Memory Gardens Direct Services for Gladys M. King of Hobbs.
Mrs. King, 75, died Friday, April 20, in Hobbs. She was born May 31, 1925, in Rocky Ford, Colo.
She married Lloyd King on Jan. 18, 1943, in Raton. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Neff of Hobbs; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Her parents, Ruben and Grace Klumpp, also preceded her in death.
Private services for Joyce Luker of Hobbs will be held by the family. Cremation has taken place.
Mrs. Luker, 70, died Friday, April 20, at her home.
She was born July 21, 1930, in Dangerfield, Texas.
She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Reta Smith of Odessa and Zelda Gay Harmon of Parma, Idaho; three sisters, Gloria Hare of Quitman, Texas, Frances Mills of Loop, Texas, and Cholly Luker of Hobbs; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Edward Madron
Services for Edward Madron of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at Jefferson Street Church of Christ.
Virgil Webb will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
He will lie in state today from 3-8 p.m., Monday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 8-8:30 a.m.
Mr. Madron, 67, died Thursday, April 19, in Hobbs. He was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Artesia. He married Perlene Kirkendall in 1951 in Florence, Ariz.
He was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ. He grew up in Hope.
Mr. Madron retired from Vendex in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Michael and David Madron of Hobbs and Bobby Madron of Mannford, Okla.; a brother, Walter Madron of Hobbs; three sisters, Anna Lee Box, Virginia Pitts and Ruth Fike, all of Hobbs; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His parents; and two sons, Edward and Donald Madron, preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home in Portales.
David H. Fann
Services for David Hal Fann of Hobbs will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Monument Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Fee will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. today, from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, and from 8-11 a.m. Monday at Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Fann, 37, died Thursday, April 19, in Hobbs. He was born Jan. 22, 1964, in Lubbock. Mr. Fann was a Christian and a member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Fann is survived by his parents, James and Inez Fann of Hobbs; one son, Devon Hal Fann of Monahans, Texas; and three daughters, Toni Fann of Hobbs and Jenna and Brittani Fann of Monahans.
James T. Felts
Services for James Thurman Felts of Hobbs will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. J. Gorton Smith will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. today at Griffin Funeral Home. Mr. Felts will be buried in Boulder City, Nev.
Mr. Felts, 90, died Friday, April 20, in Hobbs. He was born June 30, 1910, in Hopkins County, Texas.
Mr. Felts was a member of First United Methodist Church. He owned grocery stores in Roswell and Tatum. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Felts was also a car dealer in Borger, Texas.
Mr. Felts was on the hospital board of Nor-Lea Hospital. He was awarded the "Citizen of the Year" in Tatum.
Mr. Felts is survived by his wife of the home, Martha Vinson Felts; one daughter, Linda Davis of Burbank, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Felts was preceded in death by his first wife, Ouida Chappell Felts.

Violet L. Comstock
DURANT, Okla. - Services for Violet Louise Comstock of Hendrix, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. today at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God. The Rev. Arthur Hurley and Viola Hurley will officiate. Services are under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home in Durant.
Mrs. Comstock, 66, died Tuesday, April 17, in Denison, Texas. She was born May 30, 1934, in Spencerville, Okla.
Mrs. Comstock married William "Bill" Comstock on Aug. 28, 1949, in Lawton, Okla.
Mrs. Comstock was a member of the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God. She was a minister's wife for 36 years and taught Sunday school for many years. She was active in the Women's Ministries.
Mrs. Comstock loved working outside in the yard and playing practical jokes. She was always singing or whistling. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Everyone she met loved and admired her.
She loved God with all of her heart and the angels rejoiced when she entered Heaven's gates. She will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Comstock is survived by her husband of Hendrix; three sons, Roger Comstock of Clinton, Okla., Jim Comstock of Clinton, Ohio, and Howard Comstock of Woodward, Okla.; two daughters, Donna Pirtle of Moore, Okla., and Cheryl Braggs of Andrews, Texas; one brother, Gene Cooley of Schofield, Wis.; one sister, Helen Muņoz of Marysville, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Comstock was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Fred Madison Cooley and Frances Alta Marie Langford; four brothers, Wendell, Melvin, Bill and Jimmy Cooley; and grandson Rusty Comstock.
